        "Harry, huh?" Adira questions her sister, taking a sip of her drink and looking on as Justin and Harry talked. Harry lets out a boisterous laugh after Justin cracks one of his signature corny jokes, eyes crinkling, and Justin shakes his head, beaming.

        "I told you I was seeing someone!" Amala cries, scrambling to defend herself.

        "I didn't know it was Harry Styles."

        Amala laughs, shrugging. "Met him at a bar. Fucked him the same night."

        Adira raises her brows, glancing at her sister for a split second. "That's one way to do it."

        "He's hot; I'm lonely," she deadpans. "Perfect match."

        "Fucking your ex's ex-bandmate, though?" Adira throws her head back and laughs. "That's fucking gold."

        "Fuck Zayn," Amala declares, then sighs, turning to her sister. "I know it's a bad idea, though. But I'm so happy right now. He makes me so happy."

        Adira tilts her head. "I'd say temporary happiness isn't really happiness at all."

        "Feels like it, though."

        "You're just numbing the pain." Adira lets her words sink in for a second, listening to the laughs and chatter of their friends. "And I think you know that."

        "Maybe," Amala admits. "But I'd rather feel this than wake up with nightmares because of that other fuck. Haven't had nightmares ever since I've been with Harry."

        "If you're happy, I'm happy, 'Mala," Adira concedes. "I just hope you know what you're doing if this all goes to shit."

        Amala breathes out, then smiles softly as she sees Harry sending her one of his signature grins, dimple shining deep and curved and eyes glistening. "It'll all be okay. I know it will."
