Warrior guy seemed to sense my obvious doubt so he no longer probed me on the matter. At least I knew he was not as dense as he appeared to be. Except the fact he did not notice the extreme fundamentality behind princes-carrying a prideful guy. Before I could start complaining though, a commotion down below made me forget my pride momentarily and I strained my neck to look down. There was a chariot in the lake, slowly drowning. People were wading out to shore after breaking out of the chariot, and a group of campers were crowding around to help them. Or perhaps to push them back in and jeer at them, I couldn't make out from up here. Some of the kids in the lake wore what seemed to be school uniforms, but of course I wasn't sure either. My eyes could be playing tricks on me. Or the mist fooling me. Both were likely. Warrior Guy voiced my thoughts before I could myself.'We should head down. I'm guessing they're the new batch of demigods Coach Hedge has been keeping an eye on.''And of course we won't have time to proceed with the custom greetings . . . right?'He grinned. 'Right. I almost forgot about that. Come on then, we're going to give them a splash of surprise.''Oh, no-- AAARGH--'My voice was cut off with the first scream as we plunged downwards, heading for the middle of the lake where there were still some campers canoeing. We spiralled. We loop-the-looped. We shot down with increased speed at the last moment, landing in the water with enough force to create the world's biggest tsunami. My eyeballs jiggled like water balloons. My body juggled like the pins of a clown. The last thing I heard was Warrior Guy's shout as he greeted his friends, and the incredulous voices of the campers . . .'-- Guys, I brought extra package--''-- Willian? What the hell--''-- Poor guy--''-- Hey, call the healers, cabin seven--'There was the voices of Annabeth, I think? And Will? Piper? Leo? I think I know now exactly at what arc in the story I'm in . . .

Book three in the Dantata Series.Hauwa Sufyan had it all planned out: get her sister married to the love of her life, slay with the dresses she spent more than she ever had on, and have fun with the guests present. The last thing she expected even after joking with her best friend about finding a man to settle with was for fate to come knocking. Instead of coming with one man, it brought two.On one end is Mahmud Muhammad, an introverted neurosurgeon who never pays much attention to anything outside his career and his family until Hauwa comes along. On the other end is Mas'ood Dantata, an extroverted certified chef with a blooming career, a soft spot for family and a surprising dislike for anything chocolate. Forever can only be spent with one person and when faced with two men who are perfect in their own ways, Hauwa learns that fate can be cruel and that picking one over the other is easier said than done.[P.S: Not all love stories are fluffy from start to finish. This is one of them.]
