Death.

Kaneki gazed at the sleeping form of the man next to him. He looked so peaceful in his sleep. No frowns of frustration. No worry lines, just pure bliss.

"I've have to leave sweetheart." Kaneki said softly and planted a kiss on Aizawa's forehead.

Aizawa surprised Kaneki pulled himself even closer to Kaneki in replied, "Just five more minutes?"

"Five more minutes." Kaneki agreed.

Thirty minutes later Kaneki was in the kitchen making two mugs of coffee and Aizawa was outside having a smoke.

"How are you?" Kaneki asked as he sat down.

"Kinda glad I can't walk anyway." Aizawa replied and leaned into Kaneki. "You'll come back here tonight?"

"Of course."

Their tranquility was interrupted by Kaneki's phone going off. Kaneki pulled the device out of his pocket and answered it.

"Hello?"

"My Lord, we lost Detroit." Uta said on the other side. "There is a tonne of injured here and we have no idea how many died."

"I'm on my way now. Get Kurogiri to warp the critically injured to the infirmary." He hung up the phone and quickly kissed Aizawa. "I'll see you later."

Activating his Kakuja for the much needed speed boost, Kaneki ran off desperately hoping that his Shoto was okay.

Izuku was doing his best to help, but there was so many wounded  and more was pouring in by the minute.

"Izuku, have you seen Touya?" Hinami asked desperately.

"Yes. He's over by Uta getting his stomach stitched." Izuku replied.

"Am I allowed to go over there?"

"Uta may say no, but I'm going to say yes. He's in a bad way."

Izuku watched as Sensei's eldest daughter made her way over to her beloved.

Izuku continued to assist the group effort until he came across Shoto's body. Bones poked out from his torn flesh. Holes peppered his body and he was laying in a pool of his own blood.

'First Denki and now Shoto.' Izuku thought as he tried to hold himself together. As he went to mark Shoto as dead he witnessed a miracle, the rise and fall of Shoto's chest as he breathed.

"We have one in critical condition over here!" Izuku yelled, catching the attention of Sensei.

"Holy shit." The white haired man said as he scooped up the broken body.

"D-dad. Where are you?" The boy called out in his sleep.

A look of pain crossed Sensei's face as he carried Shoto over to Kurogiri.

As Izuku was about to pick up a corpse his phone started to ring, as did dozens of others. Frowning in confusion Izuku answered the phone. "Hello, Izuku here."

"Babe, I don't have much time so listen." Momo said, clutching at both her phone and stomach. "A nuclear warhead is headed directly for Deikeda   city, and there is something I have to tell you. Do you remember last month during the full moon at the lake?"

"Yes." Izuku asked, his voice wavering. "It was one of the best nights of my life."

"Well something came of it. I wanted to tell you when I came back from managing  Deikeda, but I guess I won't be able to now. I'm pregnant Izuku."

Izuku didn't reply but she could hear his tears on the other end of the line.  "Be strong Izuku." She said. "Don't give up. Keep fighting. I love you."

"I love you too." Izuku replied.

Momo looked up to the sky, tears pouring down her face. She would meet her death standing on her feet.

"You would have made an amazing mother." Izuku said.

"And you would have made a beautiful father." She replied.

The bomb hit and she knew no more.
