Phoenix Wright : Part 3, Forgotten Memories

The Borscht Bowl Club, his new workplace, was having a kind of jazz night, Godot had retired from being a lawyer, instead starting a jazz band. He knew all about Wright's disbarment. It was all over the media, this had been the only club he could get into as it was a criminal bar. This was the last time you were to see him in a suit, considering the forthcoming events.

He had commented on how beautiful you looked. It was as if his charm had never vanished completely, just dulled. Phoenix considered himself as being like a criminal.

Should he be dating a member of the police force? He didn't deserve anybody, definitely not somebody like you.

Taking your hand for a dance, you could afford to talk intimately, whilst simply looking like a couple out for a night.

"Did I tell you that you look stunning?"

Gasping for laughter, your smile was something he knew he would miss. He did. "You do. It's the truth. But there's something else..."

Lifting your head to look directly at him, the pair of you shifted backwards, something you figured he was only doing to get out of the crowd.

Taking your hands in his, he pressed his lips against yours in a romantic kiss, a tear falling between his cheek and yours. "Take that glittering smile and take care of yourself. All I can say is..."

Finding yourself on the wet pavement outside, your heart stopped. "...I'm sorry"

Had you just... Broken up...?

Shuddering at the memories, the tears wouldn't stop. They just fell and fell and fell. Not only had you runaway from your family, instead of confronting him, you had done it again seven years later. Now here you were, in his fucking office. Picking yourself up off the wooden planks exactly where Mia had once lay, a number was dialled into your phone.

When the person picked up on the receiving end, you weren't sure how to put it.

"This is Detective [L/N]. There's been a murder. I'm on the case"

The next morning came and your first stop was the Detention Centre. You couldn't even properly remember the course of events in your mind. The autopsy detailed the victim had died from a stab wound to the chest, but showed other signs of a struggle and a fight.
