Saylor's life was finally starting to settle down. Her nightmares were not as intense and she was starting to find peace with River's death.
She was still singing for the Capitol but there were no issues with President Snow.
She and Finnick were the same brother and sister they have always been. Nothing had changed between them. Although, Saylor had yet to tell Finnick about Coriolanus. She felt bad for hiding it from him but she was scared he would disagree when her dating a peacekeeper, and even worse President Snow's grandson. So she decided to keep quiet about their relationship. The only people who know are Tigris and Sejanus.

Saylor and Coriolanus met up every night since that night they kissed. They would meet up most nights at the beach or sometimes Corio would climb up to Saylor's room. It is almost like a dream to Saylor, every time they kiss she gets butterflies like it's the first time they ever kissed. She was falling in love with Coriolanus and she wasn't opposed to letting it happen.

Coriolanus had very similar feelings to Saylor. She is Coriolanus's everything. When he wakes up her thinks of her. When he goes to bed his last thought is of her. He loves to see her smile. And even more, he loves making her smile. Her smile cleared all worry and sadness from him. And honestly, it scared Coriolanus. He has never been so attached to one person. He loves Saylor and would do anything for her. But he also thinks that's his weakness.

The 74th Hunger Games were coming up in a few weeks and the reaping was even closer.
Saylor started writing a song for the opening ceremony. Every year she has sung. She has written a song directed to the tributes and this year would be no different. For some reason, Saylor had an odd feeling about the upcoming games. Little did she know her whole life was about to change.

"What are you thinking about?" Coriolanus asked Saylor as she was lying on him with her fingers intertwined with his. "That girl who volunteered for her sister... Katniss I think?" She responded. It was the day after the reaping and it was Saylor's last day home before she had to be in the Capitol till the Games ended. She and Coriolanus were taking in these last few moments together before the craziness started.

"Hm... What about her?" He asked, "I don't know... I get a feeling about her, I like her... She brave." She said. "Or stupid..." Coriolanus adds. Saylor turns her head to look at Coriolanus. "You think she's stupid for volunteering for her sister? Why? If you weren't Capitol and Tigris got picked. And if was allowed. wouldn't you volunteer for her?" She asked. Coriolanus looks down at Saylor. "I'm not saying she's stupid for volunteering for her sister. I'm saying she's stupid for volunteering in general." He explained. Saylor just hums then uses her free hand to grab Corio's dog tags. "I wish the Games weren't a thing... too many good people die."She says, Coriolanus grabs her hand that was fidgeting with his dog tags and kisses it. "I know love... can we talk about something else though?" weird..

"You look extra happy... Spill." Baylee said while helping Saylor get dressed. It was the night of the tributes interviews and Saylor was singing.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Saylor responds, "Well, Normally you look sad. No offense. But now you look like you don't hate life."Baylee explains. "Well, I still do... Just not as much." Saylor says while Baylee zips her dress.
"What changed?" She asked, "Hm.. Idk." Saylor says
"You're no fun." Baylee scoffs

Saylor was talking to Finnick and his Tributes when she saw Katniss and Peeta. "Remember, Be charming... Not too charming though. Don't want you to get more popular than Finnick. Now if you will excuse me." Saylor gave the two Tributes a polite smile then walked over to Cecilia, Effie, and Haymitch. "Oh, Saylor! How lovely it is to see you." Effie says and hugs Saylor. "Hey Effie... Haymitch." She smiles at him. She had met Haymitch this past year at a Capitol party. He was so drunk that he almost passed out in one of the halls. Saylor had found him while walking to her dressing room and gave him water. Then paid for a hotel for him. "Saylor, Nice to see you..." He smiles back.

"Have you met our tributes? This is Katniss... And this is Peeta." Effie introduced them,
"No, I haven't... Nice to meet you. I'm Saylor." She shakes Peeta's hand and then holds her hand out to Katniss but Katniss just stares at her. "Well... Uh. Good luck to you both." She awkwardly says, Then walks to the edge of the curtain.
"And like always Saylor Odair is giving us a special performance to kick off the Interviews." Caesar Flickermen announces and the Crowd cheers.

"Happiness hit her like a train on a track
Coming towards her, stuck, still no turning back
She hid around corners and she hid under beds

While Saylor sang she looked to the side where she could see all of the tributes watching her. She looks at all of them but she looks at Katniss longer than the rest of them.

"The dog days are over. The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses? 'Cause here they come
The dog days are over. The dog days are done
The horses are coming. So you better run"

Saylor decided to go with Finnick for support. To watch the games at the Capitol watch "Party" as some people would say. Saylor didn't watch the entire game as it was hard for her to watch. But it was close to the end and Saylor was shocked.  Never in a million years did she think that the Capitol would let two people win the Hunger Games. Apart of her was mad at herself for not trying.

When they announced that there could be two winners Saylor quickly glanced over to Coriolanus. And he was just as shocked. She could only see it for a second as he quickly composed himself.
"Saylor, look," Finnick said, and she looked at the screen. It was Katniss kissing Peeta's cheek. interesting...  Saylor and Finnick both thought that the two love birds were faking it. It was smart to try and fool the Capitol. But Saylor didn't actually believe that Katniss liked Peeta like that.

Smart. That was genius of them. Saylor thought as she watched as everyone celebrated Katniss and Peeta's win. They played that well. Of course, the Capitol wasn't going to let both of them die. They need a winner... I'm sorry River.

Saylor and Finnick were on the train heading back home. And Finnick was in Saylor's room. "Don't hold it against yourself. You didn't know that the Capitol would bend the rules." Finnick told Saylor, "How did you know that's what I was thinking?" She asked.
"I'm your brother... And I saw your face full of guilt and sadness when it was announced." He explains. Saylor doesn't say anything. "Look. Think about it like this. If River was alive he would most likely have a miserable life as a Capitol slave. You don't want that for him, right?"
"Of course not." She replies
"Then in some way... You're protecting him... And to be honest I'm a little nervous about how the President will respond to the game rules being bent..." Finnick admits. " What do you mean?" Saylor asked. "I just have a feeling President Snow is not going to like how the rules were broken... "
"Hm... I don't know maybe he will like it since it "makes the games entertaining"" She rolls her eyes at the thought of the President. "Yeah... Probably." He replied
