(REINA'S POV)

it was 2 days after the great sorrow of the euro 2020 finals; italy had held their cup high, england had hung their heads low.

despite the racism and harassment that the england team was facing, their friends and families were available to console them;

as we were there to console bukayo, marcus and landon.

anyway,

my friend group and i, sat in nando's as we munched on our food and talked about anything that came to mind.

obviously, i sat next to jude - we had become kinda close over this past month, and my feelings for him grew stronger by the hour; it was embarassing, i needed to calm down.

i think jude felt the same way, although we were both too sheepish to admit any sort of romantic emotions for one another at this point in time.

on the other hand, jobe and malika's fondness for eachother was nothing of the secretive kind; they were completely open about their feelings for eachother,

oh, how i longed to be like them.

"smash or pass, garlic bread." jobe proposed, his eyes darting to everyone at the table.

"unbelievable smash," jude expressed, resulting in a wave of laughter. i shook my head.

"no no no," i began.

"let me stop you right there." bukayo interrupted, dismissively waving his hand. i crossed my arms.

"garlic bread is goldly." adora sighed, biting into a crouton from her salad.

"mate, overrated as hell. now, croutons on the other hand." i stated - adora nodded, knowlingly.

"uhm, mid? can we talk about true flavour here?" objected jobe, as he quickly nicked one of malika's chips.

"true flavour? arepas on top." ami testified, clapping between each word.

"CON QUESO?" i asked, excitedly.

"CON QUESOOO!" she replied, sticking her tongue out in a 'we feeling eachother' typa way.

"jollof rice." nicole chimed in. the way my pupils shifted towards her, ever so slowly from the corner of my eye.

"don't talk about jollof when you're ghanaian." adora kissed her teeth, eyeing the egg warrior.

"word," bukayo chuckled.
