chapter 18❤

Hey loves! How's the new cover? Hope you liked it. 💫

At first I thought of asking everyone to come over our place but then I thought it's not right time for Hritika. She should rest. So I arranged cool movies in our home theatre. It's a movie called "About Time".

Our car stop and I rush to the other side to get Hritika. I give her my hand to hold, she smiles and takes it. Then we walk through our lawn and all the househelpers share their pleasantries.

"Okay so, I've something for you.. I hope you like that." I say.

"Really?" She squealed like a school girl.

I nodded and took her to the room and she gasped to see all the arrangements.

"This is for me?" She said.

"Yes" I said nervously.

"Thank you" she said hugging me.

Uhm..

Okay..

I let out a small nervous laugh.

"So what movie are we watching?"

"Um what about "About Time"?"

"Wow! That's a great choice!" She said.

We made ourselves comfortable in the recliners. While watching I felt her holding tight to my arm. It's a movie about time travel and it gives a lot of life lessons, to cherish relationships and be grateful for present time.

I looked at her, she had a sad expression on. Too touched by the movie it seems.

Finally it ended, and Hritika tightened her grip on my arm.

I tried get up but damn, she held even stronger.

"Okay what is it?" I laughed.

"You understood the meaning of the movie right?"

"Yes"

"You sure we're not wasting our time right? You sure we've got enough time for us right?"

I cup her cheeks "and what makes you think otherwise?"

"Nothing.. just stay safe okay? I don't know.. your business rivalries.. it makes me feel insecure.." she says looking down at her palm.

"I've got your security enhanced, don't worry. I'm never letting that busturd get into my life anymore. Plus we've been searching for him."

"I'm not talking about MY security, dumbass!"

"I understand, smartass" I wink at her.

She slaps my arms and gets up still holding my arm and follows me to the dining table.

I serve her dinner. I cooked the food myself! Not quite of Aarav Malhotra! But she deserves all the efforts.

"So how does it taste?" I ask.

"God bless Sukanya! What a dish she cooked!" I frowned. Sukanya is one of the cook at our house.

"Seriously? I made that, Hritika"

"Oh my god, really? I'm sorry! And thank you! You made this? How? I mean wow! I can't believe!" She states still shocked.

I take a lil bow and laugh.

"If I knew you'd do so much for me after me being sick for a few days, I'd like to risk my life everyday!" She laughs but my heart stops for a moment thinking of the time she fell on the ground and all the blood that were oozing out of her.

"That was a joke, silly!" She adds.

"These things aren't something to joke about! You've got no idea how I felt watching you lying there lifeless just for me, my business' sake, my rivals!"

"It wasn't your fault, not even a bit!"
She scoots over to my side, hugging me lightly.

I just nod, nothing helps this strong feeling of guilt.. and it's been haunting me for days now.

"Come on, I'm fine! And your assistant told me you got back the deal! I'm mad at you for not telling me that by yourself!" She pouts.

"It's all because of that goddamn deal! That's what resulted in all th-" she cuts me off "shhh.. congratulations for the deal! I'm proud of you!" She says in a low voice as she squeezes my hands.

I just smiled at her, amazed by the effect she has on me. Something inside me kept on comparing my past with my present and kept me telling that this is all going to fade away, I feared that. Yet, she gave me a lot of courage to continue to try, keep trying.

Even if I'm risking it all again, I'm aware of it, and to be honest to myself, I want to risk it. She's worth it.
