vii- jessica's new dog

"REMUS, WAIT UP!" Jessica shouted running towards the sandy haired man.

Remus turned around, and stopped walking. He had a quill, and a bunch of papers in his hands, "yeah?"

"I, uh, need to talk to you about something," Jessica said, hoping he would get a hint, and added quietly, "in private."

He nodded sceptically remembering the events of last night, his gaze automatically shifting to the bite marks Jessica had made on his hand as she turned red, and indicated her to follow him to his office. When reaching there, he held open the door for her and closed it behind himself after entering.

"Well?" He questioned.

"First of all, I'm sorry for biting you, I kind of lost my temper there, but I have to tell you something else... something imporant," Jessica scratched the back of her neck awkwardly, "Okay, so what I'm about to tell you — it's crazy, and at first I didn't believe it, so, I've brought proof for you to believe me."

Jessica very slowly brought out the Marauders Map from her pocket for dramatic effect. Despite the serious situation, she had a knack for drama, which she had inherited from Sirius.

"The Marauders Map?" Remus blurted out, blinking at her, "Where did you get it? I thought it was lost forever!"

"Fred and George nicked it from Filch's office," Jessica chuckled lightly, "but anyway," Jessica put the map away, "Last night, I was sitting in the Great Hall with the twins, Aiden, and Natalie, when the window behind us vanished —"

"Vanished?" Remus said sharply.

"Don't interrupt me, Remus. Yes, vanished. Then, a rock hit the back of my neck, and I caught a glimpse of something moving outside." Jessica said.

Remus gulped, "I don't like the sound of that. You should've told me immedietly! It could have been dangerous!"

"Oh it was dangerous! But not in the way you think," Jessica said, "I wanted to go outside and take a look, because I had my suspicions that it was Sirius Black."

"Why would you do that?!"

"I said, don't interrupt me, Remus, or I won't tell you anything." Jessica warned, and mumbled under her breath, "Drama queen."

"Hey! I heard that!" Remus said.

"Okay, so I told the others that I was going to go outside, because they had already witnessed all this —"

"And how did you plan on getting outside? There were serious enchantments on the gates and on all of Hogwarts." Remus said.

"The others protested that they wanted to go with me too," Jessica said, ignoring Remus' previous statement, "and I knew they were so dang stubborn, that they wouldn't take no for an answer. We did it together. We got out of the castle because of the map," Jessica pointed at the map.

"What happened when you got outside?" Remus asked.

"I saw Sirius Black." Jessica said, waiting for Remus' reaction. She quickly covered Remus' mouth, to muffle his screams, "Oh my god Remus! Cut it the hell out!"

"You saw Sirius Black, and you're telling me this now?!"

"Listen to me, Remus Lupin!" Jessica said.

After that, Jessica told Remus all that Sirius had told her. His eyes bulged out of their sockets when she told hum about Pettigrew, but Remus said that he didn't believe it.

"I know, I didn't believe either. But you will believe it, when you see this." Jessica opened the map, and showed Remus where Peter Pettigrew's name was written.

"I — what — how is this possible? He's with Ron Weasley?"

"Yes. He's Ron's rat, Scabbers." Jessica said gravely.

Jessica walked towards the Three Broomsticks with Remus, Fred, and George close at heel. Aiden and Natalie were keeping look out, near the back of the pub to see that no one goes there.

I was stopped abruptly by an eager looking Oliver Wood, "Hey Black!" he spotted my company, "Morning Weasleys, Professor Lupin." he nodded, and turned his attention back on me, "So, the Quidditch tryouts are starting soon, and I was wondering if you wanted to try out?"

I scratched my chin, "Why are you asking me after four years though?"

Oliver blushed bright red, "Well, um, this is my last year, and Gryffindor haven't won once since Charlie left, and I really want to win — this is my last chance. The team's great, but well, Alicia has been very distracted lately . . . and Fred and George told me you liked Quidditch, but you didn't join since there were no free spots for Chasers, I thought I'd ask you."

"Oh, well alright, sure." I said and he seemed relieved, "When are the tryouts anyway?"

"Tomorrow." Fred said before Oliver could answer.

"Alright, I'll be there." I smiled.

As soon as Oliver left, we continued sneaking behind the pub, trying our best not to look like a bunch of burglars.

I immediately spotted an over eager black dog, with hus tounge hanging from his mouth. He barked happily upon seeing us.

He greeted Fred and George by enthusiastic licks, while he turned into his human form, to hug me.

He withdrew his arms from me, and looked towards Remus, who looked lost for words, and slightly out of breath.

"Mr. Lupin." Sirius said, fake formally.

"Mr. Black," Remus said sort of uneasily,  but all of his uneasiness vanished into thin air as Sirius threw his arms around Remus who hugged him back, "I can't thank you enough for keeping Jessica safe, Moony."

"It was my job, Padfoot. Who else did she have?" Remus mumbled humbly.

Jessica coughed and said "Yeah, the emotional stuff is really cute and all, but we have business to deal with, guys. Don't I have a pet to get?"

"Wait," Sirius said, "one question first." he pointed to Fred and George, "are one of these your boyfriend or something?"

"No! What the hell, Padfoot? That's the first question that comes to your mind?" Jessica asked, as Fred and George chuckled.

"You're saying that's weird?" Remus asked, "You should hear about the time he drizzled ketchup on vanilla ice cream, and said that it was the best thing he had ever tasted."

"Okay, that's messed up." Jessica agreed.

"Anyway, if you're done saying all that right to my face, might I add, we should get moving." Sirius stuck out his tounge.

"Real mature." Jessica rolled her eyes.

It's just so ironic. Here everyone is, trying to block Sirius Black out of Higwarts, and here he is, trotting about, happily into Hogwarts, in plain view of everyone.
