I absolutely hate Dovewing despite how popular she is. She is fine one minute and then snaps the next-less than ten seconds, even. She is a plain-out Mary-Sue and whines whenever a cat is better than her. She thinks she's the best cat and she must be so perfect.

Dovewing has never used her powers for her Clan. She's only used them for her own needs to find out what Tigerheart is doing. Basically all we hear from her is Tigerheart. At one point she snapped at Ivypool for supposedly being jealous that Tigerheart loves her when Ivypool clearly wasn't jealous.

"That's not true! You're just jealous!" Dovepaw shrieked at her sister. "You're jealous that I'm a better warrior than you. I always have been and I always will be, and you can't stand it. And now you're jealous that Tigerheart loves me and not you! You want to destroy everything I've got because you're jealous. That's all!" - Night Whispers, page 181.

Basically all Dovewing does is complain about the slightest thing and just so happens to be respected by every single cat in ThunderClan. She even complains when a cat is a better warrior than her. "Does she think she's better than me because she's doing this for the clan?" One time she complained about Bumblestripe liking her and then decided she would just go see Tigerheart and decide to ignore Bumblestripe's feelings. Blossomfall was right; Dovewing was just playing with Bumblestripe's heart, making him believe she loved him back. Bumblestripe will have to suffer because of her. He deserves all the pity, not Dovewing.

Dovewing also wants every cat to respect her.

"Lionblaze was so bossy! And now he was trying to tell her how to use her power. He should respect her, like Jayfeather did, not treat her like some dumb apprentice." - The Fourth Apprentice,

Dovewing has the nerve to tell Ivypool she's disloyal for being in the Dark Forest when she's seeing Tigerheart. The warrior code never said anything about, "Do not train in the Dark Forest with Tigerstar" but it does say, "A cat cannot be with another cat from a different Clan." Dovewing honestly thinks she's loyal but she's nowhere near that. Hypocrite right there.

Dovewing doesn't have an actual personality and hasn't changed ever. She's happy one second and then angry the next. She is just so undeveloped, it's unbelievable.

Onto DoveXBumble. Dovewing never had feelings for Bumblestripe and has always had some for Tigerheart. She always snapped and technically used Bumblestripe as a scratching post to get her mind off of Tigerheart, when she clearly loved him and not Bumblestripe.

Whenever Dovewing was with Bumblestripe, she always thought of Tigerheart and has even said that Bumblestripe "doesn't give her the same thrill as Tigerheart". All Bumblestripe is to her is someone she can use just to get her mind off of Tigerheart and make ThunderClan think she's loyal. I'll most likely continue DoveXBumble in more depth on a different rant.

Dovewing never liked Bumblestripe more than a friend. If it wasn't for her, Bumblestripe would have been with Ivypool, which had way more chemistry and an actual starting point. Bumblestripe honestly deserves better than Dovewing, who is clearly using him. Face it, DoveXBumble is not love and won't last for long since Dovewing will most likely run back to Tigerheart.

Talking about Tigerheart, she told him about Jayfeather's herb patch in Night Whispers and she blames him for using her when she told him herself. She knew that he'd tell her Clan. Tigerheart had every right to because Littlecloud, his medicine cat, was dying. Thanks to Dovewing, Sandstorm and Cherrypaw almost died from greencough. She then thought Tigerheart was "using" her when he didn't.

Dovewing also said something along the lines of, "No wonder Hollyleaf isn't part of the prophecy! She killed a cat" which would most likely imply that Dovewing thinks a cat who killed a cat isn't worthy of being respected. What's funny about that is Firestar and some other well-liked cats have killed before yet they are still given respect.

If Dovewing was meant to be part of the Three, she should be deserving and use her powers for her Clan, not for her own needs. She's refused to use them so many times for her Clan and did practically nothing during the Great Battle. She acted like it would kill her if she did use it when asked.

Before the battle started, all she could care about was abandoning her Clan for some ShadowClan tom when cats could easily die. The fact that Dovewing also takes credit for saving the Clans off of Ivypool bugs me a lot. Ivypool deserves all the praise while Dovewing deserves to be ignored so Ivypool could actually get noticed.
