I need two monsters to release in order to summon her. I can draw up to four cards this so hopefully I'll be able to get them, Romin thought.

"It's my turn," she said and drew four cards. She looked at them and exclaimed, "I did it!"

"I summon Luminous Shaman (ATK: 500. DF: 0),  Stray Familiar (ATK: 0. DF: 1400), and Magical Beast Wolfram (ATK: 1100. DF: 100)!" Romin shouted and three monsters appeared on her field.

"And now I release Stray Familiar and Luminous Shaman to Advance Summon! Are you ready to get amped up? 'Cause here to rock the stage is Level 7 Prima Guitarna of the Colorful Light (ATK: 2200. DF: 0)!" She added on.

A tall humanoid monster with orange hair and holding onto a guitar appeared.

"Whoa! That kind of card was in Yuga's spare deck?" Luke asked but one look at Yuga's nervous expression told him otherwise.

"It's my own card," Romin clarified which surprised everyone.

"W-well...ahem...I knew that you had such an awesome card hidden somewhere!" Yuga cheered, getting over his nervousness.

"I got this card at a live show for a guitarist that I really admire, Princess G," Romin admitted.

(Flashback)

A younger Romin was at a concert watching a woman with teal and pink hair with a guitar. She just finished a song and everyone around Romin was cheering.

She felt...at ease here. Like no one will look at her with scorn in their eyes.

Anyway, as everyone watched the guitarist, Princess G, she held up a card. It was Prima Guitarna.

"Whoa, what is that?" Someone in the crowd asked.

"That's a duel monster! Not only is Princess G a phenomenal guitarist but also a first-rate duelist!" Someone replied.

"Thank you, everyone! We couldn't have done this amazing performance without the help of the most amazing fans! I thank you from the bottom of my heart!" Princess G exclaimed, happily.

She kissed the card and tossed it to the crowd.

"Go and catch my soul!" She said and the crowd scrambled to catch the falling card.

As if fate would have it, the card floated towards Romin and using one hand, she caught it much to her joy.

(End of flashback)

"Dueling is not really my thing but I keep this card around in my guitar case as a good luck charm. It's one of the most precious things that I own," Romin explained.

"Huh?" Luke seemed surprised and Gakuto asked, "is that why you're so protective of your case?"

Wait, the case! Luke thought and raced towards it as Gakuto was distracted.

"Luke, nooooooo!" Gakuto cried as Luke opened the case to see...

Yep, just Romin's guitar chilling there.

"So it really was a guitar in there," Luke said.

"Well duh. What else would it be? It's a guitar case after all," Romin pointed out and Luke kneeled with embarrassment.

Romin then turned to Yuga and said, "I've...I've been meaning to try my card out so is it ok if we continue?"

"Sure thing!" Yuga gave her a thumbs up.

"Alright so then I summon Dark Sorcerer (ATK: 1500. DF: 0)," Romin said.

Luke got up with Draco on his shoulder and he said, "all the monsters are here." He could feel the excitement coming from the monsters on Romin's field, especially Prima Guitarna.

"Prima Guitarna uses her life to bring the greatest musical performance! I pay up 1000 life points to activate her effect!" Romin declared.

1300 —> 300 LPS

"What? But why would she do that?" Gakuto gasped.

"What kind of effect does her monster have to require a cost that big?" Luke asked.

"Her effect is that all of my monsters gain 300 attack points for every monster that my opponent controls until the end of this turn," Romin explained as Prima Guitarna strummed her guitar.

"No way!" Gakuto gasped.

"That'll mean that her monsters are going to gain 900 attack points!" Luke gasped.

"Yuga will be in big trouble this turn," Draco told Luke.

"Now listen to her greatest riff! Rockin' Refrain!" Romin shouted and Prima Guitarna delivered a guitar riff so powerful that it nearly knocked Yuga off his feet.

"This power...it almost feels real," Yusei said.

Real? So it's not the hologram? Yuga asked.

"My guess is yes. Almost like...," Yusei trailed off and suddenly, in his mind, Yuga got a rather sudden flashback of a woman with crimson hair and the wind blowing through the air with rose petals flying around.

Yuga took a step back as he gasped.

What was that? He thought but Yusei didn't respond.

Yuga looked back at the field to see the monsters on Romin's field all powered up.

1100 —> 2000 ATK

1500 —> 2400 ATK

2200 —> 3100 ATK

"I'll return the favor from earlier so Prima Guitarna will show Sevens Road one of her songs. So attack! Melodic Maelstrom!" Romin shouted and Prima Guitarna strummed her guitar again which engulfed Sevens Road Magician in music which destroyed it.

"Sevens Road Magician!" Yuga cried out.

4000 —> 3000 LPS

Both Gakuto and Luke gasped which nearly made Yuga jump as they were now behind him.

"Looks like being patient paid off. Now I can't afford to be too excited or else...," Romin trailed off as Kaizo cheered for her.

"Now I'll have Dark Sorcerer attack Mystic Dealer," she added on.

3000 —> 1600 LPS

"It's not over yet. Magical Beast Wolfram, attack Spell Archer!" Romin shouted and the monster shot a fireball at Yuga's monster. What Romin didn't notice is that an ember of the fireball flew over and landed on Yuga's sleeve.

1600 —> 600 LPS

"Yuga, your sleeve!" Yusei shouted and Yuga quickly patted the ember down.

Romin saw this and took a step back.

Did I go too far? She thought and stared at Yuga to see what his reaction would be.

That wasn't the hologram. That attack was real but how? Yuga thought.

"I suspected as much. Romin is a psychic duelist," Yusei said.

A what? Yuga seemed confused which Romin wasn't too sure on what to make of his reaction.

"I'll explain later. Right now, play it off like nothing happened. I don't think Romin was intentionally trying to hurt you, it might have been an accident that the ember got on your sleeve, Yusei stated.

If you say so, Yuga thought before looking at Romin.

"Looks like you got me down to 600 life points. That's impressive," Yuga said.

Looks like he didn't notice it. Thank god, Romin sighed in relief.

"W-well, I end my turn. How does it feel to be on the receiving end of a comeback?" Romin asked, trying to play it cool.

"That's the most exciting thing about a Rush Duel," Yuga nervously laughed.

"This isn't a laughing matter," Gakuto said as he and Luke didn't see the ember.

"I think Yuga is acting, considering how much he's sweating," Luke told him.

"Th-there's always a chance for a comeback (I hope) so I'll just start my turn," Yuga said and drew cards.

Luke and Gakuto peeked over at Yuga's hand. Based on their expressions, it doesn't seem good.

"Now Yuga could win if he inflicts damage to her as Romin only has 300 life points but...," Gakuto trailed off as he looked at the zero attack points on Strange Familiar and the 1100 attack points on Magical Beast Wolfram.

"It's impossible. It won't be enough," Luke said.

"Haha! Did you see that, moron? You'll definitely lose and you'll reflect your foolishness in the depths of hell!" Kaizo crackled.

A red tick mark appeared on the side of Yuga's head as Kaizo said this.

"Calm down, Yuga. Take a closer look at your hand. I'm sure that you'll be able to make a comeback with the cards that you have. You just need to believe that you can pull this off," Yusei assured.

Huh? Oh I get it! Yuga thought and smiled.

Everyone else looked confused at this.

"I activate the spell, Recovery Force. By returning three spellcasters from my graveyard to my deck, I am able to draw a card," Yuga started.

"I think I understand now!" Gakuto said and Luke looked at him.

"Really?" Luke asked and Gakuto nodded. "Just watch," he said.

"I return Luminous Shaman, Spell Archer and Sevens Road Magician to my deck," Yuga asked and took the three cards and placed them in his deck which shuffled itself.

"See. Sevens Road Magician is back in Yuga's deck!" Gakuto cheered.

"Now he'll be able to change the duel around but that's if he's able to draw it," Luke said.

Come on, Sevens Road Magician. I believe in you, Yuga thought while closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. He slowly drew the top card from his deck

"..."

"..."

"..."

"Yes!" Yuga pumped his fist into the air.

"He did it!" Gakuto cheered.

"He actually drew Sevens Road Magician!" Luke gasped.

"OH NO!!!" Kaizo cried.

"And I just defeated him too," Romin sighed.

"I summon Strange Familiar and Magical Beast Wolfram and then I release the two to Advance summon Sevens Road Magician back!" Yuga shouted.

His Ace monster appeared to his side.

"And now I send the top card of my deck to activate his effect!" Yuga stated.

"Elemental Road!" Gakuto and Luke cheered as Yuga discarded the top card of his deck.

"Earth, Water, Wind, Fire and Dark. That's all the attributes in my graveyard which means that Sevens Road Magician gains 1500 attack points," Yuga explained.

2100 —> 3600 ATK

"Now attack Prima Guitarna with Sevens Magic Attack!" Yuga shouted and his monster held up his sword with sevens stars surrounding it and shooting the magic at Romin's monster, destroying it.

300 —> 0 LPS

WINNER: Yuga

The wind from the attack blew Kaizo backwards onto the wall behind him and Romin.

"I won! Yay!" Yuga cheered.

"Romin...," Kaizo said, sadly.

Romin had a look of disappointment and relief for some reason. Gakuto and Luke walked up to her though.

"You know, the effect of your Prima Guitarna to increase your monsters' power with the more monsters your opponent has is quite strong," Gakuto stated.

"Hmm?" Romin looked at them, surprised.

"Yeah, Yuga would have lost if he didn't drew Sevens Road Magician," Luke added on.

"Not true. No matter how small a possibility is, one should always bet on it and carve a road to victory," Yuga explained. He seemed to be wanting to say more when Kaizo spoke up suddenly.

"But Romin did so good in the duel!" He praised her and a red tick mark appeared on the side of Yuga's head.

"Hmm, I suppose you didn't really needed to use Elemental Road," Gakuto said.

"Yeah, you could have attacked Dark Sorcerer or Wolfram," Luke noted.

"Well an ace should fight an ace. When one sees full power, they'll respond in kind," Yuga explained before turning to Yusei.

Are you going to explain what a psychic duelist is now? Yuga asked as Gakuto dragged Luke away to scold him. Something about Luke's theory of Romin being a Goha spy is nonsense.

"Yes. You know how most duels are fought with a hologram like your duel with Luke yesterday?" Yusei asked and Yuga nodded.

"Well psychic duelists have a power to bring those duels to life. Attacks are real and they're able to interact with the real world. That ember from Wolfram's attack? Real. It's dangerous to keep those powers unchecked which is why so many people are afraid of them but...," Yusei trailed off to look at Romin who had taken off the duel disk and walking back to her guitar case.

But? Yuga thought.

"You should talk with her. Be friends with her. Psychic Duelists aren't dangerous if you give them a chance," Yusei assured him.

Huh. I see, Yuga thought which kind of surprised Yusei on how chill he was about it.

Yuga walked up to Romin and asked, "did you always wanted to duel?"

"What?" She asked, surprised.

"It seemed like you had a lot of fun during our duel especially when you summoned Prima Guitarna," Yuga pointed out.

"Don't get the wrong idea. I only tried as we were dueling," Romin told him. She grabbed her case and placed it over her shoulder.

"But...,"

"?" Yuga tilted his head as she turned her head towards him.

"Rush Duels really are a lot of fun," Romin told him and walked off.

Yuga smiled at this before turning to look at Kaizo with a larger smile on his face as he took out his tools.

"Wait, what are you doing with those?" Kaizo asked and then Yuga pounced on him and began to tinker with him.

"Why are you pressing the reset button? What do you mean I need more modifications?" Kaizo asked.

Gakuto, Luke and Yusei sweatdropped at this.

(Later)

At night, in a tall apartment building, a green haired boy was looking through pictures on his smartphone. The pictures were ones of Yuga and Rush Duels.

"Yuga Ohdo and Rush Duels," the boy said.

A/N: I did it! I finished this chapter!

Yes, Romin is a psychic duelist in this Au. I just think it'll be interesting to see. Also memory unlocked for Yusei! :D

Before anyone asks where Yusaku is, he will make an appearance soon. I'm thinking before the end of the first arc.
