Chapter 5

April's POV.

"Bye sis!", I said as my sister was running off to the other way back to the library.

"Hey April. How come Vivian acts like she has forgotten us?" Asked Alice.

I turn to look at them " I guess you guys will have to hear about it since you guys are her best friend."

"What story are you going to tell?" Asked Abby.

" You have not heard of this one yet Ab." I said to her. I then started to tell the story.

"After she said bye to Alice and Nicole and I said bye to your sister, Alice, we went home to have dinner two weeks before we left for here. In the early morning of Saturday, my mom made an accident in the kitchen that caught the house on fire."

As I was taking a small breath to continue my story, I looked at Alice, Nicole, and Abby and saw worry in their faces, but I continued the story. "Me, my mom, and dad put our luggage outside. We were lucky that our whole house was empty because the moving truck already had most of our stuff and was driving and flying to where we were going to move. The most thing we forgot to get was Vivian. We thought that one of us had gotten her. We left in the house and the fire had already burned half the house and dad could not get in the house because the entrances were burned down. We screamed, but she did not wake up. Then all of a sudden, we heard a cry, it was Vivian. Dad told her to calm down and so she did as she was told, but all of a sudden, we saw her jump out from her bedroom that was three stories high. Dad called the ambulance to get her to the emergency room. When we found out later that she had lost all of her memories. She got her memories back, but she did not remember her friends at all. She never made friends all the way to six grade. She became friends with Abby. We were relieved that she made a friend because she was always by herself, but I think she is happy now." When I finished the story about Vivian, I stared at the girls and they had tears in their eyes.

"That story was so sad." Said the girls all at the same time. We just finally got home.

I was thinking to myself that Vivian is about to be home soon from the library.

*******

Vivian's POV.

I was walking back home from the library. I texted my mom that I will be at the park for about thirty minutes. I was enjoying myself swinging on the swings and reading a big book I just took out from the school library. I read until it was getting dark. I was going to walk home, when I spotted a black and white dog alone by itself. I went to the dog to check if there was a tag that said who it belonged to. I saw the pup had a blue leash with a heart shaped stone attached with the name tag engraved with the pup's name and the owner's name on it. The address was on the back. It was a really nice engraving. Now I remember, I am thinking back. I believe I have seen a similar stone like that when I was little, but my childhood memories are bad.

I texted my mom that I was going to help find the dog's home. I walked a few steps while looking up the address on my phone, I saw the house was only six blocks away from the park. I walked to the house in ten minutes. I mean I am a fast walker, so I go there pretty quick. As I went toward the house, the dog suddenly jumped out of my arms. I ran to chase the dog. To my surprise, the dog stopped running after I said stop and come to me now! It looked at me and walked over to me. It stopped at my feet and jumped into my arms. I walked toward the house again. This time the dog stayed in my arms. I tied the dog's leash to the doorknob and rang the bell. Before I left, I put a note on the dog's leash. When the bell rang, I ran quickly away from the house to my house. It was a good thing I am athletic from doing soccer, basketball, and other sports that helped me run fast. I got home and went to my room and found my sister and Abby and, and the girls at lunch time were still doing homework.
