This will probably be the last chapter before the two different endings. I'll also redo the description.

β˜†β˜†β˜†

You were just sitting there, alone in the alleyway, waiting for something to happen. The fireworks started about 10 minutes ago. You aren't sure how long they'll be exactly, but you're sure it's not long.

A realization hits you. You could get attacked here in the alleyway! 'Dang it, I could've used this as an excuse to go with those two!' You mentally berated yourself. 'What should I even do? I'm stuck here waiting unless I want to risk not being found.'

"What are you doing all alone in this disgusting place? Shouldn't you be enjoying the fireworks, Watashi no ai?" A voice asks from behind you.

You whip around so fast that you fall on your bottom. Looking, you see none other than the demon fox himself, Torikku.

"Torikku..! Why are you here? And, why didn't you tell me the truth?" You inquire.

"Well, tsuki. I came here to find you after you left Tamayo tied to a tree. I thought I told you to say put. Why did you leave? You could've gotten hurt or lost." He sounds genuinely concerned. However, you can't forget what Tamayo told you.

"I did what she wanted. You did tell me to stay put, but I didn't want to just sit ideally by while my town was getting attacked by some UNHOLY MONSTERS." You screamed the last bit. It might have come off harsher than intended, but it was necessary.

"So, she told you everything. Well, then. What are you going to do now?" He asks.

"I...I'm not sure..." You admit. "I was told to stay here so I would be safe. But, I don't think I am. You are here, after all."

"Fair enough. But, what did you want to do? I know you well enough to know that you wouldn't oblige without a fight." Torikku pushes.

"I wanted to help Yoriichi and Michikatsu. But, they wanted me here. I tried to argue, but they shut that down." You sigh.

"You could still fight, you know."

"Really?" You are intrigued. "How?"

He takes a deep breath of air in. "You could become a demon. You could join me. We would be together forever. Just you and me doing the occasional task for our Lord. Spending our free time together, making flower crowns, playing with Morro, and maybe even having a family. This is the future I see for us. Can we make it a reality?" Torikku asks, taking your hands in his.

This brings a rush of color to your cheeks. He essentially just confessed that he loved you and wanted a future with you. But, you would have to give up your humanity. Would it really be worth it?

You open your mouth to answer. However, you're cut off by a scream. A scream that sounds almost identical to Hinata.

"Hinata?!" You scream, ripping your hands out of Torikku's. "The attacks, they must've started! I have to go help her!"

"(Y/N)! Please consider my proposal. Keep yourself safe. And, I love you." He quickly exclaims as you run towards the scream.

You spot Hinata on the ground, bleeding from a gaping chest wound. "Hinata!! Are you okay?!" You question as you slide onto the ground next to her.

"(Y/N)...?" She weakly coughs out. "I'm glad we were friends, even if it was only for a couple of hours. I hope to see you in the next life. Maybe we'll become friends again."

"No! Hinata! Don't speak like you're going to die! I won't allow my best friend to just die like that! I'll get you medical attention." You hastily say, looking around for anyone who might be a medical professional. But, you only hear more screams. The attack is in full swing.

Rin all of a sudden runs up to you and Hinata. "I have a place where we can house her." The two of you work together to get Hinata to a quaint building. You place her on the bed. "I can take care of her. I know how to suture a wound. I promise I will get her better." You nod.

As you're about to walk out, Rin grabs your attention. "Here, take this katana. It was my father's. He served in the army as a samurai. Please, kill those creatures."

"Thank you, Rin. I will." You run back to the main square, slashing demons left and right. One, however, stands out to you. This one had a more intimidating aura.

The powerful demon made eye contact with you and sweeped his red eyes up and down your figure. You felt yourself visibly shutter. He began to approach you, making you step back in fear.

"Where are you going, Miss? You have no reason to fear me. I just want to ask what a lady like you is doing with such a powerful sword." He explained, edging closer to you still.

"I'm here to fight. That is all you need to know." You curtly state.

"Hmm, well then, you might want to meet my greatest fighter," He steps to the side, revealing.

"Torikku!" You exclaim, not planning on seeing him again so soon. However, he didn't respond. He just kept looking at the ground. "...Torikku..?" You try again. This time, there is only a growl. Your brain is barely able to process a flash of green before pain shoots throughout your body.

He had just slashed you with his claws. You shakily bring a hand up to the wound. Red leaks down onto the ground. I hear heavy breathing behind me.

Cliffhanger, lol.

This chapter is shorter than usual, but it's okay.

Pure_Jackass69 , I hope this was a good injury for Hinata. Thank you for this idea.

The two ends will come soon. I'll probably be writing them then publishing them at the same time.

Thank you for reading!
