Silent Ride Home

Kels POV:

"Yo where the fuck Jordan at?" Cheyenne says as soon as she hears my voice.

"With her girl, what you want?" I ask already annoyed.

"Tell her I said call me when she gets the chance or just fucking text back." She yells in my ear.

"Calm down girl, I got you." I say to get her to stop yelling so obnoxiously.

  "Thank you." She hangs up.

I yell Jordans name and throw her her phone. "Don't put me on the phone with that bitch again." I demand.

Jordan catches her phone. "Whatever, y'all ready to go?" She asks. We all agree and head out the door.

When we get to Jordans car me and Danica are sizing each other up and simultaneously thinking about who'll get the passenger seat. Unfortunately, Danica makes it there before me. I roll my eyes and get into the back seat.

Jordan's music plays and I tell her to let me connect my phone to the Bluetooth. She agrees. My phone connects and the song "Sleep Deprived" by Dreamville bursts from the speakers.

"Yo, turn that shit down!" I say over the music and hit Jordan on her shoulder.

"Okay calm down!" Jordan shoots back. "And stop fucking hitting me."

  I laugh at that.

Jordan turns the music down and begins to pull out of the garage. Danica's quiet.

"You good girl?" I say leaning over her seat waiting for her answer. She nods her head.

"Sit the fuck back and put on your goddamn seatbelt!" Jordan yells at me.

"I ain't ever riding with you again." I say under my breath.

"Say it with yo chest son." Jordan says.

"I ain't ever riding with yo ass again!" I say back.

"Fuck up and sit back." Jordan says as we begin to drive out of the neighborhood. I do as I'm told.

  Danica still sits there quiet.

"Yo Danica, you gotta say something ma, you making the car a little awkward." I point out.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I just don't have anything to say." She says calmly then looks out the window.

Jordan looks over at her then back at the road before taking Danica's hand into her own. Danica slides her hand out from Jordan's grip.

  Ooouu shit.

Jordan puts both her hands back on the steering wheel and doesn't say anything either.

  I'm ready to go.

I let the song play and I let the two of them go through whatever they're going through.

A good 45 minutes later, we pull up at the Trap House Museum. From the outside it looks boring as hell.

A man directs us on where to park and Jordan hands him $20 for the parking fee. Ridiculous.

When we get out of the car, we stand in a decent sized line and are told to fill out waivers.

"The fuck we gotta fill out waivers for?" I whisper to Jordan.

"Man, I don't know, just do that shit." She fires at me.

"I'll deadass go home Jordan..." I say with frustration.

Danica looks at me. "Jordan's not doing it on purpose, please don't go home." She pleads.

I nod my head. "At least I know one person wants me here." Directing my gaze at the back of Jordan's head.

We all finish our waivers and are allowed to go into the Trap House. When we step in, I'm instantly taken aback because it looks like a gas station. But this is a House. I disregard it. We pay our fee to enter the museum and then we are directed into the next room; the Bando.

(Not going to go much further into detail just because I don't want to ruin it for anybody who wants to or plans to go there).

I begin to wander on my own and leave the awkward third wheel position I was forced into.

I see a girl glancing at me from a far but quickly get distracted by the creativity and the time it took to put this place together.

Jordan and Danica are nowhere to be found, fortunately.

I begin to walk around again. I see the girl once more but this time, she walks up to me.

  "Wassup." She says soothingly.

"Wassup." I say back, not giving her much attention.

"You a fine jhit." She says back.

"Thank you." I respond, once again paying her no mind.

"You not gon' look at me?" She asks.

I stop looking around and playing with things and look up at her. I'm 5'9 and she's about 5'11 or so.

  "Happy now?" I ask rhetorically.

"Very much so pretty." She says, using her eyes to size me.

Her eyes work their way down my body and it seems as though she enjoys what she sees.

"Yo, my face up here." I say to her.

She immediately fixes her eyes back on my face.

"My bad." She says with a soft chuckle. "What's your name?"

"Why?" I ask just to be complicated.

"Because I want to know your name love." She answers back.

  "It's Kels, what's yours?" I ask.

"Makayla." She answers back. "Can I have your number Kels?" She adds.

"You not ready for this." I say back and continue looking around at the objects.

"Well, let me give you my number so just in case you change your mind, you can hit my phone." She suggests.

I smack my teeth and take out my phone. I see her smile widen. I unlock my phone and go to contacts and add a new one. I pass her my phone. She types her number and saves her name under "Trap House."

  "Trap House?" I question.

"Yeah, we at the Trap House." She explains briefly.

I nod my head, "Okay then."

She gives me one more good look before stepping away and walking back to her crew.

I glance one more time at the name and shove my phone back into my pocket. I see Jordan and Danica talking in a corner and go towards them. Their conversation abruptly ends as though I've interrupted.

"You ready to go?" Jordan asks.

  "I mean I guess." I answer back.

"Cool, let's go." Jordan says walking towards the Bando. We follow behind her.

Danica seems a little off so I begin conversation.

  "You good girl?" I ask.

"I'm fine, thank you for asking Kels." She answers back so sweetly.

"I know my sister can be an ass sometimes." I explain to her.

"No, I'm okay." She says with an awkward laugh.

  "Just making sure." I respond.

  "Thank you." She answers back.

We're at the car now and this time, Danica allows me to sit in the front. We drive home in silence. I keep my eyes peeled on my phone the whole ride.

I knew I should've stayed my happy go lucky ass at home.
