Chapter 7: The killing games Part I

First of all...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BEST CHARACTER IN THE WHOLE WORLD!! PERCY JACKSON!! I love him so much you guys have no idea, sure he's fictional and all but he really made me believe in myself as a person, hey a fictional character can effect someone he's amazing and I can't wait to read the greek heroes because it will be the last Percy POV we'll ever read, yet who knows. Anyway I just love this time of year WHATEVER I'll STOP THIS NONSENSE NOW I JUST LOVE YOU PERCY YOUR AMAZING HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! AND ITS PERCABETH'S ANNIVERSARY MY OTPPPPPPPPPPPPP THE FEEEELLLSSS ARE EXPLODING! yeah I'll stop now. ANYWAY HERE'S TE CHAPTER YOU ALL DESERVE I wanted to updated earlier but I was realllllllyyyyyy sick, my throat hurt so much I could hardly eat. And I wanted to update on Percy's Birthday 🎂🎂

Narrator's POV:

The black lines were still spreading across his eyes, who knew what these lines represented, a diseases? Maybe. But he was sure they represented darkness, the darkness he wanted to let out for so long, something he tried to stop but couldn't. And when he finally did, things went his way, he found his happiness.

He glanced at his sword, the blood now dried, he picked it up the sword reflecting his smile like a mirror, he himself didn't know what was going on with him, he didn't want it to stop, no it would ruin things.

The only thing that would ruin his plans were his new visitors, sent by the gods, they were powerful, he knew it himself, instead of killing them why not befriend them? Let them join his side so he can reduce Olympus to ashes once and for all, but he shouldn't rush or else it would destroy things, patience.

This place will change them, he knows it. So let the place change them, he'll have to be patient because patience was his only way to success.

Jason's POV:

"I'm going to briefly sum up the rules for the games, okay?" Atlanta said  standing in front of our cabin's door.

We all nodded. "Okay."

She stepped in and faced us. "Okay its not much different than capture the flag. Their are two teams and one flag-"

"Hold your tongue! One flag?" Leo asked.

She rolled her eyes, "yes. The flag is hidden somewhere on the island. Each team will be stationed at the other end of the island. So you may be stationed on North or South. Meanwhile in the east and west their will be monsters hiding, we provide them as an extra challenge. So each team has to work on finding the flag, the team who crosses their side with the flag wins."

"Okay. Understood. But why do you call it the killing games?" Annabeth asked.

Atlanta smiled, "because you get to kill," she saw our reactions and continued, "you don't actually die!"

"But everyone in here is immortal? I mean I know our kind of immortality is the one where you can die in battle, but don't you guys lose a lot of demigods because of this." Piper asked.

"Let me explain. Everyone in here is immortal right?" She asked. We all nodded.

"Sure were immortal but not godly immortal, which means we can die in battle. But during the killing games Percy, thanks to his powers," she eyed us all when she said that, "he casts a curse on us. If during the game you were lying on the ground dying you would be eliminated and you would shimmer, which at this point counts you dead, but when you shimmer you appear back in your cabin safe and sound, you aren't dead nor injured, your just eliminated, but during the game considered dead. Understood?"

"Oh! Makes sense." Piper said, "smart way actually."

Atlanta's eyes widened at her for Piper's sudden friendly way, but I know Piper, she's doing this to try to make us fit in. That daughter of Aphrodite you shouldn't mess with, I speak from experience.

Atlanta turned to leave but Annabeth grabbed her arm and pulled her back. Atlanta yanked her arm away. "What do you want? Don't you dare pull me back like this again!"

Annabeth's hands turned to fists, she was resisting the urge to kill her. "All I wanted to say is: what are you and the others up to for us in the killing games tonight?" Now I was interested. Everyone in this camp has been resisting to attack us, they've all been warning us about what they'll do to us in the games tonight. That was something I wasn't looking forward to, but the game itself? I was actually excited for it, I wanted to prove myself in front of them. To show them me and my friends aren't weak.

Atlanta's smile spread wider, "you'll just have to wait and see. Unfortunately," she smiled and walked out, slamming the door behind her.

"What now?!" Leo yelled collapsing on his bed.

"We'll just have to wait and see. We have no choice." Piper said, she saw our horrified faces, "guys don't be scared. Its not like the whole camp will attack us."

"Oh really Piper? What if the whole camp is stationed on North and all seven of us on South. How will we fight them? Its impossible! Sure we won't die! But I don't want to have my butt kicked by some immature villains!" Leo protested.

"Leo your immature." Hazel said.

-------

  Hazel's POV:

We walked into the armory an hour before the killing games, everyone was there putting on their armor, sharpening their swords or spears and some where slashing at each other as a last minute practice.

We walked over to Atlanta who was sharpening her sword, Vanessa was next to her. "Why does everyone seem excited? Don't you regularly have the games?" Jason asked as we walked towards them.

Vanessa looked up. "We have them once two months. And their is two reasons everyone is excited, first: everyone wants to win because the prize is no chores for two months and second because were all excited to kick our new guests butt!" She laughed on that. Atlanta high fived her.

"Well were excited to kick your butt too." Frank stated. Vanessa's and Atlanta's smiles disappeared replaced with frowns.

"Who I hear will kick my sister's butt?" A deep voice came from behind us, we turned to find a boy very similar to Vanessa, he had long blonde hair that reached to the end of his back, he wore a lion's skin cape proudly. Vincent. His grey eyes were fixed on Frank. I swear to the gods of Olympus if he gets near him I'll make sure he drowns in cursed sapphires and emeralds.

"I will." Frank said proudly , "she's no challenge."

"Oh my sister isn't. I'm stronger than her." Vanessa rolled her eyes on that comment. He looked Frank up and down, "so your the famous Zhang huh? Well were both archers but only one of us can be the best in this camp," he smiled.

I know where this was going, he's trying to provoke Frank.

"Frank don't." I whispered.

But Frank ignored me. "Challenge accepted," he said.

Vincent smiled, "if me and you are stationed on different teams, we fight. Do I make myself clear?"

I expected Frank to look scared, but he had a look of confidence. "Sure."

Vincent smiled and walked away, Vanessa followed behind him.

"You all better put your armor on. Percy will call everyone any minute." Atlanta said she pointed to a table in a corner, armor and war helmets were placed on it.

"Thanks." Jason said.

"Whatever," she said blowing a strand of her blonde hair away from her eyes.

"Frank you shouldn't have done that." I said once we were out of Atlanta's sight.

He put his armor on, "its okay Hazel. I'll be fine."

"Frank's right. Don't worry Hazel, Frank can beat Vincent." Jason assured me.

I shook my head. "I don't know why but I have a bad feeling about this."

"Right. Remember guys we stick together and defend each other if we were surrounded." Annabeth said.

We all nodded. We wont let anyone get in our way tonight.

"Are you ready?" Atlanta asked once we were done putting our armor on.

"Yes." We all said together.

"One last thing your allowed to use your powers out there. Though I don't think that will help," she said smiling.

"And why is that?"

"Because gem girl were villains or so you people call us, we know how to kill and set up traps in a matter of seconds. We now how to lure you into trouble. I mean Vincent just lured Frank into one."

"What?!" Frank yelled.

She smirked, "you'll see for yourself. Now come on!"

-----

We followed her outside to where everyone was gathered outside the palace's gates, Percy stood on the bridge, that led to the palace, overlooking everyone. He smiled our direction, in other circumstances I would've thought his smile was friendly and full of love but this was full of hatred.

Once we were in the crowd he raised his hand for silence. "As you've all wanted I allowed the killing games to happen earlier. I believe you all know the way the game is run and now the guards will divide you into North and South.

Within five minutes everyone was divided according to the way Percy wanted it. Luckily me and my friends were all together in the North. Atlanta was with us too though she didn't seem happy about it.

Vanessa and Vincent were stationed South. I kept worrying about Frank.

"Before you all go to your stations I'll unfortunately have to remind you of the rules because your all too immature and bad to remember them and by the way I'm proud o f you for it." Percy said.

Everyone in the crowd smiled, except us, we were nothing like them.

"Rule number one: your not allowed to make any alliances with monsters so they can help you find the flag that's already hidden in the forest.

Rule number two: no dividing into more than two teams, only North and South.

And a third rule that someone told me I should add and I agreed to it.

Rule three: Your not allowed to plot against someone. For example two individuals, on different teams aren't allowed to fight separately. And if this happens and I find out both will get whipped for three days in the dungeons. Take your stations and remember this game may last for hours." Percy walked back into the palace.

We all turned to look at Frank, my vision was becoming blurry from tears. Vincent. He set Frank up on purpose, I'm probably sure he's the one who suggested for Percy to add the rule. Frank will be whipped, even if Vincent will too, as long as Frank's hurt he will be happy.

Atlanta, Vanessa and Vincent were laughing at our surprised reactions, the whole camp was they kept glancing at us and laughing.

"This is when your feast begins. This is what we've been planning for." Atlanta laughed and walked away.

We glanced at each other, the defeated look not leaving our faces. This whole time we thought we would actually win, actually have a chance. But this whole time they were one step ahead of us.

They tricked us, lured us into a trap. I shouldn't be surprised. Their Villains after all.
