treasures

Harry finds some nice adult pacis that are handmade. Some Percy Weasley because I love him.

Harry POV

The best day ever, is the day I find the special store.

It's hidden in a corner, near Knockturn Alley. I slip inside and am instantly amazed. There's walls and walls of pacifiers. Some are plain and pastel, some are solid bright colors, some are decorated with faux fur, rhinestones, beads, little odds and ends. I find a pale blue one with lace and rhinestones and decide to buy it.

I see a spot with beanbags and soft looking sensory cubes and sit down, playing with them. I spot a price tag and smile with joy when I realize I can afford it. Just as I'm ready to head to the checkout again, the door opens and I see a familiar tall redhead enter. The bespectacled man looks wide eyed at the wall of pacifiers, and I see his demeanor slowly change until he's giggling and playing with a stuffed animal. Finding it endearing, I vow to never tell George or Ron.

Percy doesn't seem to notice me until we both checkout, and I see he bought a pacifier, the color of orange with stripes of a lighter orange on it. His eyes widen when he sees me, and the already pale man gets even paler. As the two of us walk out, I whisper, "My lips are zipped if yours are."

Percy nods, his curls bouncing with the movement. "Say, we might as well go to the Burrow, that family gathering is today."

I hold up the bags I have. "I've got to put this away first. But thanks, mate."

He nervously fidgets. "Of course, of course. Well, good seeing you Harry."

The next time I see Percy, it's at the same store. I'm buying yet more stuffed animals, and I see Percy looking dejected in checkout, holding an orange stuffed giraffe. I get closer, my heart sinking when he moves to put the treasured giraffe back. I tap his shoulder, and he turns. I press gold into his hand. He balks, but I shush him. "Take that giraffe home."

Percy gives me a grateful smile, and he happily gives the gold to the cashier.

When I leave with a stuffed owl and a snake, I see that he waited outside for me. I feel trepidation, but he only smiles, genuinely. It looks rather nice on the man. "It's an odd thing to ask...but given we both....do the same thing...we could take an afternoon? I know it's a strange thing, given the past..."

I nod with a smile. "Sure. Why not?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As it turns out, Percy Weasley is a rather nice bloke. He might be a bit foppish, a bit high-strung, but really not that bad. After apologizing for the past and even giving me an apology card, complete with flowers, I forgive him.
We watch a movie that Percy insists deserves more love, a movie called Donnie Darko that just came out. It's disturbing and twisted, but I somehow can't wait to see it again. He identifies all the music, each model of every car featured, even the type of jet engine. His constant commentary makes the movie less scary.
Afterwards, as a palette cleanser, I put on The Sound of Music. Percy, who hasn't seen it before, loves it. His singing is off key, but I enjoy it nonetheless. We seem to think alike, because next we know, we're both little and Percy is hiding in a blanket.
"Sweepy..." Percy pouts and curls in a ball, holding a pillow.
I yawn and pout myself. "Bedtime for Perthy and Hawwy..."
When Ron and Hermione and Ginny get home, Percy panics and nearly Apparates on the spot. But to my and Percy's surprise, Ginny and Ron simply embrace their older brother. Hermione whispers, "We should give them a moment."
I whisper back, "Let's stay in range, though, just in case..."
My concerns are null, because everyone is civil. Ginny looks almost tearful. "I never see you these days, Perce."
He smiles weakly. "Sorry. I've been, uh..."
Ron has hands on his hips. "Busy? Mum's been worrying about you, you know. And you know how she gets..."
Percy looks at the floor, worrying his hands. "I've something to tell you. But you mustn't laugh. And don't tell George."
Ron looks around the room, and at the pillow in Percy's arms. He softly smiles. "You're doing the same thing Harry is?"
He looks startled. "How did you-"
Ginny chuckles. "You were hugging a pillow when we came in and Harry was obviously little too. Why would I laugh? Okay, I know the answer."
Ron looks guilty. "We'll be better, now, alright Perce? We haven't been kind in the past..."
Percy smiles a little. "Neither was I."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Oh, Percy! It's been months and your letters...I'm glad you're alright. Are you hungry? Of course you are. Harry, so good to see you. Ron, Ginny, you're getting hugs!"

Molly gives everyone a hug, and Percy and I escape to the dinner table. He hugs Arthur, who smiles at me. Ron and Hermione sit by me, Percy sitting nearby.

George grins at him and playfully hits his shoulder. "Hey, Perce. Nice to see your mug."

Percy confusedly frowns. "I don't have a mu-"

"George, feet off the table." Arthur quips.

George grins. "Feet off the table!"

When I begin to get tired, so does Percy. Without hesitating, he comes home with us. I don't question it, and neither do Ron and Ginny. Hermione must sense that Percy seems off, but thinks nothing of it.

Percy sleeps on the couch after Apparating home to get some of his things. He stays curled up in blankets, Bluey in his arms, and I wonder if Percy is always this quiet.

At some point, Ron takes Percy's temperature by magic using a spell he learned from Hermione, and his weird behavior makes sense: Percy is running a low grade fever.

Ginny explains, "He acts really clingy when he's sick, and sometimes he gets a little confused..."

I make sure his pillows are comfortable, and sit down next to the sofa he's passed out on. "I won't pretend to know what you're dealing with, mate. But whenever you feel ready, you can tell me."

Percy mumbles from under the blankets, "She leff me. Penny leave me."

I frown in sympathy. "Sorry, mate. That's really rough."

He nods, thumb sliding into his mouth. I offer him his orange pacifier, and he takes it.
