Drink Up

After another week of school, I was bored out of my mind. How did humans do it year after year? I'll never know. School was an endless hell of boredom and what do I do when I'm bored? Drink. It was a Friday night so I would also have the whole weekend to drink or do anything else that I wanted to do. It took a hell of a lot to get a vampire like me drunk or have a hangover but I drink enough to kill at least a few humans. I got dressed up and headed over to the Mystic Grill, the local watering hole.

When I got there all I had to do was simply compel the staff to give me strong, free drinks. Easy, right? No. Blonde Matt had taken vervain and wasn't too keen on giving me alcohol, especially not strong alcohol but I longed for my old time lover, Jack Daniels, so I compelled him. I can compel anyone, vampire, vervain addict and even Matt. The older you get the more your powers you gain. I could move so fast it would make a regular vampire look like they were walking. I could also do magic, just a few spells, nothing major. I blame that on how I was turned.

"Anna-May? What are you doing?" My old friend was acting out of her normal behaviour and it scared me. She was always so composed and her personality consistent.

"Get changed. Quick, child," At least she still called me 'child', it was irritating but it was the most thing about her in that moment. She had thrown me a flowing, white dress that looked almost see through at certain parts. I got into it as quick as I could. It covered my skin and body with an elegance that I had never seen before. Anna-May then did my long hair into a tight plait and tied it with ribbon and I looked a way that I never had before. A dangerous, elegant, young women who was capable of anything. And I was. I just didn't know it then.

I tried to shut out old memories before water rose up to my eyes but I did not let it fall, if I did then I would too. Sitting at an empty table with only my whiskey for company made it easier to spot what was going on in the bar. Or who. Damon was sitting up at the bar with his friend Alaric and I had the perfect opportunity. I gulped down the right of my drink, ignoring the slight burn that made it's way down my throat and skipped over to the bar. I made sure that I was close enough for Damon to see and hear me but not enough that it would look planned.

"Matt? Hey, can I get a bourbon? Thanks," I didn't even give him time to reply before waving him off and leaving him confused but he scuttled off like a good boy. I turned to my right and 'accidently' caught Damon's eye. He thought he was in charge of what was going on. Wrong. I had all the power.

"Lilianna, isn't it? Yeah, that's your name," He looked way too confident and was trying to make me feel absolutely ecstatic that he remembered my name. Two could play at that game.

"Yeah it is. I'm sorry, I don't seem to remember your name," He looked like a fish out of water. He was obviously not used to girls not falling at his feet and Alaric seemed rather amused by the events taking place.

"Damon, it's Damon," He practically growled. He must have hated not being swooned over which made it a weakness, I loved finding people's weaknesses because then I could use it against them. It's fun to watch people fall because they fell victim to their emotions. I decided that I was working to hard so I just winked and walked away. He would spend the whole night tossing and turning because of it and it was a shame that I couldn't stick around and see it but I had somewhere to be. New Orleans.
