:CHAPTER 3:

After a long day running around Dortmund looking at popular places and being a full out tourist, Stefanie is exhausted. She goes to bed early, totally forgetting about the little slip of paper in her bag.

Stefanie wakes up with a yawn. She looks over at the time, but then sees her camera on the shelf. Shoot! She thinks as she scrambles out of bed and tries to find her purse. Man, why does my memory have to be total shit? I can remember countless hockey stats but can't remember to send that soccer team my resume to get that job. She finds her purse and digs through the crap she has in there.

After getting frustrated and dumping out all her belongings, she locates the little slip of paper that could help her with her fees.

"There you are, you little mother fucker," Stefanie whispers in frustration and grabs the little slip. She walks over to her little desk space and opens her computer. She sends a lengthy email to the Borussia Dortmund Media Department, with an attachment of her resume and her portfolio.

"Well, I hope I get a response soon," she says as she closes her laptop and goes to grab her camera. "Now I gotta upload these pictures to the portfolio."

-------------------------------------

4 hours and 88% of pictures uploaded later, Stefanie hears a ping from her computer, announcing a new email. She sprints to her computer, almost hitting the table and sliding past the desk, and opens her inbox. There, in all its glory, was a response back from the Borussia Dortmund Media Department. Stefanie squeals with joy and quickly skims through the email.

"Dear Ms. Bauer; Thank you for sending us an email...yadda yadda ya...we are in need of a new photographer immediately since the season starts in a week. If you are available, we welcome you to come to the BVB Trainingszentrum...wow they just combined like three words...for an in person interview. If you are available from 12:00-16:00 this afternoon, please let us know."

Stefanie looks at her screen, and starts jumping around, "Yes! My first job offer and I've been here for 2 days! That should be a world record."

She quickly types back a response, deciding to meet at 14:00 so she can get ready and eat a lunch. She sends the email and quickly gets up, nearly hitting her head on the low ceiling. She goes and picks out her outfit, trying to be as business casual as possible. She picks out a white dress shirt which she pairs with a tan scarf, black dress pants, and some black heels, which, hopefully, won't twist her ankles. She searches through her purses and grabs an orange one, big enough to hold her camera and a lens. As an accessory she chooses a rose gold watch that she received for her 21st birthday. Stefanie looks in the mirror, pleased with her outfit choice. She leaves her apartment and goes to the front desk.

"Guten Nachmittag, how can I help?" asks the lady at the front desk.

"Guten Nachmittag, hi, um, do you know how to get to the BVB Trainingszentrum," Stefanie asks, having trouble pronouncing "Trainingszentrum."

"The Trainingszentrum? Yes it's not that far from here." The lady takes out a map and points out how to get there using public transportation. Stefanie thanks her, and goes out the door.

-------------------------------------

Dammit I need a car, Stefanie thinks as she finally reaches the Trainingszentrum, good thing I left early, it's 13:49, so I have time to find where the Media Department is. She walks in and looks around, spotting a front desk area. She carefully walks there, and greets the man at the front desk.

"Guten Nachmittag, I am looking for the Media Department?" Stefanie asks the man.

"The Media Department is to your right, fräulein," the man responds, "Do you have an appointment?"

"Yes, yes I do. I am here for an in person interview at 14:00? For the photographer position?"

The man looks at his computer for a moment, then looks back up, "Ah, Fräulein Bauer? Yes, Frau Schmidt will meet you in the lobby, then will take you to the room. Again the Media Department is to your right." The man points and Stefanie thanks him, walking towards the lobby that could determine the faith of her life in Dortmund.
