Chapter 10

I sit up in the snow, thankfully it was as Kristoff said, just like a pillow. I dig myself out as Kristoff helps Anna out of the snow. A lock of white hair falls in front of my face. I pick at it with my fingers "oh no."

I look over at Anna who's hair is also turning more white.

"Anna."

"(y/n). Your hair too."

"We'll figure something out." I say.

Anna looks down at her hair. "Does it look bad?" She asks Kristoff.

"...no."

"You hesitated." Olaf states.

"What? No I didn't. Anna, (Y/n) you two need help. Come on." Kristoff begins leading us.

"M'kay. Where we going?" Olaf asks.

"To see my friends." Kristoff explains.

"The love experts?" Anna asks.

Kristoff nods, "Uh-huh. And don't worry, they'll be able to fix this."

"How do you know?" I ask.

"Because I've seen them do it before." Kristoff says.

Elsa POV

I pace around the room muttering to myself. I can't believe I hurt (y/n), again. "Get it together. Don't feel. Don't feel. Don't feel." I wipe away a tear that slipped down. "I'm sorry, (y/n). So sorry." I look around at the walls that are now covered in needle-like spikes of ice slowly growing.

"Oh (Y/n) what have I done?" I feel for the locket around my neck, though it calms me a little it fails to put a leash on the storm inside me.

Forgive me Anna.

Forgive me (y/n)... "I love you."

(Y/n) POV

The stars twinkle brightly in the sky and ribbons of light dance through the darkness, illuminating the path before us. I smile slightly and hug my cloak tighter around me as I walk. I glance briefly down at my arm and pull up the sleeve. The cut has gone from red to blue. Icy white particles create patterns on my skin.

Anna shivers ahead of me.

"Are you cold?" Kristoff asks.

"A little." She admits.

Kristoff hesitates putting his arm around her. I smile at the gesture. He notices an air vent and leads us over. Both me and Anna stick our hands out towards the warm air. I hum in delight at the warm curling around my fingers. We begin walking again and Kristoff explains how his friends are like family and took him in when he was a boy.

We stop at a small circle, inside sits a bunch of round rocks. Something about these rocks seems different. I step forward to examine them while Anna and Olaf stare in confusion. Olaf tries to get Anna to run, believing Kristoff to be crazy.

Something about this place seems familiar to me, like I've seen it in a book. Long ago I would spend all my hours in the library, reading books and legends. I search my mind for why this place is familiar.

"Trolls." I say out loud. "We're at the troll's valley." As I say that the rocks begin moving and rolling around. They surround Kristoff and celebrate that he's home while I stand next to Anna.

"Trolls." She says softly. I hum and nod in agreement. "They're trolls!" Anna exclaims and all the trolls turn to look at us.

"He's brought home girls!" the female troll cheers.

"Girls!" The rest cheer. Suddenly we're both lifted and rolled over to Kristoff. I land on my feet and Anna lands in his arms.

"What's going on?" I ask.

"I've learned to just roll with it." Kristoff says.

The mother troll begins examining Anna. "Let me see. Bright eyes. Working nose. Strong teeth. Yes, yes. She'll do nicely for our Kristoff."

"What?"

"Wait, wait, wait! Oh. Um...no." Anna says and Kristoff looks embarrassed.

The troll turns to me. "Sorry no."

"You've got the wrong idea." Kristoff says. "No. That's not why I brought them here."

"Right. We're not. I'm not... " Anna smiles uncomfortably.

"What's the issue, dear? Why are you holding back from such a man?" The troll nudges her.

I watch in fascination as the trolls dig and create an arch for Anna and Kristoff. A priest troll rolls in front of them and pulls out a book. "Do you, Anna, take Kristoff to be your trollfully wedded..."

"Wait what?" Anna asks.

"You're getting married." the troll deadpans.

"I see a flash in the sky and my heart goes numb. I see four strange symbols flash before my eyes before they vanish and my legs give out. The trolls around me catch me and lower me to the ground. Anna too is held up by Kristoff's arms.

The trolls part and an older looking troll rolls through the crowd. "There is strange magic here." He says.

"Grand Pabbie." Kristoff says.

"Come, come. Bring them here to me." he says.

The trolls help me sit closer to the older troll and Kristoff brings Anna to the edge of the hole.

Grand Pabbie grabs each of our hands and looks between me and Anna. "Anna, (Y/n), your lives are in danger. There is ice in your heart, put there by your sister." he looks at Anna. "If not removed, to solid ice will you freeze, forever."

"What? No" I say.

"But you can remove it, right?" Kristoff asks.

"I cannot. I'm sorry, Kristoff. If it was her head that would be easy, but only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart." Grand Pabbie explains.

"An act of true love?" Anna asks.

"A true loves kiss perhaps." One of the trolls suggest and the rest mimic kissing noises.

Both me and Anna shiver again and collapse.

"Anna, we've got to get you back to Hans." I say.

"But what about you?" She asks.

I remain silent and don't meet her gaze. Grand Pabbie looks at me with what seems to be pity.

Anna agrees finally and Sven pulls the two out of the hole. I stand up and climb on the back of Sven, weakly wrapping my arms around Kristoff's waist. I look over my shoulder at Olaf. "O-Olaf!"

"Coming!" He shouts. He jumps on Sven as well, "Let's go kiss Hans! Who is this Hans?" Olaf asks.

I shake my head lightly before tucking my head into Kristoff's back to keep the cold out.
