Chapter 2

"Do you mind explaining the reason for your tardiness boys?" The teacher glared.

"W-well," Sam stammered, and came up with the lamest excuse anyone could ever think of on a fresh Monday morning. "My friend Mark here was nauseous so we took him to the hospital, given that we have a car. Since he's gay we thought he may be pregnant with Kyle's baby, but the doctor said it wasn't the case coz' apparently he doesn't have a uterus- I think that's what it's called. So yeah when we found out we were so happy and my other friend Jake here filled the form and we took Mark to school. That is why we were late ma'am. If we knew earlier that his case was simply a case of food poisoning then we would have not gone to the doctor's and spend a fortune on that pregnancy seeing thing, which I think is called a mammography or nanography. Excuse me for my unawareness, I do not comprehend such matters."

The whole class erupted into laughter, and the other boys of the group just stared at their friend, mouths open at how he could be so dumb at times. The teacher, whose name they identified was Ms. Burns, simply pursed her lips firmly and further glared at them, as the boys headed towards their seats.

"Dude, what the hell is wrong with you? That excuse was the lamest I ever heard. Seriously whats' in the water at your house?" Jake whispered incredulously.

"You son of a bitch you made me pregnant!" Mark whisper-shouted.

"And you made me his boyfriend?!" Kyle scowled. "You are so gonna pay for this bro."

And being the guy he is, Sam merely snickered and raised a middle finger at his friends.

"Well at least I didn't get us detention." He stated firmly, proud of his actions. But Sam spoke too soon.

"That's it!" Ms. Burns turned towards the class. "You five over there! The latecomers! DETENTION FOR ALL OF YOU!"

"Pff speak for yourself dumbass," Jake muttered, glaring at Sam.

The rest of the class turned out to be alright, except for the constant glares by the English teacher thrown at the guys. Jake decided that he could not face the rest of the semester for such wrath, and as the bell rung, he headed towards Ms. Burns' desk to apologize.

"Ummm Ms. Burns?" He started.

"Yes?" She replied, clearly pissed off.

"I wish to say that I am very sorry for my friend's behavior earlier. And I promise he won't be of trouble in the future. We are not as such usually with teachers, I guess he just panicked given that you are new and we do not yet know you. Still Ma'am, I sincerely apologize."

As a result of his apology, Ms. Burns' face warmed into a full fledged smile, happy at Jake's honest confession, making Jake smile back too.

"In that case Mr. Jones, you and your friends just got out of detention. I expect good behavior from all of you as from now on." The teacher replied, apparently very satisfied from Jake.

Thanking his teacher and signaling his friends to leave, who were making whistling sounds, much to Ms. Burns' displeasure, strutted outside of the classroom, to continue their day.

"What was that about?" Mark asked.

"I just got us out of detention by apologizing on behalf of that dope," Jake answered, clearly referring to Sam, causing a loud "hey again!" to come out of his mouth.

"Ohhh someone has a crush on the hot teacherrrr!" Kyle purred. "Did you realize that she's a Ms and not a Mrs?" he teased.

"Jake and Burns sittin' in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G..." the boys continued.

"Hey she's not that bad." Jake defended, triggering more silly teases from his best friends.

Gasping with laughter and poking each other playfully, the gang did not even realize that Ms. Burns had witnessed the whole scene and was red with fury.
