That mini bike trip to the beach was overall actually pleasant. I mean, we had a few bumps here and there but hey, we made it, right? I'll never forget the feeling of Coco's chest against my back, though. They felt really soft and enormous. God. What am I thinking?

I snap back to reality when I hear waves hitting the shore. I look around and spot two awfully obvious and distracting umbrellas. '#Team(Y/onut' and '#TeamJazuki' were printed on the top with stars drawn around the names. Under the umbrellas were a slender woman and a muscular man. They looked like they were 21, but in reality they were in their 40's. Those people were our parents. I looked to Jack and nodded. He pats my shoulder reassuringly. We turned around to face our friends. "Can you guys stay here for a moment?" I asked. "Our parents just came back from visiting the Philippines for a few months and they might be a little too excited to see us again." Jack continued, "And we don't want you guys to be overwhelmed with questions and stuff." They all nodded, understanding the situation. We turned back around and I said to Jack, "I wonder how many questions Mom will have this year."

Last year~

"Mom meet my girlfriend, Yuri. She's a writer, her pen name is Tox. She specializes in fiction." Jack introduced the black-haired girl. "N-Nice to meet you ma'am." She bowed politely in front of the woman. "What kind of fiction do you write?" Was the first question out of the mother's mouth. "Romance, ma'am." "Tell me the title of your most popular one." "The Cafè." "How much money did it make?" "20 thousand dollars." The woman crossed her arms and said, "You may date my son." "I'm glad that you allowed me to, ma'am." "On one condition," she whispered to her ear, "you will break up with him after 5 months." The girl nodded and replied, "I'm willing to do that. He'll find someone better than me, I know it."

Yuri was actually pretty fine about breaking up with Jack. It's almost as if she knew about Azuki coming into his life.

"(Nickname)!" Dad called out to me while Mom called Jack over. We sped up our pace and made it to where they were sitting. "1) Miss na miss ko na kayo!" Said my mother in Filipino. Good thing I took those lessons, the moment they left the house. "2)"Alam po namin, Mom." Jack looks at me questioningly. He didn't take those lessons. I mentally facepalm. I forgot to tell him about it. I whispered to him, "Just go with it." He nods.

"3) Dad, kamusta po yung business trip niyo sa Pilipinas?" "4) Maganda! Nakatikim rin kami nang balut, adobo, at madami pa!" He lets out a hearty chuckle. "Jacky, darling. You told me you have a girlfriend." Mom said happily. "May I meet her?" Jack who was nervously sweating said, "Of course, Mom." He went to get Azuki.

Dad turned to me and said, "How about you, (Nickname)? Have anyone you like?" "Yea-" Before I got a word in, he gave me a noogie. "Make sure she can cook! That's how your mother stole my heart!" He let me go and I saw Mom blushing in embarassment, "Aww sweetie! Stop it~" She giggles and kisses Dad on the cheek. I chuckle at their silliness.

Jack finally comes back with Azuki and she seems to be excited yet nervous. "This is the girl, Mom."

Azuki's POV

"This is the girl, Mom." Jack gestures to me. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss (L/N)." I was doing my best to not let my tail move around too much. "Oh! You're a catgirl, dear?" She asks me. "Yes ma'am." "What's your name, dear?" "My name is Azuki, ma'am." "Where do you work, dear?" "La Soleil." "That's the popular one, isn't it?" I nod. "And what's your cat breed?" "Munchkin, ma'am." "I approve of you. Take care of my little Jacky, alright?" I smile and thank her. She hugs me tight. "Make lots of grandchildren for us!" I felt my face turn into a heavy shade of red. "I think you've teased her enough, honey." Her husband chuckles as she lets go of me. "She can handle it! She's a tough cookie. And I am serious about the grandchildren part." She huffs.

Jack gives my hand a reassuring squeeze. "Welcome to the family, Zuzu." He kisses the tip of my nose.

Your POV

While they were busy talking, I sneaked off to the others.

"How did it go?" Kashou asked. "It went nicely, compared to last year." He nods. "Should we go there, now?" Shigure suggests. "Yup. They should be a little easier on the Q and A." She smiles and grabs Kashou's hand, "Let's go, onii-chan!" He blushes and start walking. Coconut and I follow them. "What are your parents like?" Coco asks me. "They're really nice once you get to know them. Dad is a total teddy bear once he gets comfortable with someone. And Mom is......well Mom. She'll love you to bits if you get her approval, or become her friend." "Are they part-wolf too?" "Only Dad." I explained,

"Dad always told me that Mom liked to take walks in the woods. That's where they met. Apparently Mom was wearing a (F/C) cloak and was visiting her mother at the time, so she brought a basket of muffins and Dad smelled the stuff and literally begged her for one." Coco giggled. "That sounds adorable!" "They kept doing that routine, until Mom and Dad fell in love."

"Jacky, tell your brother to use protecti-" We were nearing my parents and I heard Mom telling Jack about something. But the moment she saw us, she instantly shut up. "I will. Don't worry." What are you two talking about? "Mom! These are our friends." I gestured towards them. "I'm glad that you've made friends while we were gone!" She said, "Go ahead and introduce yourselves."

"Hello Miss (L/N), I'm Kashou, the owner of La Soleil."
"I'm Shigure, his little sister, a worker at La Soleil."
"And I'm Coconut, also a worker."

"All of you work in the same place?" Dad asked me. "Yeah. Also, how did you know Jack and I work there?" "He told us all about it!" Mom revealed, "He even told us about your crush!" After the last word left her mouth, she tried covering it, but it was too late. "Whoops! Well kids! I think it's time for you to have your own fun!" She pushed Jack and I towards the waters, the others following along. "We don't want to ruin your day at the beach!" She waved as she sat down on her beach chair with Dad.

I was silent, but walked to the water until I was neck-deep. I submerged my head under and thought of what sort of plans Mom will think about to get me and Coconut together. After I prepared myself of the many embarassing moments to come, I brought my head back above the water. The others were already putting on sun block and I went over to rub some on my body. I don't wanna get sunburned. As I was about to open the bottle, Coconut came over and asked me if I could put it on her back, obviously I said yes.

She lied belly-down on the beach chair we managed to bring. "Could you untie the strap first, though?" She requested as she moved her hair out of the way. "S-Sure." I gulped and kind of regret my decision of saying yes. Azuki or Shigure could have done this.

My hands were shaking as they approached the ribbon tied neatly on her back. Apparently my brain went on meltdown because I forgot how to untie a simple and easy-to-do ribbon. I fumbled around with it until I got it off. I took a deep breath and squirted some lotion on my hand. I closed the lid and placed it down on the ground. I rubbed my hands together and slowly placed them on her back. I rubbed it slowly on her shoulders first, and then the mid-section and then I went lower and lower until.......Crap! I'm staring at her butt! "Uhh...S-Should I go l-lower or is this good?" I asked her in panic. "Just a bit more, please." I gulped and went as quick as I could, without making her feel uncomfortable. "T-There you go!" I said in a hurry. "(Y/N)?" She turned to face me, her free hand holding her untied top. "Y-Yes?" I asked, still feeling flushed. "Can you do my front, too?" PARDON ME?! "What?" Was all that managed to come out of my mouth. She giggled, "I'm just kidding. Thank you, (Y/N)." "No p-problem." I said dumbfounded at what had happened. I grabbed the bottle and walked towards Jack. I put it on myself and gave it to him. "This was used by a goddess, brother." "And now you're doing the weird thing again." He sighs and rubs some on his arms. "You know, I haven't seen you activate perv mode on girls in a while." "I mean, I have Zuzu now, soo yeaahhh...." "Do you like going down on her?" He turned cherry red at my comment. "No! I mean yes! No wait!" I laugh and pat him on the back, "Come on! Even Mom's encouraging it!" "I wish I wasn't your brother sometimes." He remarked.

"Anyway! Let's go swimming! It's been a while!" I was running at the water, "Water! Let Haru Nanase and I love you!" And I jumped in. It splashed around me, making Azuki, who was chilling by me, wet. "Kyaa! (Y/N), you piece of trash!" She shouted at me. "We're at the beach! You're gonna get wet at least once!" I replied as I grabbed her hand and pulled her waist-deep into the water, while I heard a faint 'That's what she said!' in the background. "I'm so tempted to pull you down, but I'll let Jack do that." I say, swimming around her like a shark. I even did the hand-shark fin above my head. When she finally decided to swim, I left to find the next victi- I mean, person. Yeah. I spotted Coconut by the shore, looking at the sky. Her legs were in the water. Perfect. I started doing the Jaws shark music while my head was going lower into the water.

Kekekekeke she'll be so scared. >=D I prepared myself to grab her legs, until she decided to stand up and get into the water. Nuuu! Don't foil my magnificent plan! I immediately dived lower into the water and away from her. Her back was towards me and I was running out of oxygen. I surfaced for a bit more air. She still didn't know where I was. "Has anyone seen (Y/N)?" She asks Jack and Azuki. They were about to reply, until I formed an X with my arms. Don't do it! I mouthed to them. "We don't know. He's probably underwater somewhere." Thank you, Jack and Azuki. I gave them a thumbs up. My hands were snaking their way around her waist. Don't notice this. Not yet......I pulled her down. She screamed in surprise.

My award was a hit in the face and the satisfaction of scaring Coco.

We were sitting on the shore with Coco telling me that she was absolutely terrified when I scared her and sorry that she hit me in the face. To which I replied with, "It was worth it."

After that whole that whole scene, Dad and Mom bought everyone ice cream. And we spent the entire afternoon playing in the water, tanning, or just chilling.

Evening~

Wow. Evening came by fast. Now. Time to find that music contest happening on the beach. I walked around, looking for a beach house with a stage and chairs around. Now where could th- nevermind. My attention gets stolen by the big stage beside the beach house. I went a bit closer to hear what the host was saying, "Hello everyone! I hope you had a great day! As you may know, there is an annual music contest happening here at Norta Beach! Absolutely anyone can enter! To get everyone nicely hyped up, we're showing off the prizes!" He gestures to a car with a ribbon on top of it. "An amazing 1965 Ford Mustang!" And then he points to a woman carrying a big cheque, "A cash giveaway of ten thousand dollars!" And finally he points to another woman holding 10-ish plane tickets, "And an all expenses paid plane trip to Wales, United Kingdom!" The crowd cheers loudly at the mention of the prizes. Alright. The song is memorized. I looked at the costume in my arms. Costume's good too. All I need is for Alex to arrive with the USB. As if on cue, she came with the USB along with Yuri. Hold on. Yuri?

"We're here!" Alex cheered. Yuri smiles and says, "Are you surprised, Captain?" I smile at the old nickname and take the USB from Alex. "Yeah. I thought you were still in that small town, Vaniville?" She just rubs the back of her head and says, "My parents said I needed a break from writing, so here I am." She smiles sheepishly, "Even my own secretary." I hear the host announce the criteria for winning. "30% for music, 20% for costume, another 20% for the song, and a final 30% for audience impact! Participants, please sign up and get your number from backstage." He finishes, while walking behind a curtain.

"Well gotta go, great seeing you here, Chief." I waved to them, "You too, Alex." I walked towards the stage with the USB carefully tucked inside my pocket. A line of eleven people were standing, waiting to sign up for the contest. I stood in behind the last person which was a girl with brown hair. She turned around, stretching her arms and unexpectedly meeting my gaze. "Oh! Hi. Didn't see you there." I smile and say, "It's fine. My name's (Y/N) (L/N). What's yours?" "Mare Barrow. What are you performing?" She says, noticing the outfit in my arms. "Looks like a good one." "Don't wanna tell my competition." I reply. "A surprise, huh? Well, good luck!" She says turning back around. I noted that I was now third in line. Since when was I here? Meh. At least I don't have to suffer the long line.

Mare finished writing down her name and got her number and it was finally my turn, "Write down your name and song here." The attendant pointed to an empty space under Mare's name. I wrote down my name and song and was given a number tag. "Change to your costume and sit beside the brown-haired girl." He pointed to a changing room and then the seat beside Mare. I thanked him and went to change.

While I was in the changing room, I called Coco and the others on my phone and told them about the contest. "How come you didn't tell us earlier?" "I wanted it to be a surprise." "Fine. Where is it?" "At the beach house. It's hard to miss with the big stage and lights." "Okay. Bye." I ended the call and changed into the yellow-themed clothes. I put on the wig and looked exactly like Len with (E/C) eyes. (Unless you're already a blondie with blue eyes then you just tie up your hair if it's long enough.) "Wow. This is really convincing. All I need is a Rin..." 3...2...1. "I've got it!" I heard Alex shout from outside the room. "I have the dress ready and I'm blonde with blue eyes!" Leave it up to Alex to have everything prepared. "Thanks Alex!" I shout back. I put on contacts, as well as the shoes and gloves. I walk out and I'm met with an interesting scene. "He's mah babeh! I can see him nakey!" Alex wriggles out of a guard's grasp and runs to me, hugging my arm. "She with you?" I nod and ask her, "Did you sign up already?" She smiles a toothy smile and says enthusiastically, "Yep yep! Now let the 14 year old princess change!" "I thought you were 18?" "What are you talking about, brother? We're both 14." She winks awkwardly and walks into the changing room. I shake my head and lean against the wall.

A few minutes (cough years cough cough) later~

"Let's go sit down with Mare, now!" I was just about to take a snooze, when Alex's voice snapped me out of my daze. I lazily nod and rub my eyes with my free hand. I sluggishly follow her next to Mare, but not before passing the USB to the sound crew. "Hi again. What took you so long?" "Well my friend was taking forever to change." I explained, pointing to the blonde beside me. "I didn't see you with him. What's your name?" "Alexandra Blazes. But I like Alex more." She chirps happily, enjoying the company. "Nice to meet you Alex. Do you have any siblings?" "Nope. Even if I did, they can't handle this," She does a pose, "fabulousness~" Mare laughs at her act. "They definitely won't."

They chatted until Mare was called. And then finally us.

"The next perfomance will be by (Y/N) (L/N) and Alexandra Blazes!" We stood up and passed by Mare who gave us some encouragement such as, 'You can do it!' and 'I bet you'll be better than us!'. We thanked her and went up the stairs to the stage. "What will you two sing for our audience?" The announcer asked us. "We'll be singing Servant of Evil, originally sang by the Kagamine Twins." We said into the mic connected to our ears. The crowd roared with enthusiasm. This should have been expected, the Kagamine Twins are popular.

The music begins and we start to sing.

I ended the song by kneeling down in front of Alex while holding her right hand. The crowd was silent for a few seconds until, "OMG WHYYYY??!!" "WOOOOOO!!!" and whistles started happening. I even noticed that some people were wiping their eyes with handkerchiefs.

I stood up and we faced the crowd. I still held Alex's hand and bowed with her. "Thank you everyone!" We walked backstage and saw the host again. "Wow! You guys did awesome! You should come by again next year!" "Thanks, and maybe we'll join again." Alex said for me. We waved goodbye as we, once again, sat beside Mare. "That was shockingly touching. And it was so beautiful too. Are you sure you guys aren't professional dancers?" She nudged my arm. "Come on now. Your band did great too!" I replied, "Plus, The Scarlet Guard is a pretty damn cool name." She blushes lightly, "Farley's still the lead singer, though." She mentions, "Kilorn is most likely jealous of your singing voice and Gisa's probably jealous of how graceful and smooth Alex was."

We were chatting, until Coco and the others came. "That was amazing, bro!" Jack spoke up first. "Thanks Jacky." I said as we did our brother handshake. Alex and I were praised a whole bunch by the group and we felt pretty flustered. Then, the host spoke up excitedly.

"Alright, contestants! Please come on stage and we will begin the announcement of the winners!" All thirteen people, including Alex and I, stood up and went back onstage.

We went in a line, silently hoping that we win first prize. "The third placer is..... Ms. Peregrine and the Peculiar Children!" He exclaimed excitedly, as a group of children and a woman step up to take the prize, the kids cheer as each of them receives a ticket. The woman smiled and took one, while trying to quiet them. "Thank you everyone, for liking the Peculiar Children's performance! We are very grateful for the judges to pick us for one of the winners." The children all said a big 'thank you!' and walked offstage once more. Once the people cheering silenced enough, the host continued, "Now. The second placer is.... The Scarlet Guard!" I saw a blonde-haired woman and brown-haired guy bear hug Mare, before stepping forward. The car was magically parked onto the stage and they stood beside it. "Wow! Uh... We weren't prepared for this but-" Mare got cut off by a pale-skinned guy, "Thank you very much for giving us a spot in the winners, and we hope to perform for you all again." The host smiled brightly and said, "You are all very welcome! Now..." He made a subtle signal for them to go offstage with the car temporarily. "The champions for this annual event are..." All the remaining competitors held their hands together. "(Y/N) (L/N) and Alexandra Blazes!" I let go of the breath I didn't know I was holding and hugged Alex tightly. I whispered in her ear, "Thanks so much for helping me." We let go and she gives me a thumbs up. "No prob, dude! Now let's go and take our prize!" She nudges me forward and she adjusts her mic, "Hello people! I thank you all for voting for us!" (There was a voting while the contestants were offstage.) "And the judges to pick us!" I continued, "We appreciate this opportunity very much and we just can't explain our gratitude for you!" Then Alex finished with me, "Love you all!" The crowd cheered loudly, as we took our cheque and walked offstage.

"We won first place! Now if dat ain't amazing, I don't know what is." Alex told me, and playfully punched my arm. Before I could reply, Mare had called us over to a table, "Hey! Come here. We got free drinks." Alex tries her best to walk briskly over, but is slowed down by the dress. "Damn you, Alphonse and Walter! Y U MAKE DRESS LONG?" A lot of people notice and begin to laugh. I chuckle and pick her up bridal style. "Here you go." I walk over to Mare's table and sit her down on the bench. "Thank you, Servant." "You're welcome, My Lady." I sit down next to her. "Are you two dating or...?" Mare asks. "Nah. We just good friends! Das all! Besides," she takes a sip of her drink, "he's got someone on his radar. If only he was gay, I coulda said gaydar." She sighed. "Yeah. What she said." "YOU'RE GAY?!" Alex stood up, actually shocked. "Yes I am, gurl." I did a stereotypical gay man voice. "Oh my gosh! My first best friend is gay, I have a gay friend!" While I left her to swim in the pool of lies, I continue talking to Mare's friends. "Are you really gay?" The brown-haired guy asked me. "I'm Kilorn, by the way." "Nah. Even if she did find out, she won't be bothered by it." "How long does that usually last?" A blonde-haired woman piped in the conversation. "For a few months. If you're lucky, an entire year." "Nice." "By any chance, are you Farley?" I questioned her. "Yeah. How'd you know?" You're the only one who's still wearing the red scarf. "You have this leader vibe to you." "Really?" "Yeah." I checked my watch and said, "Well, nice seeing you all, but I have to go do something for someone now." I get up and grab Alex, "I'm sure we'll meet again." I wave goodbye to them as we head out of the backstage area.

Almost instantly, I'm tackled by Coconut, as I exit backstage with Alex. "(Y/N) you did absolutely amazing in your performance! I'm so glad you won!" "Hey Coco, sorry I didn't tell you in advance." She lets go and says, "Don't worry about it. It's fine." "I'm gonna leave you two alone, see ya." She walks past Coco and I swear I saw her flash a smug grin. I check my watch again and realize it's almost time. "We should get going, the others should know about it by now." I tell her. "Know about what?" "You'll see." I smile and grab her hand.

I led her to a good viewing place for the surprise. It was a small hill, overlooking most of the beach. "What's this for?" "Just wait. It's starting soon." "What's with you and surprises today?" I looked over to her and she was pouting adorably at me. "Because surprises are meant to be secret." Right as I said that, a pink and blue light flashed, followed by a loud boom that resounded all around. Coco, not expecting it, clutched onto my arm. Seeing as we were alone, I decided to let out my ears and tail. "It's a fireworks show. That's my second surprise for today." I chuckle as she lets go of my arm. "Then what's your last one?" "I'm secretive today, so you won't know." I lie down on the grass with my arms behind my head, "C'mon. Just enjoy the show." She huffs and lays down next to me. More and more lights dance across the sky, with booms following one after the other. "They're very pretty." she says. "But not as pretty as you." I said. I couldn't see her reaction clearly, due to the different flashing lights, but I was sure she was blushing. "That's so cheesy." "I know."

After a while, the final fireworks were launched. They were much more grander than the previous ones. Quite a few people cheered at the colorful explosion. "It's time for the final surprise, Coco." She looked at me curiously, "And it's...?" "This." I gave her a peck on her lips. She seemed startled, but looked as if she wanted more. "I, (L/N) (Y/N), am deeply in love with you, Minaduki Coconut. I feel hot when I'm around you, and I-I get butterflies in my stomach." My ears flattened as I said, "I hope you love me back." I looked down and waited for her response. "Please look at me?" I look at her. But I didn't expect her to lean forward quickly, making our lips connect with each other. I took some time trying to process what had happened. Once I realized it, I melted into the kiss. My tail wrapping around hers, while my arms around her waist. She followed suit by placing her arms around my neck.

When we were running out of air, we parted. "I love you, (Y/N)!" She hug-tackled me to the ground, giving me one last kiss on my cheek. "I love you too, Coconut."
