Chapter Eight

After all those years, I finally saw him and he looked completely different.
He had  the Bonten insignia tattooed on the front of his neck. His hair is styled in a pinkish-purple shoulder length mullet with his roots and ends dyed dark blue framed his face in a way that felt both unfamiliar and hauntingly beautiful.

He was making his way through the crowd, his expression calm and collected.

He approached me with a polite smile, but there was no flicker of recognition in his eyes. “Shall we?” he asked, extending his hand.

My heart sank, but I forced myself to take his hand. “Let’s,” I replied, my voice trembling slightly.

(Some songs that I literally imagined me dancing with him.)

-> Pal
-> Main Agar Kahoon
-> Janam Janam.

It is in the exact order.

Also Rindou's thoughts would be in bold.

——— the first song plays~

As Rindou's hand found its way to my waist, I felt a pang of disbelief wash over me.

Why does she look so familiar? Where have I heard this name?

With each step, I tried to search his eyes for some semblance of recognition, but they remained blank, devoid of any spark of remembrance.

Why is she looking at me like that? Something isn't right? But when I look into her eyes, there is a lot of things maybe she wants to say, but can't.

I forced a smile, masking the hurt and confusion that threatened to consume me.

Do I even know her? But her eyes say so much.

My heart raced with conflicting emotions. I wanted to reach out, to grasp onto the memories that danced just out of reach, but I couldn't find the courage to break the fragile silence that hung between us.

Our eyes met but before any of us could speak, the song changed to another.

Y/N stumbled slightly, thrown off balance by the sudden change. My grip tightened instinctively, steadying her.

As we danced, the silence between us grew heavy, filled only by the soft strains of the music. I stole glances at Rindou, hoping to find some clue, some spark of recognition in his eyes, but he remained distant, lost in his own thoughts.

As the chorus swelled, I felt a tug at my heartstrings, a wave of emotion crashing over me like thunderstorm. Glancing at Y/N, I noticed tears glistening in her eyes, her expression a mix of sorrow and longing.

The chorus began which hit me hard like a thunderstorm where I am all alone and no one is there. The darkest times. It was like Rindou became a stranger. I longed for Rindou. Then tears glistened in my eyes.

For a moment, I was lost, unsure of what to do or say. But then, as if on instinct, I reached out, gently wiping away her tears with a tender touch. It never happened, me being concerned for someone like that other than Ran and my fellow Bonten members. But who is she?

But then, like a lifeline thrown in the midst of a storm, I felt Rindou's touch, gentle and comforting.

His hand brushed against my cheek, wiping away the tears that stained my face.

"Hey," his voice, soft and soothing, pierced through the chaos around us. "It's okay."

But even as I spoke those words,For a brief moment, I was lost. Why did she look at me with such sadness, as if pleading for answers I couldn't provide?

(Now comes Ran, Rindou and Y/N's pov ...Ran would be simply italic)

The final song began to play, and I felt a sense of tranquility wash over me.

Taking Rindou's hand, I felt a warmth envelop me.

Watching Rindou and Y/N dance, I noticed a change in their movements.

With each step, I lost myself in the music and the gentle sway of our dance.

For the first time in what felt like an eternity, I felt at peace.

It was as if Rindou's touch had transformed the dance.

Beside me, the others stopped dancing, their eyes fixed on Rindou and Y/N.

But this doesn't change the fact, that Rindou has forgotten about me and now he is nothing but a stranger I danced with. All these years, I spent away from this place but by just looking at him, everything hits me.

I never accepted it and I think I will have to accept it, I did fall for this man. I could have said it but...Tears fall from my eyes as the song fades away.

Rindou gave me a courteous nod, his expression unchanged. “It was nice dancing with you,” he said formally and then he came close to me and wiped my tears away from his finger with a tender touch.

"Tears don't suit you,Y/N."

I nodded and gave him a faint smile. "It was nice dancing with you too."

We parted ways and I met Akiko  and went out with her.

As we walked outside, the dam broke, and I started to cry. "He doesn't remember me,Akiko. Those memories...they're gone." I sobbed, feeling the weight of all the lost memories.

Akiko wrapped her arms around me, her presence a comforting anchor. "It's okay, Y/N. We're here for you."

As Rindou and I headed towards the exit, I overheard Y/N’s quiet sobs. She was crying into Akiko’s shoulder, her voice choked with sorrow. “He doesn’t remember me, Akiko. Those memories… they’re gone.”

A pang of sadness struck me. The memories of Y/N and Rindou, their bond, all of it had been erased from his mind. The amnesia had taken away something precious, something irreplaceable. Rindou stood beside me, talking with Sanzu, oblivious to the pain he had inadvertently caused.

After a while, Rindou turned to me, a puzzled look on his face. "Hey Ran, the girl I was dancing with... Y/N, right? For some reason, she was crying."

I glanced at him, masking my surprise. "Yeah, that's Y/N. She's been through a lot."

Rindou frowned, looking thoughtful. "She’s actually pretty. But why was she so upset?"

I sighed, feeling the weight of the situation. "It's complicated, Rindou. There's a lot you don't remember."

Rindou shrugged, seemingly unfazed. "Well, she seemed like a nice girl. Just wish I knew why she was so sad."

I couldn't help but give him a sad tease. "I've never seen you caring about anyone, Rindou."

Rindou glanced at me, his expression confused but curious. "What do you mean?"

I smiled, though it didn't reach my eyes. "Just that it's rare to see you so concerned about someone. Especially someone you just met."

Rindou nodded slowly, still deep in thought. "Yeah, I guess you're right. There's something about her though. I just wish I could understand it."

Y/N told Akiko and Hiroshi everything about that high profile corrupted case because of it she left the job and now The Pheonix is not there with them. So Hiroshi and Akiko talked with people and made Y/N get a job.

Now it was the day of the job interview.

Y/N L/N pov ~

I arrived at the headquarters of Bonten by a taxi. I was looking around but then I heard a voice.

"You must be Y/N L/N." I looked at the guy who had pink hair which are styled in a mullet that reaches down to his shoulders. He has a Bonten tattoo on his right forearm and four piercings on each ear. He had scars on  the side of his lips.

"My name is Sanzu Haruchiyo." He let out a hand which I shook courteously.

"I will take you to the place." He said leading me there.

I nodded and went with him. He reached to a door and opened it. "They are expecting you." He came with me and to my surprise, they were none other than the Haitani Brothers. Rindou looked like as if he'd seen a ghost reminding of the same expression when I met him for the first time and Ran he was smirking.

"Oh, my sister in law is here. Yay." Ran
murmured but I easily heard it. I ignored it and then greeted them.

I was led to a dimly lit basement, where a group of men stood waiting. Their expressions were a mix of fear and defiance, but I felt nothing as I surveyed them with cold detachment.

"So Y/N, your task is to simply kill them. That's it." Rindou ordered.

But as Rindou said these words, Y/N's psychopath phase returned.

Y/N L/N pov~

I simply smiled and asked him,"But sir, killing them would be too boring. These very people have been waiting for their death and judging by their looks and situation they haven't experienced an ounce of torture or bloodshed. They look like they are just told to sit and do nothing and well this basement is all cramped so they can't even escape. So sir, do I have the permission to add some spice?"
