LIFE TRIVIA.
backstory
reina was born as the youngest of three girls, their parents leaving all three of them behind in the village cocoyashi. najiko, nami and reina were very soon adopted by bellemere, a woman with red hair and a heart of gold. she was a little strict when it came to raising the three girls but they grew to be amazing human beings, finding their love of a mother in bellemere.

sadly their luck didn't stay all too long, when reina turned 10, the arlong pirates took over cocoyashi and ruled it with violence and bloody murder. the villagers were scared for their lives, being in constant fear of getting killed for doing something wrong.

such as bellemere who got shot by the arlong pirates for protecting her three girls from being taken. witnessing her mom's death traumatized reina enough to willingly do what the pirates wanted from her, being taken with her sisters to live with them and become one of them.

arlong himself sent nami on the mission to find the card of the grand line, knowing her as the cat burglar would get it easily. promising her to leave the village alone as soon as he'd habe the card, the redhead's decision was easy to be made. so nami left behind her two sisters and her adoptive-mother to try and save the island.

she left behind her bracelet for reina, a thing she'd normally never take off. reina still remembered vividly how nami kissed the then 14-year old's head, promising her everything would be fine and she'd come to save them. and then she left without the teen, leaving behind a exact copy of herself with her favourite bracelett and tears on her cheeks.

during nami's abscence, reina was trained by the fish-pirates, needing strong fighters on their side. her favourite weapon was her voice, considering reina had been forced to eat a devil's fruit: the sing-sang-fruit. (it's okay, you're allowed to laugh.) this fruit allows their users to lur every man in their ban whenever the user would sing.

for obvious reasons the arlong pirates banned reina from singing when they were arround, knowing she could play tricks on them. most of her life she lived with a tape over her mouth, silenced with nothing to say as her empty and cold eyes spoke for her.

reina had already given up on nami coming back, considering it had already been a year since she last saw her. that's when she got forced into a marriage with brandon jovero, one of arlong's best men.

the exact day of their wedding was the same day the strawheads came to rescue nami - of which reina hadn't even known of was back in the village in the first place. they basically crashed reina's wedding, leaving her fiancé in a very bad mood.

completely unable to fight brandon, reina was about to get kidnapped to be kept as a wife but lucky her, someone kicked brandon's ass and freed her from him, being carried like a princess. that's where she met sanji vinsmoker.

it's neatless to say she fell head over heels for her hero the same second he helped her with the ropes and the tape, making sure she was fine and safe before going back to kick some more asses.

the next day, the crew was about to leave and reina ran to the bay, begging in tears to be allowed to tag along. she wanted to make sure noone else had to endure the same pain she and her village had to go through, wanted to be able to safe people from pirates like that. and how could luffy say no to her then?

ever since then she had tagged along with the strawheads as their ship singer, happy she finally got to use her voice again and could make people happy with her singing. and now she's ready for new adventures and find her own happiness again.
