Phil and I were doing a YouNow when I noticed Alex sitting outside our door. "Phil, I'll be right back. We have a child lurking outside the door." I said getting up and walking outside. Alex looked up and I walked her away from the door and closer to her bedroom. "So why were you sitting in the hallway?" I asked. She replied, "I have to ask you something." I gestured for her to go ahead and she said, "My friend invited me to go to an after party tomorrow after the football game. I told them I had to ask you and daddy first." I thought about it, maybe it'd be good for her. I said, "Let me talk to Phil about it first. I'll be right back." she nodded as I headed back to the game room. Phil looked at me as I said, "She wants to go to a party." "Really?!" Phil said stunned. I chuckled saying, "I know we aren't social, but it's a surprise she is.  Anyway she said her friend invited her to this after party tomorrow night after the school football game." "I mean, I don't see any reason why she couldn't go. It's a chance for her to be social. As long as nothing reckless is going on, I think it'll be fine." He replied. I nodded saying," Alright, I'll go tell her." leaving the game room I headed back down the hall to Alex's room. "Alright, your father and I don't think it'll be a problem as long as it isn't going to be reckless. Meaning no drugs, alcohol, or sex." I said. She made a face before saying, "No problem, my friend is a responsible human being and will make sure I don't end up in any sorta trouble." I smiled giving her a hug and kissing the top of her head before heading back to Phil and the YouNow.
