Chapter 1

"Goodbye," Kiku said quietly and hesitantly hung up the phone, Alfred on the other line. He sighed. It's like those American horror movies are real now, he thought to himself. He looked at his small television, showing Tokyo being overrun by the zombies who first emerged in California. Those few brave souls attempting to escape their bloody fate are being ripped apart, limb by limb, fleshy chunk by chunk.

Kiku clenched his hand in a fist, "Baka!" He said quietly. He has to do something. He has to get out of here. The zombies aren't around his peaceful old-fashioned home yet, and it won't be long until they come around. He stood up and grabbed his katana, I'll go find Ludwig and Feliciano. I will be able to do something about this with them.

As he placed his hand on the door of his home, he sighed, I used to long to be left alone. Now, being alone may be the death of me. He thought, and opened the door. I won't die alone after so much of my life in solitary.

"Ludwig, I'm scared!" Feliciano exclaimed as he looked up at the German man, "They're everywhere!"

Ludwig sighed through his nose, "I'm afraid they are." He said calmly, though his eyes showed worry. What will happen to Kiku? What will happen to Gilbert? What will happen to Feliciano? He closed his eyes. No. I will protect him. He thought.

There was a knock at the door, and the Italian man jumped and hid behind the couch. Ludwig stood up, and Feliciano grabbed his arm, "Don't go! What if it's a zombie?" He wined, his eyes tearing up.

Ludwig grabbed his gun, pulling his arm away from Feliciano, "Don't be afraid, I'll be here for you." He said. He walked over to the door, and Feliciano grabbed one of the couch pillows and hugged it tightly.

The door knocked again, more frantically this time. Ludwig took a deep breath and opened the door quickly, pointing his gun.

Before he knew what happened, he saw a blur rush past him and the door slammed shut. He turned around and saw an albino man leaning against the wall and breathing heavily. He glared at Ludwig, "West, what took you so long? There are zombies everywhere, you know!" He snapped.

Ludwig sighed with relief, "At least you're safe, Gilbert."

"Barely! Did you know how many thorn bushes I had to go through to avoid those things?" Gilbert said sternly, "And that's not even the worst part. I lost Roderich and Elizabeta, and I have no clue where they are!" Now that the rush is starting to die down, Ludwig realized how scratched up the Prussian was. In some areas, he was bleeding slowly.

"Ciao Gilbert!" Feliciano came in, the shock of the zombie news fading away. I still wonder how he can be so optimistic at times like this. Ludwig wondered.

He shook his head slightly, "Come on Gil', you have to patch yourself up." Ludwig said as he headed towards the kitchen where the first aid kit is kept. Gilbert followed him.

"I bet you were worried about me, weren't you West?" Gilbert said.

"Yes, I was." Ludwig responded, "Just be careful, alright?" He added as he glanced at his older brother. "Don't worry about Roderich and Elizabeta. I'm sure they made their way to Vash's place, since Roderich is a good friend of his."

Gilbert sighed, "Yeah, I guess so."

"Antonio, get over here!" Lovino said as he looked at the television.

"What is it, mi amigo?" The Spaniard asked, walking into the room. He leaned on the couch, looking at the TV as it buzzed about the apocalypse. "Dios mio!"

"That American bastard!" Lovino went on, "It was his fault that this happened in the first place!" He spat.

"Oh Lovino," Antonio said, placing his hand on the Italian's shoulder, "I bet Alfred had nothing to do with this."

Lovino slapped the hand away, "Well I'ma blaming him anyways!" He said and stood up, "Feliciano better not be dead."

Antonio chuckled, "I doubt it, with his novio guarding him all the time."

"What do you mean?" Lovino said, almost growling.

Antonio smirked, "Nothing." He said simply and walked back into the kitchen.

Lovino slouched back down on the couch, "So what are you going to do about it, tomato bastard?"

"About what?"

Stupido! "About the zombie apocalypse!"

"Ah~! Of course!" The Spaniard said cheerfully.

Lovino leaned back on the couch, "You're just as optimistic as my idiot brother!"

"Well," Antonio started, "there's not much use being anything else, now is there?" He said, leaning into the living room with a cheeky grin. "And the only thing we can really do is survive!" He added.

Lovino sighed, leaning of the couch's side, "Tomato head, get me the phone. I'm calling Feliciano." He said, and Antonio turned away.

As he made his way to the phone, he paused and frowned. I hope everyone will be alright...

"Big brother..." Lukas leaned over to Emil, who was sitting at the table annoyed as he tried to read his book.

"Give it up, I'm not going to say it." Emil said.

"Big brother..." He stiffened as Lukas leaned his head on his shoulder.

Emil moved over, "Lukas, stop. I'm reading."

Before Lukas did anything else to annoy Emil even more, Mathias barged into the room, "Hey guys, there's a bunch of freaky zombies everywhere!" He announced and rushed over to the table, opening a world map.

Tino and Berwald followed him into the room. "I think I know where the larger mods of zombies are generally at." Tino said and stood next to Mathias.

"Hold on, zombies?" Emil asked, "Aren't those just in stories and such?"

     "Not anymore!" Mathias said.

"Anyways," Tino started as he picked up a marker, "They seem to be focused in the country capitals." He said and drew some circles in America, "It first started in California, and first raided San Francisco." He started. "It seems that they are targeting places with larger populations, so they spread to Los Angeles, and eventually Washington D.C."

"Especi'lly W'shington D.C." Berwald added.

Lukas nodded, "It makes sense." He muttered.

Tino drew a few more circles, "In Japan, they are mainly focused in Tokyo, and in France Paris. Also London in England and Moscow in Russia, as well as all the other capitals." He said.

"Woah," Mathias stated, "This is bad. Do you know how many people are going to die, and are already dead??" He said.

"I don't want to know." Emil said with a sigh.

"So, what are we going to do about it?" Lukas asked.

There was a long silent pause. "Lets go slay some zombies!" Mathias said enthusiastically, and Lukas face palmed. "But first we need a plan..."

"I'm relieved you are mature enough to think of that before running off and doing something ridiculous." Lukas said.

Curse this disease. Now the human race is doomed to extinction! Elizabeta thought to herself as she pointed a gun at a zombie in the distance as she raced through the woods. Where in the world did Gilbert and Roderich go?

More zombies were coming, and Elizabeta no longer knew where she was anymore. She knows she can take care of herself. It has just been so long since she acted like her tomboy self. She sighed, Sometimes I regret acting more lady-like. She shot a few more zombies, who were at a good distance so far. Am I in one of the countries with a bigger zombie population like they said on the news?

She sighed, I hope I make it out of this mess. She thought to herself. She opened a bag that she was carrying with her and took out more amo, I'm lucky I prepared myself for the worse. She thought as she looked into her bag filled with amo and enough food and water to last a few days. She looked at the setting sun, Now how in the world am I going to make it through the night?
