Brian's POV:

"Brian!" I heard my mom's scream as I descended down the stairs. I had to meet Riya now. I took a look into my watch. I would still have time for that. Deciding to check what the commotion was about, I headed towards the room when Michael walked out of it.

I frowned in confusion. "What happened?"

He lifted his hands up in surrender. "The truth just came out but I am not responsible for it."

I pulled the collar of his shirt as anger seeped into my blood. "What did you tell her?"

He seemed startled and that's when I realised what I was doing. I let go off his shirt and smoothened the wrinkles out. "Sorry."

"It's okay." He sighed. "But I guess I should be the one apologising for the mess that I created now."

I looked at her room door and then pulled him out to the corridor. "Please tell me you didn't tell her everything."

"I d-didn't." He seemed nervous and it didn't sit well with me.

"But?"

"I told her that I was in love with her."

"What?"

"Not her her, but her.. you know, Cath." He blushed.

"Why would you do that?" I hissed at him.

"I am sorry but your mother was getting on my nerves. She always flaunts about this douchebag friend of yours right on my face, and how he was the perfect match for Cath. I couldn't take it any longer and I told her that I loved Cath."

I sighed and rubbed my face. "And what did she say."

He smiled sheepishly. "Let just say we both said things that we shouldn't have."

I sighed again. "She is not like any.. She is quite conservative, and you can't just go barge in and tell her that you love her daughter."

He thought of it for a few seconds. "What's wrong with that? I am going to marry her daughter aren't I?"

"But according to her you aren't."

He glared. "What are you saying now? That I won't be marrying Cath?"

I sighed. "Look, things work a little different here. What you did was unacceptable, and I would have probably punched you on the face if you had just barged in and told you loved my sister if the situation had been any different."

He scoffed. "So James big Mathews could love your sister but not I?"

"Let's say that he got his share."

"Oh?" Michael frowned and I noticed him take a step back. He then shook his head. "She was going to know about this anyhow."

"Yes, but I had a plan. I thought I could let her get to know you at first, make her like and somehow convince her that you're a good man and I wanted you and Cath to get married. I wanted Cath to get married with her approval. Now everything is ruined."

He laughed nervously. "I was a bit too impatient wasn't I?"

I sighed. "It's fine. I'll handle this. Just don't make the same mistake again."

He nodded. "Should I apologise to her?"

"Do you have a death wish?"

He chuckled. "I think I need to live a little more if I wanted to marry Cath."

"Good. Now don't get in her sight for two days and I'll take care of it."

He nodded and walked away. I walked back to my mother's room and Blake exited it. "What are you doing here?"

His eyes widened in excitement. "Oh, there you are! I wanted to show something to your mom but she wasn't there. At least I found you. Look.." He was about to show something in a magazine of some sort when Daniel pulled him back.

"Blake you should come with me."

He frowned. "But you wanted me to show this to everyone."

"Yes, but I think I'll do the job since I am in it."

Blake pouted. "B-But.. that's not fair. I was the one who wanted to do it."

"Yes, but now I want it back." Daniel pulled the magazine out of Blake's hand.

"You're so mean."

Daniel rolled his eyes. "Tell you what. Tell Sam that you've already showed it to everyone and I will let you do the interview the next time."

Blake's eyes widened in excitement. "Really?" Daniel nodded. "So will I also have the chance to pose all sexy with a hot girl?"

Daniel looked up at me in embarrassment before he scowled at Blake. "Yeah, yeah, just get going now."

"And can I also kis-" Daniel closed his mouth with his hand. "Go now or I'll pull you out of the band."

Blake saluted and ran off in the direction of the hall. I looked up at Daniel. "What was all that about?"

He shrugged but I could see that he was trying to hide the magazine out from my sight. "It's just my interview for a magazine. Sam wanted Blake to show it to everyone.. she wanted me to feel proud or something but I don't think it's actually necessary."

I didn't exactly buy what he was saying but didn't think much of it either. "That's great."

The two of stood in silence and I realised Daniel looking at me in a strange way. "What?"

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, why?"

He scrutinised my face for a few seconds before he replied. "Just wanted to make sure. You seemed pretty shaken the other night."

"Like I said, I was tired. That's all. You don't have to worry about me, but thanks." I smiled at him and he nodded, but I could see that he still wasn't convinced completely.

My phone beeped and I realised that it was a message from Riya. "I should get going." He nodded in acknowledgement and I left the house. I need to do something to convince Daniel or he would soon find out. Maybe Riya could really help me right now.

                             ***************
Sam's POV:

Ever since that stupid magazine arrived my heart didn't stop its marathon. I couldn't get the anxiety of Brian or his mom seeing it go away from my system. It would be too embarrassing to face them if they saw that.

I stabbed the meat on my plate with my fork. I really thought it was worth going to jail after murdering Tom for his so called surprise, but lucky for him he had three good points to save his ass.

1. Daniel and I broke into the building after office hours. He could sue me for that.

2. We used office property without permission and for that again, he could sue me.

3. I loved him and needed the job back when I return to London.

I sighed and tried to control from showing my anger on the poor food. Currently it was dinner time and Cath was serving food for each one of us. Brian hadn't returned home yet and I was worried about him. Hopefully he would be back soon or I would have to hunt him down myself.

His mom had retired to bed early and didn't join us at the table. Michael and Blake sat on either side of me, munching on their food like their life depended on it. Either they were too hungry or gone immune to the anger radiating from my body.

I continued to glare at the man who sat right opposite to me and stabbed the food, imagining that it was him. The innocent look on his face as he lifted his head up to smile at me just infuriated me even more.

"ARE YOU INSANE?!" Michael shrieked beside me. That's when I realised that I had stabbed his thigh with the fork I had. I smiled sadistically at him. "Be glad I didn't use the knife."

He glared at me. "Be glad that I am hungry or I'll kill you back."

"Looks like someone has grown some spine."

"Looks like someone has just been played in their own game." He smirked at me and looked back at Daniel. I dug the fork deeper and he pushed my hand away. "You're a psycho."

"Takes one to know one."

"What the hell do you want?" He hissed. I looked at Daniel who continued to ignore my hostile glares.

"I could ask all the boys to sleep in one room if that's what you want. You guys need some privacy don't you?" Michael wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

I was about to stab him again but he moved his leg away in time. "Geez woman, you're even more violent than you usually are. Is being celibate taking a toll on you."

I smirked at him. "Shouldn't I be asking you that?"

He smirked back. "At least I have her kisses to compensate for that."

I glared at him. "I would murder you right now if I wasn't already planning someone else's murder."

"Cut the guy some slack. He is trying and you need to forgive him for whatever he did. I am sure he didn't do it on purpose."

I laughed at his absurd conclusion. "He didn't do it on purpose? He freaking wanted to piss me off so freaking much and he very well knows that he freaking achieved it and that's why he is so freaking calm."

He eyed me up and down. "What did he do?"

                           **************
After telling him everything that had happened near the staircase minus my embarrassment, Michael seemed to look at me like I was finally sane. He would freak out if I were calm after everything I told him.

He seemed to be in thought. "Where is this magazine now?"

"Why? You want to gawk at them too?"

He scrunched his face in disgust. "Eww! Don't even remind me of those images. Let's just call it magazine. Now tell me where the hell they are."

"Blake said he gave it to Daniel, and that he wanted to show it to everyone. He was standing with Brian in front of his mother's room when he last saw him."

"You think he would have showed it to Brian?"

"With his jealousy, I am sure he might have. Brian isn't home yet and I can't be sure till he comes back."

"What about his mother? Do you think she saw those pictures and was too ashamed to face you, and hence decided to skip dinner?"

"WHAT?" My voice rose high and everyone eyed me suspiciously. "Sorry." I smiled in embarrassment before I glared at Michael. "What the hell are you talking about? Do you really think he would have shown it to his mother?"

He shrugged. "They were standing in front of her room, and when Daniel came back to our room, his hands were empty."

My eyes widened. "Do you think he just gave it to her to keep it?"

He gagged again. "What would she do keeping your pornographic pictures?"

I glared at him. "Then what else are you suggesting."

He looked thoughtful for a few seconds. "Since we're talking about Daniel here, he might as well wanted to see how far luck would take him."

"Meaning?"

"He could have just placed it somewhere in her room and give it some time and wait for her to find it on her own."

A small smile crept onto my lips. "Or maybe she won't find it at all."

He shrugged. "That is if she didn't already."

"You're a genius you know that?" I pinched his cheeks and he groaned, swatting my hand away.

"Geez, I know that I am attractive but can you keep your hands to yourself? I have a girlfriend."

I grinned at him. "You are the most handsome man I know."

He eyed me weirdly. "I know but are you alright?"

"Of course I am."

"I am not sure though." He sniffed the food on my plate. "Do you think someone spiked your food with 'be nice to Michael' potion?"

"I stabbed you with my fork."

"Yeah but that was before you ate anything. Now I am really doubting it, unless.." His eyes widened and he looked at me. "No. Are you thinking what I am thinking that you are thinking?"

"Yup!" I grinned at him. "Told you that you were a genius."

He laughed nervously. "I am not doing it."

"Yes you are."

"No I am not."

"Yes you are."

"No I am not, and you can't make me either."

                 *******************
"I can't believe you're making me do this!" Michael hissed as the two of us tip toed our way down the stairs.

I rolled my eyes. "I can't believe you thought I couldn't make you. When have I ever not?"

I couldn't see him properly in the dark but I was sure he was glaring at me. "That's because you're a psycho!"

"Yeah, yeah whatever! Now let's get to work."

"You do realise that the woman hates me right? Finding me rummaging through her things in the middle of the night is not going to make her love me anymore."

"Would she love you if you didn't rummage through her things in the middle of the night?"

He remained silent for a while. "No."

"There you have your answer."

                        **************
Michael's POV:

I knew I shouldn't have listened to her so called great idea of snooping around. We weren't detectives but part of me was curious as to know what the magazine was about, and I didn't want this woman to shower her anger upon Sam for something as stupid as this.

I cares about Sam; Sam cared about Cath, and Cath cared about her mother. Hence I had to take care that nothing spited this woman to ruin their friendship. Even though I won't ever admit it out loud, the friendship between those two girls was too important for me.

I closer the drawer that I had been going through and went onto the next one. That one too had just boxes of medications and medical files. "Should we look into the cupboard too?" I whispered to Sam.

The two of us looked at the sleeping monster on the bed. She looked like she wouldn't wake up any soon. We looked at each other and then she nodded.

"Hold the flashlight." I gave her my phone and she tip toed behind me in silence. An involuntary smile made way onto my face. If only she listened to me like this everyday, my life would be easier and well... boring.

I slowly twisted the knob of the wooden cupboard. Lucky for us it wasn't locked. I pulled the door open slowly and the inside part of it reminded me of the conjuring cupboard more than that of Narnia.

Dirty clothes, a few gold jewellery, a watch, blah blah blah. Why the hell does this woman need such a big cupboard to hold these things. A single bag would be more than enough. I was about to give up on the search when I saw the bottom panel of the drawer lifted up a bit.

Could this be a secret chamber?

I lifted it up and sure enough there wasn't something inside. A book with colourful pictures on the outside. "Hey Sam, I think I have found the magazine."

Remind me to shut my mouth when I am snooping around the next time!

Sam's eyes widened and she hushed me to he silent, but it was too late as we heard a rustling sound of movement on the bed. We ducked down immediately and rolled under the bed not even caring about the fully open cupboard and drawer. At least she wouldn't know who went through her things.

We waited for a few more moments and I swear I could hear my heartbeat on my throat. We held our breath until we were sure the movement on the bed stopped. Sam hit the back of my head and I groaned.

She glared and placed her index finger on her lips. I thought that would be the end of it but boy was I wrong. She took advantage my inability to scream at the moment and hit my head two more times. I take my word back.

Snooping Sam was worse than a normal Sam!

I rolled back from under the bed and ran out off the room. If she gets caught, at least she wouldn't have to be embarrassed my the magazine. I chuckled and lifted it up to find what all the fuss was about.

I frowned my eyebrows in confusion. This didn't look like a gossip magazine. Instead of Sam's lusty photograph on the cover, the front was filled a picture of small kids of different sizes, and colours smiling at each other.

"I am going to kill you." I heard Sam's voice before she marched out of the room and shut the door behind softly.

I smirked at her. "Took you long enough."

"I am not one to leave evidence behind like someone." She glared at me. "If you didn't notice it properly the cupboard doors were open and who would she doubt did that?"

"Perhaps a ghost in the name of Sam?"

"Or an intruder in the Michael? Who do you think she would doubt more?"

My face paled and she smirked. "You can thank me later. Now give me the damn magazine."

She pulled the booklet out of my hold and she frowned just as I had did a few minutes ago. "This isn't that one."

"I was going to say just that before you tried to up hand me and failed."

She glared and pushed the book back onto my chest. "I hate you so much."

I smiled back at her. "At least not as much as you hate your boyfriend at the moment."

She narrowed her eyes at me. "I'll deal with you later." She glared at me one more time before she stormed off. I chuckled and looked back at the book in my hand. What should I do with this one?

I thought I would just place it somewhere and let her find this on her own, but then the words at the bottom stopped me from moving. Green's adoption centre. Now why would she have an adoption centre booklet hidden in her cupboard?

************
It's question time now!

So what do you think the booklet is all about?

What do you think of Brian's reaction to Michael's confession? Was he over reacting?

Who likes this hate-love going on between Sam and Michael?
