chapter 37❤

"Sir, there is a meeting with GV developers this evening." Aarav's PA information.

"No..no.. reschedule it for some other day.. today there's this business party stuff.. Siddharth would drag me there.." Aarav chuckled.

"Sure, sir. I'll schedule it for next week then."

"Okay, it's already 5pm, you may leave."

His cell phone lit up and Siddharth's name flashed.

He received the call "hel-"

An overexcited Siddharth cut him off saying "ohh fuck your damn hello-mellos! Today you'll chill brother! Today we'll enjoyyyyy! So get your sexy ass home ASAP!"

Aarav laughed at his brother's idiotic words "Shut up, you overexcited ass! I'm coming home."

He disconnected the call, grabbed his blazer lying on the chair as he moved out of the office.

He got into the car as his driver started the car.

He leaned back into the seat. It was raining.

You left with the monsoon, didn't you? My happiness vaporised with the rain water. I remember how scared you used to be of thunderstorms. You'd see the lightning and then shout my name saying 'Aarav save me!'.

Aarav's lips formed a beautiful smile remembering her.

But now, I am screaming, Hritika save me! Save me! My life existed fine without you but then you came, made me realise the life I lived was a mere hallucination and in reality, there was so much to it. You made me learn to live, and I settled my whole world around you. And then what you did, because of my one mistake, you left me. You left me without thinking that without the your sun, all my planets will break down.

What good did you make out of it? You said it was for my good. Now, death feels like the only good for me. I want to cry, but I can't. I want to harm myself, but can't. I want to die, but can't thinking of others. I want a fucking way out of this torturous life, but you see there's no way out. Whenever I feel I'm fine, your memories haunt me.

A tear escapes his left eye rolling down, wetting his cheek.

"Sir!! Sir??" The driver almost shouted taking Aarav out of the trance.

"Huh..yeah? What happened?"

"We've reached home."

Aarav took a shower and got ready for the party.

Siddharth was driving while Aarav sat calling someone.

"Yeah, that one!" He said, irritated.

"How many time do I need to tell you about that?" He yelled.

"I want everything done by tomorrow!" He warned.

Siddharth was perplexed by Aarav's sudden change in attitude. He was quite in a good mood when Siddarth called him an hour back.

He is possessed by some witch. I'm sure! And I'm also sure it's that witch with a 'B'. That dramatic Ashley. I sometimes feel like throttling that little bitch.

Siddharth thought to himself.

"Now what's wrong with you? Why are you murmuring?" Aarav asked.

"I.. I was talking to myself.." Siddharth stated.

"Stupid"

"I know you are." Siddharth twisted his lips.

"You are!"

They childishly faught throughout the drive until the car came to hault.

The venue was all set for the big event.

Reporters stood there like hungry hyenas waiting for their preys.

Aarav's and Siddharth's bodyguards and more people guarded them into the venue ignoring all the absurd and excessively personal questions the media threw at them.

"I absolutely hate that part! Why are they so excited about our lives?" Siddharth complained.

"I have no idea." Aarav said as they went to their table.

Aarav comfortably sat while one of the server served them wine.

The stage was lit up with people dancing and singing on it, Aarav seemed very disinterested.

"It's boring. Isn't it?" Siddharth asked sipping the wine.

Aarav nodded in positive.

"I don't know what's the point. Like we come here to make business relations stronger and here, they are singing and dancing.. celebrating what?" Siddharth asked.

"Our boredom." Aarav answered to which Siddharth chuckled.

"Why are you so annoyed today anyway?" Siddharth questioned.

"That Ritwik is of no use, he didn't get even one report right! Plus the share market! Ooff, it got down so bad and swift." Aarav justified.

"No no no no, I'm asking about the real reason." Siddharth said bending on the table, supported by his elbows.

"It's noth-"

"Come on, you think I don't know you? I even knew that you peed your pants while in Seva sir's class in kindergarten, I knew!" Siddharth said with a proud smirk.

"Damn you Siddharth! You remember those embarrassing stuffs? Oh my god! You're so evil!" Aarav exclaimed.

"Don't try to change the topic, my dear brother. Tell me what's bothering you"

Aarav huffed as he looked away.

"Tell me!" Siddharth nudged.

"I- uh- met Hritika.. a few days back, in the temple.." Aarav said still looking away.

"You what? How? She's in India?" Siddharth bombarded with his questions.

"Hmm"

"So? That's a good thing"

"It's just.. it's just I couldn't voice myself.. I couldn't say I was sorry..I couldn't ask her to give me a chance.. I'm so embarrassed of myself.." Aarav sighed in defeat.

"If she's here, then that's no problem. I'll manage a meeting. But please get rid of that witch with a 'b'." Siddharth said.

"Who? Ashley? Yeah I got rid of her already! She was some irritating showpiece man! I don't know if she was here to learn business or getting all over me!" Aarav huffed in annoyance.

"The second one, obviously!" Siddharth said in 'isnt it obvious tone'.

"I don't care.. right now you see, I wanna go hug Hritika but I know I don't deserve her." Aarav said, sulking.

"You didn't, sometime. It wasn't your fault, to be honest, it was both of your stars. You loved each other. You didn't deserve her that time, but you've changed. You've changed for good. And you've gone through enough punishment, Bhai." Siddharth tried making him understand.

"I don't know.. even if I do, do you think Hritika will come back? Do you think she doesn't have someone in her life?"

"She can never.. she loves you..she always did and will.."

"Then you-" he stopped when a kid dressed in floral dress collided with leg but Aarav prevented her from falling down. She, then, hid behind Aarav's arm.

"What's wrong, little one?" Aarav asked.

"Shh... Lovie will catch me if she sees me here.." the girl said.

"Is anyone troubling you?" Aarav said in a serious tone.

"Who? Lovie? No! She doesn't even pluck the flowers thinking it will hurt the plants because she thinks getting detached from someone you love is very painful" the little girl said, laughing.

"That's true.. it's very painful.." Aarav said, thinking about Hritika.

"Ayeee gotchaaaa" a female voice erupted in, disturbing Aarav's thoughts.

That little girl was picked up from Aarav's lap by a woman in a Indian traditional wear, saree.

She looked like a goddess, flawlessly gorgeous. Her smile so bright that it can light up the whole world's happiness.

But her smile faded as soon she noticed where the little girl was. Whose lap she was on.

"I.. I am sorry.. she came running.." Hritika said with soft eyes, suddenly getting sad.

"Bhaabi? Aap? Yahan? By the way you're looking gorgeous!" Aarav was shocked that Siddharth talked so easily, as if he's been doing it forever.

Her smile was back again "Thank you, Bhai." But her smile disappeared soon noticing the other male figure "I... I'll get going.."

"Bhaabi, why don't you join us for lunch tomorrow? Tomorrow is badi maa and Papa's wedding anniversary" Siddharth asked.

"Um.. I'd love to.. but.. I don't think that'll be.. you know..." She said, knowing how awkward it'll be.

"Please, bhaabi! Bhai wants you to attend it! Please for bhai's sake!" Siddharth said earning a kick from Aarav under the table. "Owwww" he groaned.

"Are you okay, Siddharth?" Hritika said, worried.

"Um..I will be.. if you come for lunch tomorrow." Siddharth said and eyed Aarav to say something.

"I will s-" she was interrupted by Aarav.

"Uh- I- you- I mean-" Aarav wanted her to come but he couldn't voice it, how could he, when he was clearly ashamed and embarrassed he had treated his love that way, sometime.

"Offfo!" Daisy slapped her forehead "Lovie will go! Okay? I'll make sure of it! So much drama!!" She said as she pulled Hritika's hands and went the other way towards Sean.
