Backstory: Her real name is Mayumi. Born in Japan to the Hamato clan, she is the daughter of Tang Shen and Hamato Yoshi. When shredder had attacked and taken Miwa, he had thought Mayumi was dead leaving her and a badly injured Yoshi behind. When arriving upon America, and going to the erotic pet store, Mayumi (now known as Caterina to keep a low profile), had come into contact with a fox. On their way out of the store after buying pet turtles that she begged for, her father picked her up. When they ran into the strange man and goop their transformations started. Because of her father picking her up, the transformation only gave her half fox dna. The six of them went into hiding after that.

As years go by she is trained in the art of ninjitsu as well as her turtle brothers. And as the years go by, like her brothers, long to get out of the sewers and see the city that had been above them for so long. Soon she figures out that she can go up during the day if she hides her tail and ears. When she meets April, and becomes a part of their team and friend, she is beyond relief to have a female friend.
