Boo!

(3rd Person PoV)

Yuga was headed back to his lab after installing Rush Duels into every Goha duel disk. He wanted to make any finishing touches that Rush Dueling may need. After that, he planned on going home.

He unlocked the door to his lab, went in and closed it behind him.

He then went to his desk and was about to place his duel disk down when he spotted something small and rectangular on his desk.

What's that? Yuga took a closer look and saw that it was a duel card. One of legend.

"Stardust Dragon? Who could have left it here?" Yuga was so sure that he locked his lab earlier and he doesn't remember having this card.

So where could it have come from?

He picked it up and stared at the dragon. It felt so...majestic, powerful...safe.

He felt a cold breeze suddenly come in and he turned around and saw him.

A tall figure with spikey hair and wore a jacket.

Yuga could tell that he was a ghost due to the transparency of the figure.

Oh yeah, Yuga can see ghosts and can talk to them. Is that a shocker? Not really.

"Hey," the figure said.

Yuga sighed at this and said, "Another one. What'll it be this time? The usual?"

"The usual?" The ghost tilted his head in confusion.

"Yeah something to pass on and all of that. Got any last wishes before you go to the afterlife?" Yuga asked, getting right to business.

The ghost looked at him, confused.

"I don't understand. I just woke up somewhere and wandered off. I left something very precious behind though and I was looking for it," he explained.

"Ah, would that be this," Yuga held up the card.

"Stardust Dragon! Yes, I was looking for that," the ghost nodded.

Yuga was about to give it to him before he remembered two very important things.

One, the card was solid and he was unsure if the ghost could even pick it up.

And two, as his mother told him that a human and a ghost must not touch humanly things at the same time.

He doesn't particularly know the reason why but he suspects that the ghost must stick by his side and is connected to his soul until the ghost passes on.

Unfortunately, looks like no one told the ghost that as he reached for his card.

"Hey wait!" Yuga cried out but it was too late.

As just soon as the ghost touched the card, a large silvery glow began to shine and bind them together.

Yuga felt something heavy on his heart and he gripped his shirt where his heart is. He felt hot and cold at the same time.

Then he saw flashes of a junkyard that looked...lonely, abandoned, depressed, and trapped. The people were a mix of those with yellow markers on their faces and those without.

They all had a similar expression on their face.

Trapped.

Yuga suddenly snapped out of it and saw that he was in his lab again, the ghost was still there but looked confused again.

"What was that?" He asked.

Yuga sighed and looked at the card.

"Looks like you're now connected to my soul until you pass on," he explained.

"Wait connected? What do you mean?" The ghost asked.

"It means that you have to stick by my side, I don't know why we are connected though. My mom never told me that," Yuga replied.

"Does that mean I can't leave your side?" The ghost asked.

"You can to some degree. Like if I'm at school and I don't want you floating around near me too much, you can go and hang around outside the classroom. You can't go to another city without me though," Yuga explained.

The ghost then looked around Yuga's lab and then he looked at him again.

"So which city am I in?" He asked.

"You're in Goha City. Charming place if you don't count the many drones pestering you about questionable rules," Yuga explained.

"Goha City? This is bad, I have to get back to Neo Domino City!" The ghost exclaimed.

"Neo Domino City?! But that's miles away from here! Wait so how did you get here? Most ghosts don't float around places that they never been to," Yuga said.

"It's...a long story. I don't even how I or Stardust got here," the ghost explained.

"Ooookay then...so since we're stuck together, might as well tell you my name. I'm Yuga Ohdo," Yuga said.

Now Yuga wasn't quite sure if the ghost could even remember his name since most ghosts, especially more new ones, could barely remember anything of their past such as their name.

He wasn't entirely sure why but he has a feeling it might had to do with how recently they died and whatever trauma that they have suffered.

Thankfully, he was lucky this time.

"My name...my name is Yusei Fudo," the ghost said.

"Yusei...that's a nice name," Yuga told him before looking at his watch.

"Damn, it's getting late and my mom is going to lecture me for staying out this late," Yuga muttered.

"Does your mom know about the soul connection or ghosts even?" Yusei asked.

"Yeah. She can't see them like I do but she can sense them. As for the soul connection...I'm so going to get in trouble for this," Yuga groaned before grabbing his backpack and grabbed his Duel Disk.

Yusei looked like he wanted to say something about Yuga's Duel Disk but then Yuga walked out of his lab so he followed him.

Yuga grabbed some keys and locked the door behind him.

He then began to walk away to his house. Yusei was still following him. It's not like he has a choice.

Some ghosts noticed Yuga and waved while others ignored him.

There's less ghosts than usual. Usually nighttime is where they all hang out, he thought as he passed a streetlamp.

"Why is that?" Yusei suddenly asked.

Yuga then stopped and asked, "Did I say that out loud?" But Yusei shook his head.

"I didn't see your mouth move but I could hear you say something," he explained.

"Holy heck! You can read my mind!" Yuga yelped.

"Can ghosts do that?" Yusei asked.

"No. Not any of the ghosts that I have met. Man, now I can't avoid this subject with my mom. It must be because of the soul connection," Yuga sighed and he continued to walk.

"Why is the subject so touchy?" Yusei asked.

"...it's a long story," Yuga said.

Yusei decided not to press any longer and they walked (well float in Yusei's case) in silence.

They arrived at a cozy home where the lights inside were dimly lit.

Yuga walked up to the front door and carefully opened it. He tiptoed in and slowly closed the door behind him.

"Where were you, young man!" A voice behind him asked, causing him to jump.

"M-mom! Hey...," Yuga awkwardly said.

A woman with auburn hair and wearing a salmon sundress and a white apron was standing there with her arms crossed.

"She looks like you," Yusei noted.

I have been told, Yuga thought with a sweat dropped.

"It's late and what did I say about bringing ghosts home?" Yuga's mom asked.

"I was doing...something and uhhh Mom...," Yuga picked at his fingertips, trying to find the best way to explain to his mom.

"Yuga Ohdo, you better have a good explanation on why I can sense a ghost floating next to you and why did you bring them home," his mom said, sternly.

"Mom, don't freak out but...I may or may not....haveaccidentallygottensoulconnectedwiththisghost," Yuga explained quickly before racing towards his room.

"What was that?" Yuga's mom asked as soon as Yuga stepped foot into his room.

"...I may have accidentally...just accidentally...got soul connected with the ghost," Yuga murmured which his mom heard.

"Yuga! How many times have I warned you? Do not get soul connected with a ghost! Don't you know how dangerous it is?" His mom shouted, concerned.

"It was an accident! He just wanted his card and I was about to give it to him before I remembered what you told me about how a human and a ghost can't touch humanly things at the same time. But by the time I remember it was too late," Yuga explained.

Yusei was watching this back and forth between the two and he felt like a stranger just awkwardly listening to this. Well he is a stranger technically but still...

"Yuga...oh dear. Look, we'll talk about it tomorrow when you get back from school. There's leftovers from yesterday's lunch if you want to eat dinner," Yuga's mom said and left to go to her room.

Yuga watched her leave before heading to the kitchen.

"Why is it dangerous to get soul connected to a ghost?" Yusei asked.

"I don't want to talk about it," Yuga muttered.

Yusei made a concern face at the eleven year old so he dropped the conversation. Maybe once Yuga and his mom have that conversation, he'll figure out why.

A/N: new book time! Finally after so long!

Sevens deserves more fanfics so I'm giving it some.

Yuga can see ghosts and gets accidentally soul connected to one. What does that mean exactly? Well it's in the name but I will still explain it later in the next chapter. (Or the chapter after that, who knows)

If you want to see more dynamics between Yuga and Yusei (with Yusaku coming soon who knows when because my updating schedule is terrible), go check out my TechTrio one~shots book. Yes I came up with the name TechTrio, it was all I got.

Cya in the next one -Flare
