Cochlea.

The all to familiar sensation of the Kakuja burned through Kaneki's body. He no longer had any control of his body, mind or reactions and it was driving him insane. The world around him passed by in a blur or white, grey and black.

Suddenly, Kaneki was drawn back into that odd realm in his head. Sitting on the chairs around him were the usual people. The version of him when he was week. The psychotic part of him. Haise Sasikai and Nagishka was there as well. Rize Kamishigro was also present. However, there was also several new people. Touka and Ichika sat together with Denki by their side and sitting on his own was Yamori.

"Daddy!" Ichika yelled as she ran over and hugged him.

Stunned Kaneki just stood there, mouth agape.

"Absolutely pathetic." The psychotic part of Kaneki said, a sentiment which was echoed by Yamori.

"You know Kaneki, when I gave you control back I thought you could at least handle yourself." Haise said with a sigh. "But, it would appear I was wrong."

"H-hey guys, maybe we shouldn't be that harsh on him." The weak version said, already on the verge of tears.

"I agree with Yamori on this one." Touka said. "You were the One Eyed King. You fought Kishou Arima and won. You also bested Fururta. Surly you should be used to these deaths by now."

"So, all of that training on control was for nothing then?" Denki scoffed. "What a hypocrite."

"I DON'T KNOW HOW!" Kaneki screamed at them.

"I gave you method on how." Yamori replied disappointedly.

"Have you learnt nothing Kaneki?" Rize asked. "I thought that life lesson you learnt at the hands of Yamori was memorable."

Kaneki was just about to say something when Nagishka interrupted. "Listen up bud, what these guys are trying and completely failing to say is that you have everything you need with you. Stop clinging onto the old world. We are dead and nothing can change that. That doesn't mean forget about us either, but go out there and live. For once live Kaneki. Enjoy yourself and have fun."

Kaneki stood there stunned by his friend's words.

"Don't be sad daddy."  Ichika said and attempted to wipe his tears away. "You still have Hinami, Izuku, Momo and all the others. I'll wait for you on this side." And just like that his little girl ran off into the mist.

Touka walked over to Izuku and pecked him and the lips. "Don't shoulder this all on your own again. You have a strong man waiting for you, don't be a dick."

One by one all of the figures disappeared into the mist until only Yamori remained.

"I'll only say this once." The cruel man said. "Remember what I got you to do to stay councious whilst tearing you apart."

Just like that Kaneki was back in reality, still traped in the Kakuja.

'What he got me to do?' Kaneki thought. 'As if I could ever forget.'

After several moments of hesitation he began counting backwards from one hundred in multiples of seven, following Yamori's advice. By the time he got to zero he was in complete control of his Kakuja for the first time.

"Now, let's see what I can do." Kaneki muttered out loud.

Ayato was crouched on a railing, looking down at the ground trying to figure something out when Kaneki appeared. The King was in his Kakuja form, but something was off about it. His movements appeared purposeful, fluid and all most calculated.

"Holy shit." Ayato said as he figured it out. "Ya damned in-law. Over here!" Ayato yelled and waved his hands.

In a matter of seconds Kaneki was by Ayato's side. "What is it?"

"Look at the floor and tell me what do you see."

Kaneki leaned on the rail and looked down for a minute or two before laughing. "The rat was right! They placed Cochlea under Tartarus!"

Fear flooded Ayato's system. Kaneki did not laugh. He very rarely even smiled. What had happened in the passed thirty minutes since he saw he King?

"Give me a minute." Kaneki said and leapt over the edge. As he fell he flipped upside down and slammed his Kakuja into the centre and proceeded to force the door open.

"Call the others, we have a raid to finish." Kaneki ordered.

If Ayato was scared before, now he was terrified. Kaneki never asked for help. In fact the last time Ayato and Kaneki fought side by side was because Ayato threated to follow him any way.

"O-on it." Ayato replied.

Shoto looked around at the gathered group with worry. Where was Denki? Everyone else was here but not him. Sensei walked over to him and pulled him into a hug, before squatting down to look him in the eyes.

"Unfortunately, Sma- Denki didn't make it." Sensei said softly. "Would you like to come with me so we can take him home?"

Tears filled Shoto's eyes and he nodded, not trusting himself to speak.

"Ayato, organise the prisoners and call Kurogiri for pick up." Sensei ordered and took Shoto's hand.

It only took them ten minutes to find Denki's body. Shoto ran over to his beloved and collapsed. He clutched at both pieces of Denki and cried for several minutes before Sensei squatted next to him. "We have to leave now Candy Cane. Do you want to me to carry him or do you think you can manage?"

"I can manage." Shoto replied and scooped up Denki's body.
