Epilogue: Worth It

"So, how was it?"

Miruko asked him about his date. The other heroes were curious about the detail as well. Hawks lied through his teeth. There was no way he could explain how chaotic it was. "It's a normal date. We had dinner, talked, then went back to our own home. Nothing interesting."

Kamui surprised. "Really? I thought you will do something more extravagant."

Hawks chuckled. "She likes Cinderella. A woman who wants a break from her chores to attend a fun ball. I'm just a man who accompanies her before she returns back in midnight."

Best Jeanist smiled at his description. "That makes you her Prince Charming. Here I thought you're only playing around."

Hawks raised his shoulder. "I'm always a romantic person deep inside."

One of the staff members entered the room, giving him information that somebody was looking for him. Hawks went downstairs and saw Fuyumi stood in the lobby. She bowed down while giving him an expensive cake. "I am sorry for my embarrassing behaviour and my family!"

Hawks was not mad. He watched the family drama, took a lot of secret pictures and saw a heart-warming conclusion to their conflict. However, people around them might have a different idea. He did not want a new rumour floated.

"It's okay! Please raise your head. Besides, I messed up as well. This is fair for both of us."

Fuyumi still felt bad for dragging Hawk into her problem. She hoped there was a way to pay him back. One particular thing appeared through her mind. Thinking about it made her flushed. Hawks noticed how red her face was.

"Are you okay? I hope you don't get sick from yesterday-"

Before he continued, Fuyumi pulled his arms.

She gave him a small peck on the cheek.

"Thank you, Keigo."

After that, Fuyumi turned back. She then ran away as fast as she could in embarrassment. Hawks was speechless. He touched his left cheek, still feeling her lips on that spot. He pinched himself, wondering whether it was reality or dream. After confirming the truth, that man beamed in happiness. He shouted his joy loudly.

It might be a wrong move but the reward was worth it.
