Oh my gosh. Michael is a good kisser. I need to make up with Finnick. And I need to gather my thoughts. Today we arrive in the capital. The games are coming soon. I need to make a good impression. Tatiana comes in a cheery voice.
" Up,up. We have a busy day. Oh my I haven't even thought about clothes" She searches through my closet." What to wear, what to wear"
" Tatiana calm down. Well find something I'm sure. Now I'm gonna take a quick shower and I'll be back."
"Okay honey" Finnick and I have been in an argument for 3 days. When he's at the table and I come out, he storm's off to his room. Michael still talks to me but he doesn't flirt to keep Finnick from getting mad. I wonder if he knows what happened between me and Michael. Anyway I need to get in the shower. When I get out I see Finnick leaning on the wall, waiting impatiently.
"Finnick"
"Brooke." there's a long pause
"Tatiana sent me to pick an outfit for the capital to help create your image. I couldn't find anything so I used the dress you wore for the reaping"
"Thanks" he nodded. Just before he stepped out of the room I said
"What is my image"
"Wouldn't you like to know."
I scoffed.
"Finnick I get your mad at me but is this nessasary. I mean once I go the arena you never have to see me again. Even if I do win we can just part ways."
"I don't want to do that."
"Why not"
"Because even if I'm mad I care about you."
"Is that so" why am I so determined to win this battle?
"Yes Brooke I'm very fond of you"
"Oh" why was I expecting him to say something like I love you? Who am I kidding he wouldn't love me. I'm surprised he even talks to me. He has many others who love him. I think I love Finnick. I should just forget it so I don't have to be heartbroken and dead.
"Your image is sexy"
"Okay. Finnick can we talk."
"Of course" he patted my bed so I sat next to him.
"Have you ever been in love"
"Yes, why?"
"I'm just curious. Can you tell me about it" He hesitated.
"Um, sure. There is this girl named Annie. She won the 70th hunger games. I told her I loved her and we tried dating. I guess we both decided it was best to see other people."
"Oh. Do you love anyone now?"
" Yes I think I do actually." could it be me? Who am I kidding.
"She dosent love me though."
"I'm sure she does. Just give her time"
"I'm afraid I don't have any"
"Why not"
"Because she's going into the games!" it is me.
"I love you too finnick."
He looked up at me and smiled.
" I love you so much,Brooke"
That brought tears to my eyes. Tears of joy.
"That was beautiful love" I tried imitating Finnick causing him to chuckle. Instead of kissing he hugged me and held on tight and we stayed like that I don't know how long before Tatiana chipped.
"We're here. Come and greet your sponsors" I walked to the window and smiled a real smile. I waved as the crowd cheered. Finnick then came by my side and interlaced his fingers with mine. There could not be a more perfect moment. Until I saw Michael.
