Chapter 2

((Oof-

another two hours, lol. Yeah, guys. These take a while to write, but I have lots of motivation to write since school is back in, and I don't really wanna fry my brain...

Welp, hope you enjoy this chapter!))

We only had to wait for about 15 or 20 minutes before Present mic stated the rules one final time before saying go. We all immediately started running in to fight the fake villains to gain enough points to pass. As I was running, I saw the two boys from before following me. I decided to ignore them, and continue immobilizing the robots to gain points. Every time I used my quirk I felt my arms and legs start to freeze, but that's no reason for quitting. There were reasons for getting distracted though. The two boys I mentioned earlier were following me the whole time. Each time I immobilized a robot the purple haired one would 'compliment' me by saying something vulgar. The other one was there to grab him to make sure he didn't do anything too weird. Turns out the short one has sticky hair and the other one has tape coming out of his arms. It's odd, but not the worst thing I've ever seen. 'I really hope that shorty doesn't get in...' Soon enough there was the 0P villains showing up, and I then understood why Present Mic said to try to avoid them. There was a kid who had black hair, not unlike the other one, and ruby red eyes. He seemed to have some type of strengthening, or solidifying quirk but was too tired to keep it up or stand as he was being approached by the 0P villain. I ran towards him nitrogen steaming off of me as I directed it towards the ground forming ice. I screamed as I used my quirk past its limit, feeling as if my arms were on fire. The villain was frozen in place by the ice and I collapsed in front of the person I had just saved. He stared in awe along with the other two that followed me to the robot. I rolled onto my side to look at them, "A-are you o-k?" I had asked in a hoarse voice. He crawled over to me and tried to warm me up by taking my hand, but when he found out how cold I was let go of my hand by reflex. I chuckled a bit as I said, "Cold huh?" He nodded but then noticed I had a jacket. He sat me up and helped me put it on, much to the purple haired boy's displeasure. The other black haired kid approached me, "That was awesome! Are you ok though?" I chuckled again, "Awesome? Nah, ok? I guess." I smile and say, "I just need some time to warm up. Give me a few minutes ok?" The two nod at me while the third just seemed upset by the whole situation. There was frostbite on the ends of my fingers becoming visible as the frost over it thawed away, much to the boy's displeasure. It was not good looking. I was laying for about 15 minutes before recovery girl came and gave me a kiss on the cheek to help heal my fingers within seconds. "Is she gonna be ok?" The red eyed boy asked. Recovery girl giggled, "Yes, she will be just fine. Don't worry. She saved you remember?" she says pointing up to the 0P robot. He rubs the back of his neck and chuckles out of embarrassment. "I guess if she saved me, she'll be a-ok." Recovery girl nods, then turns to me. "Now, don't go using your quirk like that too much, you might lose a finger! I won't be able to help with that." I nod at her, and thank her for helping me out. She nods and walks off to help others.

By the end of the test, I had around 36-40 points. Enough to pass, but it was up to the judges to determine if I would be getting into the school or not. As I was walking away from the building I noticed the ash blonde boy standing at the gate. It was then I remembered him telling me to meet him there. I don't even know this guy's name! He saw me walking out and made eye contact with me. 'Welp, there goes my plan of avoiding confrontation.' I walked over to him and awkwardly waved. He grunted slightly in response then asked, "How's your bruise?" I look at my leg and there isn't one. "I went a little overboard on my quirk to help someone during the test." He looked at me again, "So the old lady helped you out hmm?" I nod and shuffle slightly. He looks away as do I. It's not exactly an awkward silence, but it's not nice. "Bakugou." He said. "E-excuse me?" "Call me, Bakugou." I look at him and ask, "Is that your name? Or is that your last name?" He looks at me confused at first then whispers to himself before answering, "Oh, right. You're American... It's my last name. What do you want me to call you by?" I stare at him for a second then quickly answer. "Marie. Call me Marie. I prefer when people call me by my first name." I didn't realize how sweetly I had said that, but I didn't care. He nods then glances around for a second. "Which direction do you live?" I blink a few times before pointing to the left. He nods and then says, "I'll walk you home as long as it's not further than my house." I stare at him before saying, "U-uhm... You don't h-have to." He then bluntly states, "I know." I had started to walk in the direction of the apartment I live in. It's about a 5 minute walk to the complex, but when we get there, Bakugou froze. "You live in an apartment?" I turn to look at him, "Yeah, why?" He then asks the question I was hoping he wouldn't. "Do you live with anyone?" I go silent and look at the ground. "N-no... I'm by myself here..." He stares at me blankly, "Why?" I look at him as the question was unexpected. "Uhh, what?" "I asked, why?" I then notice his face is a little angrier than what I had seen. "Oh, my mother is taking care of my grandmother, who can't move. My dad is busy with work, delivering supplies across the country. And my brother is going to college in the states. I'm not by myself by choice, but I probably would choose to be alone if given the option. I'm fine, don't worry." I had slightly chuckled to ease the tension that had developed. He had softened his expression before nodding in response. "Well, I guess I'll be going. It was nice to meet you Bakugou." I sheepishly added. "I hope I didn't bother you too much." He nodded and added, "It was nice to meet you too. I actually hope you got in. Unlike a certain idiot..." He had mumbled his last sentence but I heard it, remembering the sweet green haired boy. "Are you two rivals?" I asked. He looked at me confused and then thought about it for a second. "Not really. He doesn't have a quirk so I see no reason to be rivals with him." I look at him confused. "If he doesn't have a quirk, then why did he try to get into UA?" Bakugou just shrugged slightly. I let out a hum before giving a final goodbye and walking to my building. I unlocked my door, turning to look off the balcony my floor was on, only to see Bakugou still standing there. I waved at him and he half waved back. I walked into my apartment shutting the door, and sliding down. Man, am I looking forward to seeing him again. I hope we both got into UA and got the same class.
