Chapter One

Y/N is a 10 year old orphan who was living with her toxic aunt and uncle. You were coming back to school and someone abducts you.

Y/N's eyes flutter open, her head throbbing. She blinks a few times, trying to make sense of her surroundings. The room is dim, with only a sliver of light coming through a crack in the boarded-up window. Her heart races as she takes in the broken glass, the knife, and the gun lying a few feet away.

Y/N looks down to find her hands and feet bound with thick rope. Panic surges through her, but she takes a deep breath, recalling her jiu jitsu training. She starts to twist her wrists, trying to loosen the knots.

"Hey, you're awake," a gruff voice echoes through the room. Her eyes snap towards the doorway, where a tall, muscular man stands, his face shadowed. "Kazuo Nishimura," she thinks, the name sending chills down her spine.

Kazuo steps closer, a sinister smile spreading across his face. "Didn't expect a little girl to be so much trouble," he says, drawing a knife from his belt.

Y/N's mind races. She needs to act fast. Her fingers continue to work at the ropes, and she feels them begin to give way. "Why are you doing this?" she asks, trying to buy time.

Kazuo laughs. "Because I can," he replies, his eyes gleaming with malice. He lunges towards her, knife in hand.

With a sudden burst of strength, Y/N breaks free from the ropes just as Kazuo reaches her. She rolls to the side, narrowly avoiding the blade. Grabbing a shard of broken glass, she slashes at his leg, causing him to stumble back.

"You're going to regret that," Kazuo growls, his knife now aimed at her with deadly intent.

Y/N springs to her feet, her training kicking in. She dodges his attacks with swift, precise movements. As Kazuo swings the knife again, she catches his arm, twisting it and forcing him to drop the weapon. He yells in pain but manages to land a punch on her left arm, where the knife grazes her sleeve, leaving a deep, stinging cut.

Ignoring the pain, Y/N kicks the knife away and goes for the gun. Kazuo grabs her from behind, but she counters with a well-practiced jiu jitsu move, flipping him over her shoulder and slamming him onto the ground.

Desperate, Kazuo scrambles to his feet, but Y/N is faster. She grabs the gun, aiming it at him. "It's over, Kazuo," she says, her voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through her veins.

Kazuo laughs again, a hollow, menacing sound. "You think you can scare me with that?"

Without hesitation, Y/N fires. The gunshot echoes through the abandoned house, and Kazuo collapses, a look of shock frozen on his face.

Breathing heavily, Y/N lowers the gun. She tears a piece of fabric from her shirt to wrap around the cut on her arm, wincing at the pain. She takes a moment to collect herself, then heads towards the door.

Y/N opens the door cautiously, the gun still clutched tightly in her hand. Standing in front of her are two figures: a man and a woman, both dressed in dark, tailored suits. Their expressions are serious, but there's a flicker of surprise in their eyes when they see her.

The woman steps forward first. "I'm Akiko Takahashi, and this is my brother, Hiroshi. We're here for Kazuo Nishimura," she says, her eyes narrowing as she looks past Y/N into the room. "Where is he?"

Y/N glances back at Kazuo's lifeless body sprawled on the floor. "He's...he's dead. I had to stop him, he abducted me and..." she replies, her voice wavering slightly but holding firm.

Hiroshi raises an eyebrow, clearly impressed. "You killed him? A ten-year-old girl?"

Y/N nods, gripping the gun tighter. "I didn't have a choice."

Akiko and Hiroshi exchange a look before Akiko speaks again. "Kazuo was a traitor to our organization, The Phoenix. We were sent to eliminate him, but it seems you've done our job for us."

Y/N takes a step back, unsure of their intentions. "Are you going to hurt me?"

Akiko shakes her head. "No. In fact, you may have just saved us a lot of trouble."

Hiroshi steps forward, his expression softening slightly. "You're brave, kid. What's your name?"

"Y/N," she replies, lowering the gun slightly but not letting her guard down completely.

"Y/N, you should come with us," Akiko says. "It's not safe here, and you need medical attention for that cut."

Y/N hesitates, then nods. "Okay, but...what happens to me now?"

"We'll take you somewhere safe," Hiroshi assures her. "You won't be alone."

Y/N follows them out of the abandoned house, her mind racing. As they walk, Akiko glances down at her. "You're tough, Y/N. The Phoenix could use someone like you. Think about it."

Y/N doesn't respond, focusing instead on the path ahead. For now, she just wants to be somewhere safe, but she knows she'll have to make decisions about her future soon. With Akiko and Hiroshi leading the way, she feels a glimmer of hope that she might find a new beginning, even after all the darkness she's endured.

She takes a deep breath and decides to share more about her situation.

"I don't have anywhere to go," Y/N begins, her voice small but determined. "I live with my aunt and uncle, but they're...they're not good people. They're toxic. They don't care about me, and I can't go back there."

Akiko glances at Hiroshi, then back at Y/N. "What do you mean by 'toxic'?"

Y/N hesitates, then continues, "They treat me like I'm a burden. They're always yelling, and they make me feel worthless. It's like I'm invisible unless they want to blame me for something."

Hiroshi frowns. "That's no way for a kid to live."

"No," Y/N agrees. "It's not."

Akiko stops walking and turns to face Y/N, kneeling down to her level. "Y/N, you don't have to go back there. We can help you. You deserve to be somewhere where you're safe and cared for."

Y/N feels a lump in her throat. "But...why would you help me? You don't even know me."

Akiko places a gentle hand on Y/N's shoulder. "We know enough. You're brave and strong. You did something incredible back there, and you shouldn't have to face the world alone. The Phoenix takes care of its own."

Hiroshi nods in agreement. "We'll make sure you're safe, and we'll figure out what to do about your aunt and uncle. They won't be able to hurt you anymore."

Y/N blinks back tears, feeling a surge of gratitude. "Thank you."

Akiko smiles warmly. "Let's get you patched up first. Then we can talk more about what comes next."

They continue walking, and Y/N starts to feel a sense of hope she hasn't felt in a long time. As they reach a sleek, black car parked at the edge of the deserted street, Hiroshi opens the door for her.

"Get in, Y/N," he says. "This is just the beginning. We'll take care of you from now on."

Y/N climbs into the car, the weight of her past beginning to lift off her shoulders. For the first time in what feels like forever, she believes that things might actually get better. With Akiko and Hiroshi by her side, she knows she's found allies who will help her navigate whatever comes next.
