Huo Buyi and Shao Shang rode in the horse carriage together back to the campsite. During the whole journey, they held onto each other. They cuddled together. After alighting, Huo Buyi sent his men to stand guard further away from his tent. He carried Shao Shang into the tent. While he carried her, Shao Shang asked if she was too heavy. Huo Buyi shook his head. He shared that accordingly to the physician, Shao Sheng was too light, taking into consideration that she was eight months pregnant. Huo Buyi rested her on his bed. They cleaned up and took care of each other wounds.

Huo Buyi sat down beside her. He held her hands and looked intensively into Shao Shang's eyes. He asked again, 'I suppose you have forgiven me right? You promised to give me another chance. I will cherish you and will not let you down ever.'

Shao Shang replied, 'The moment we took that oath, my soul was ignited. I was more determined than ever to never abandon you. Even on the road to Hades, I will be by your side. Just like from you to me, you are the star that lights up my night.' Huo Buyi was extremely touched and he teared up. He felt like all this was a dream, he could not believe what he heard. He inched himself closer to her, he kissed her lips once to express his endearment before pulling himself back again to look into her eyes.

He looked at her passionately and he kissed her the second time. This time he kissed her deeper. He supported her neck using his left hand while he caressed her tummy working his way up to her ear. Huo Buyi whispered into her ear, 'Your scent never fails to reignite a fire deep within me. My concentration splinters every time I run my fingers on your skin like this. This surge in my body makes me want to be entangled with you again. Shao Shang, I want to make love to you. You are intoxicating and being pregnant doesn't change a thing.' Shao Shang pulled herself closer to Huo Buyi, she responded with a kiss and it blew his mind. The kiss was simply so sweet, it tasted just like honey.

Huo Buyi shed off Shao Shang's clothes to bare skin, he kept her warm from within. The night was long and he was extremely gentle with her. He knew the deal was sealed and their love rekindled for real when Shao Shang received him during coitus. Just like the first time, he did it a couple of times until she was sapped. They turned in and rested for the night. The next day, he woke up seeing her by his side. It was such a blissful sight. Huo Buyi went to attend to some work at the front part of the tent after ensuring she was warm and well-covered. Whenever General Huo took a break, he went to her bedside to kiss her on the cheek.

He completed his report and had it sent to the Emperor. Along with this report, he wrote to the Emperor updating the couple's situation. Huo Buyi made arrangements to have a bridewealth sent to the Chengs. He wrote back to have the servants tidy up the mansion up North for Shao Shang and the children. Huo Buyi even delegated his work so that he could spend as much time as possible with Shao Shang during this period. The morning passed briefly and he had accomplished so many things.

By the time Shao Shang was awake, it was noon time. They had lunch together before heading back home to Ping An Town together. Huo Buyi and Shao Shang discussed and worked towards tying up the loose ends of their work on hand and the rebuilding work for both towns. Yi'er was so happy when he saw they both of them returned home hand in hand. Huo Yi ran up and gave them both a big bear hug. He kissed Shao Shang's tummy saying he missed his baby brother too. Both of them sat Huo Yi down and shared their plan with him. Yi'er was nothing but happy. He was excitedly looking forward to the birth of his brother and his new adventure up North.

In the upcoming days, Shao Shang and Huo Buyi worked closely. Both of them would send Huo Yi to school, after which Huo Buyi would oversee some work from camp and the court. Shao Shang would create manuscripts for the common people of Xing Wang Town and Ping An Town. She also worked closely with the architects of both towns and the magistrates. After picking Huo Yi up from school, they would have a family lunch. Both Shao Shang and Huo Yi would then take a nap. During naptime, Huo Buyi would help to ensure Shao Shang's plans for both towns were well executed. In the evening, after tugging Yi'er to bed, the couple would spend time together.

He would take walks with her as it helped in the delivery of the baby. He would fondle her tummy and talk to the baby. He cuddled with her under the star. Huo Buyi assured her that she was still beautiful and attractive despite being slightly big and heavy. Huo Buyi whispered into her ear telling her that she was really irresistible. The couple continued love-making every alternate day.
