Chapter twelve

Days had passed since the heated argument between Aurora and Elena. The tension lingered in the air, and although casual conversations within the house still occurred, the two friends hadn't engaged in any meaningful dialogue. Stefan kept Aurora updated on the ongoing supernatural events, but Aurora had shifted her focus elsewhere – she delved into the mysteries of her own family origins.

Her research first began with her father, Chase Argent. Hours upon hours were spent scouring books, online databases, and any available resources. Eventually, she discovered a revelation that left her stunned – Chase Argent came from a historical line of famous supernatural hunters. The name 'Argent' derived from Latin argentum, meaning "silver" or "white metal," which was historically used against werewolves. Aurora discovered that Chase had been declared an 'abomination' and banished from the family line because his mother, Eileen (Aurora's grandmother), had an affair with a werewolf from one of the packs they were hunting.

The realization hit Aurora like a whirlwind. First vampires and witches were real, and now werewolves? What else lurked in the shadows of the supernatural world?

Without a second thought, Aurora picked up her phone and dialed Damon's number, anxiously waiting as it rang. After a few moments, he answered, and she quickly got to the point.

"Damon, can we meet at your place? I've discovered something about my father, and I need to talk to you about it. It's important." Aurora informed the boy causing Damon to immediately agree and after a short drive to the Salvatore house Aurora soon found herself sitting on Damon's couch, watching him pour drinks for both of them.

Aurora took a deep breath before starting, "I have a question for you, and it might seem very weird, but you're the only person, besides Stefan, who might know the answer about this, and—"
Damon cut her off, handing her a drink and sitting down next to her. "What's going on, Rory?" Damon inquired curiously as Aurora took a sip before setting down her drink and reaching in her bag, pulling out a book and opening it flipping it open to a marked page and showing Damon.
"'Argent?' That was your father's last name?" Damon asked surprised.
"Yeah, do you know them?" Aurora confirmed questioning the boy.
"I know of them. Katherine told me about them once. They are one of the best families of hunters that I know of. It makes sense now how your fighting ability seems so... natural. It's in your blood." Damon recalled making Aurora nod.

"Apparently, that's not the only gene flooding through my veins." Aurora added on causing Damon to furrow his eyebrows curiously as Aurora read him a passage about her father—the first known werewolf in the bloodline.
"Werewolves? But that doesn't make sense. They've been practically extinct for a long time. I haven't heard of any sightings in years." Damon informed the girl causing Aurora to explain the story of her grandmother Eileen falling in love with a werewolf and giving birth to her father. He never activated his curse, but based on werewolf history, that meant Aurora had the gene.
"How do you activate the curse?" Damon questioned making Aurora pause hesitantly before swallowing nervously before glancing up at Damon.
"You have to take a human life. But there's another thing, Damon." Aurora told the boy resulting in Damon to look at her curiously.

"What is it?" Damon inquired.
"A werewolf's bite can kill a vampire, and as of now, there's no known cure." Aurora explained causing Damon and Aurora to look at each other knowingly, before Damon suddenly turned serious.
"You can't tell anyone about this, Rory. You know that, right? No one." Damon warned the girl. "What? Why?" Aurora wondered confused.
"As far as we know, you are the only person to have the werewolf gene in years. This could cause unwanted people to come looking for you, and we can't have that. So, it has to stay a secret." Damon informed her causing her to furrow her eyebrows in thought.
"But what about Elena and Stefan—" Aurora trailed off but Damon interrupted her.
"I know it's a lot to ask, but can you do that for me, please?" Damon questioned hopefully making Aurora look into Damon's eyes before nodding. The two agreed, promising to keep it a secret from everyone for Aurora's safety.

After her visit with Damon, Aurora went to school that day and the girl rushed through the school hallways, running behind schedule. In her hurried path, she spotted Bonnie and immediately went over to embrace her friend. Bonnie reciprocated the hug, grateful to see Aurora again.

"You're back, how are you doing?" Aurora questioned concerned for her friend.
"I'm doing okay. It's hard, but we're dealing." Bonnie informed the girl.
"I understand. I'm here if you need anything, okay?" Aurora stated seriously making Bonnie express her gratitude.
"Thank you, Elena told me that you've been getting closer to Damon?" Bonnie inquired

"Of course she did. I'm sure she was just waiting to drop that bomb on you." Aurora scoffed rolling her eyes in disbelief.
"I love you, Rory. But come on, what are you thinking? It's Damon, the guy stalked me for a week and threatened me over a necklace." Bonnie voiced her concern to her friend making Aurora nod understandingly.
"I know, but it's more complicated than that... I mean, sure, we slept together, but we are just friends—" Aurora began but was cut off by Bonnie.

"You slept with him?!!" Bonnie interrupted shocked.
"I guess Elena didn't tell you that part. It didn't mean anything; we were both drunk, and it was a heat-of-the-moment type of thing. It won't happen again. Trust me." Aurora admitted becoming uncomfortable with the situation this resulted in Bonnie to hesitate but she eventually nodded in understanding.
"I trust you, but if he starts acting stranger than usual, run." Bonnie ordered the girl causing the  two friends laughed before sharing a smile.
"What else has happened while I was gone?" Bonnie wondered making Aurora shake her head. "A lot, but I'll tell you after class, okay?" Aurora reassured the girl making Bonnie agree with a nod, and the two headed to class together. Aurora gave her friend a side hug, and Bonnie returned it, grateful that Aurora was the first person she ran into upon her return.

The two continued their way through the hallway until they came across Ric's classroom and the two girls made their entrance, interrupting him.
"Sorry we're late." Bonnie apologized.
"Well, it looks like we will be at full occupancy today. Welcome home, Bonnie, and nice of you to join us, Rory."

Bonnie took her seat, smiling at Elena. However, when her eyes met Stefan's, her smile faded. Stefan smiled at her, but Bonnie avoided looking at him, turning her head away. Elena and Stefan exchanged puzzled glances, trying to understand the sudden change in Bonnie's demeanor. Aurora took her own seat, pointedly ignoring Elena's smile, refusing to interact with her until she apologized. She turned her attention to Alaric as he began the class, determined to focus on the lesson and put the recent tension aside.

After class, Aurora stood at her locker, organizing her books when she felt someone approach. Turning around, she found Elena standing there, a hesitant expression on her face.

"Hey, Rory. Can we talk?" Elena questioned hesitantly making Aurora sigh but nod, signaling for Elena to continue.
"I wanted to apologize for what I said during our fight at the Grill. I shouldn't have said those things - "

Aurora hesitated, considering Elena's words. Finally, she nodded. "Okay, Elena. I accept your apology." Aurora taunted jokingly making Elena smile in relief, grateful to have her friend back.
"Thanks, Rory. So, are you planning to go to the Miss Mystic pageant?" Elena inquired making Aurora furrow her brows, having completely forgotten about the event. She hesitated before answering.
"I don't know. I hadn't really thought about it. Are you still in the competition?" Aurora wondered referring to how Miranda had entered Elena in before she passed away.
"Yeah, I can't drop out. Now knowing how much it meant to my mom," Elena admitted making Aurora understand the sentiment and nod in acknowledgment.

"I get it, Elena. If it means that much to your mom's memory, then I'll go." Aurora agrees making Elena's eyes brightened, grateful for Aurora's understanding.
"Who knows maybe I'll ask Damon," Aurora shrugged knowingly making Elena hesitate, holding back her remarks.
"Too soon?" Aurora questioned making Elena shake her head with an amused smile on her face as she chuckled appreciating Aurora's light-hearted response.

Elena then went to continue to update the girl on everything going on, she informed the girl that John, their uncle who was visiting was is on the council and he knows that Stefan and Damon are vampires and knows that they know. She also told her about Stefan's kidnapping which no one told her about which she was quite upset over and then her feeding Stefan some of her blood to heal him after the attack but it was nothing to be concerned about because he was working on detoxing and getting himself back on his usual diet. This made Aurora worry for the youngest Salvatore, hoping what Elena said was true and that he had it under control.

At the pageant Aurora stood outside in her a maroon dress that accentuated her figure. The off-the-shoulder design added a touch of elegance. Her makeup featured light eyeshadow and a subtle touch of red lipstick, complementing the dress seamlessly. With her strawberry-blonde hair styled in loose curls, she radiated a simple yet captivating beauty.

Aurora sat on a bench, sipping champagne when Damon approached, taking a seat beside her.

"You clean up nice, Sommers." Damon complimented causing Aurora to smile kindly at his compliment.
"So do you, Salvatore. How's Stefan holding up?" Aurora wondered.
"He's on edge, still pissed at me for not telling you he was kidnapped?" Damon inquired curiously
"Of course, I am. What kind of question is that?" She scoffed, expressing her frustration.
"I was surprised to hear that you forgave Elena that easily, after what Stefan told me she said. Thanks for standing up for me, by the way." Damon continued.
"Yeah, well, don't make me regret it." Aurora hummed knowingly. The two talked for a bit more, before she spotted Jeremy and walked over.

"You look miserable," Aurora chuckled approaching the boy causing him to smile softly at her appearance.
"That was exactly what I was about to say," John's voice chimed in causing Aurora's smile to drop as John looked at Aurora with a smile.
"It's nice to see you Aurora, despite us living in the same house you're the only person I haven't been able to get an actual conversation with." John greeted.
"Yeah, well I've been busy." Aurora explained shortly.
"I see that," John hummed knowingly making Aurora furrow her eyebrows at him.

Noticing the tension, Jeremy spoke up.
"Are there really a whole month of these events that I'm supposed to show up at?" Jeremy questioned ignoring the skeptical glares Aurora was giving John.
"You could fight it if you want but it's part of being a Gilbert." John shrugged.
"Yeah, you mentioned you know a lot about the family. You know anything about our ancestor Jonathan Gilbert?" Jeremy wondered grabbing Aurora's attention.

"Prolific writer, crazy inventor. Why do you ask?" John asked.
"Well, I read his journal." Jeremy admitted.
"Is that right?" John inquired glancing knowingly at Aurora.
"Yeah, I actually found it in all dads' stuff." Jeremy explained.
"Well, it's surprising. Most of them are locked away." John confessed.
"There are more of them?" Jeremy spoke up surprised.

"Jonathan Gilbert journaled his whole life. Right down to the bitter, insane, drunken end. He had a lot of demons." John acknowledged.
"And did you read them?" Aurora inquired curiously.
"I've browsed, yeah." John shrugged.
"Crazy ramblings of a mad man, of course." John muttered as he turned his head and noticed Anna.
"She's very pretty," John commented as Anna looks at him and leaves.
"Yeah—uh—she's a friend of mine. Excuse me." Jeremy sent a glance towards Aurora before leaving causing John to turn to Aurora.

"So, I've heard that you and Elena have been hanging out with the Salvatore's." John began
"I don't see how that's any of your business." Aurora dismissed.
"Really? Because I think you would care, given what your mother would think of you if she found out who you've been associating with." John warned.
"Which mother?" Aurora remarked raising an eyebrow knowingly catching John by surprise before she turned around and walked off. Before she knew it the line up for the pageant was happening, but Stefan was no where to be found and neither was one of the contestants, Amber.

"Where is Stefan?" Aurora whispered to Damon as they watched Mayor Lockwood list people off.
"I don't know," Damon whispered back causing Aurora to grow worried.
"Go, I'll find him." Aurora informed Damon before leaving. Damon went to stop her, but she was too quick and had already left. Damon looked between Elena and where Aurora left and knowing Aurora could handle herself he stepped into take Stefan's place as Elena's escort.

The girl then rushed all over the place, trying to find Stefan before he did anything to hurt Amber. Eventually she hears Amber scream causing her to run towards it only to come across them in the parking lot and she sees Stefan biting Amber.

"Stefan!" Aurora shouts causing Stefan to release Amber and turn to look at Aurora, his teeth were blared and veins were under his eyes while blood dripped around his neck. "Stefan, It's okay, just listen to my voice -" Aurora began causing Stefan to release the girl causing her to fall to the ground. Aurora glanced at the girl but before she could do anything Stefan grabbed her.

"Stefan?" Aurora muttered in barely above a whisper as she looked into his eyes, noticing a look that he had never given her before causing goosebumps to spread across her arms. "It's okay, Stefan."

But in minutes, not being able to control it anymore Stefan bit into the girls neck. Causing the girl to let out a scream in pain as she struggled against him to get free but he was too strong and she was becoming weaker. And then all of a sudden, Damon, Elena and Bonnie arrive.

"Stefan!" Elena shouts resulting in Stefan to release Aurora causing her to stumble away from him as Damon approached Stefan.
"Stefan, come on get control. It's okay, come on. Breath through it man." Damon urged but Stefan catches Damon and throws him against a tree before trying to charge at Aurora again as Damon gets up.
"Stefan stop it!" Elena ordered but suddenly Stefan holds his head before he can get to Aurora, Aurora glances over to see Bonnie casting a spell on him and then she stops.
"It's okay. Stefan," Damon reassured as Stefan glanced at Elena then at Aurora guilt in his eyes before running away.

Damon immediately turns and uses his vamp speed to get to Aurora.
"Are you okay?" Damon questions concerned causing Aurora to nod, tears still streaming down her face. "Here," Damon offered taking a bit out of his wrist and offering his blood to the girl.

Aurora seemed hesitant at first, but accepted it. Letting the wound heal itself. Shortly after, the police arrive and examine Amber while the girls and Damon stood nearby. Soon, Sheriff Forbes approached them.
"She doesn't remember what happened." Liz informed the group.
"It's a good thing the girls got here when they did, she lost a lot of blood." Damon acknowledged causing Liz to look at the girls.
"You didn't see anything?" Liz wondered curiously causing a long silence to fall on them as they glanced at Bonnie.

"No, we just found her and then called Damon," Elena lied.
"Is she gonna be okay?" Aurora questioned concerned.
"It looks like it yeah. Why don't you girls get back to the party? Damon and I can take it from here." Liz informed the girls.
"Okay," Elena agrees before grabbing Aurora's hand who was still shaken up and leaving. Bonnie started to head back to her car, causing the two girls to follow their friend.

"Bonnie, can we talk about this?" Elena called after the girl
"There's nothing to talk about," Bonnie dismissed the girl.
"Bonnie, please!" Elena begged
"I told you I wasn't gonna make you choose but I need to make the choice for myself. Please just leave me alone." Bonnie declared before getting in the car making Aurora glance at Elena noticing the sad expression on the girls face.
"I know it sucks, but Bonnie's right. She made her decision and we should respect that Lena. Now, come on, let's go find Ric."

The two girls wait for Ric in silence and as he makes his exit he acknowledges them.
"Good, there you are. Jenna wanted me to get the car," Alaric informed the girl but he looks at the two girls and notices that they look upset making him frown.
"What happened?" Alaric wondered concerned.

Elena ended up going to the Salvatore boarding house to capture Stefan and put him in one of the cells in their basement to try and keep him from hurting more people until they can get him back to himself. Elena offered for Aurora to come, but Aurora decided she needed to get some rest and so that's exactly what she did and after a few minutes of laying in bed she ended up drifting into a much needed sleep.

Aurora didn't do much of anything the next day as she spent most of the time letting her body heal and letting Damon's blood leave her system. The few days that Stefan was in the cell, Elena had been staying at the Salvatore house, so she was up to date with everything that was happening so Elena was able to catch Aurora up.

Apparently, Stefan tried to commit suicide by burning himself with sunlight because of the guilt that had consumed him for hurting Aurora and Amber, but before he could do anything Elena convinced him not too and now he was back on animal blood and out of his cell. Apparently he had been asking to talk to her but Aurora didn't feel up to talking to Stefan yet. So she had been ignoring the Salvatore brothers for a bit. Leading her to her helping Caroline and Bonnie with the Miss Mystic float for the Founders' Day parade at the school.

The three girls, Bonnie, Caroline and Aurora sat in the cafeteria of the school trying to Brainstorm ideas for the float.
"Alright, show me." Bonnie gestured.
"Let's reference last years Miss Mystic Float." Caroline suggested before she typed it into Bing on her computer.
"This is what they did last year," Caroline pauses as she turns her computer to show the girls "and this is exactly what we don't want to do."

"Ew. Okay! So, what are we doing?" Bonnie questioned curiously.
"Southern classic elegance." Aurora chimed in.
"Gone with the Wind?" Bonnie wondered curiously.
"How'd you know?" Aurora inquired.
"You Channel Scarlett, daily." Bonnie joked.
"So true!" Caroline chimed in as the three joked sarcastically before letting out a laugh as Caroline looked around.

"Where's Elena? She's supposed to be helping." Caroline frowned
"I don't know," Bonnie admitted
"Okay, what's the deal?" Caroline questioned
"What do you mean?" Bonnie asked
"Don't play dumb. You and Elena are fighting. Spill!" Caroline ordered.

"It's nothing," Bonnie dismissed the girl.
"It's not nothing. You know this whole float is supposed to be about friends creating something together and everyone is fighting. Matt and Tyler hate each other, you and Elena are on the outs and I don't like it! And I can't fix it if I don't know what's wrong." Caroline ranted making Bonnie and Aurora glance at each other awkwardly.
"I can't talk about it, Caroline, I'm sorry." Bonnie apologized as Caroline looked at the girls knowingly. Aurora glanced away feeling guilty for lying to Caroline, when she noticed Stefan approaching her causing her to tense for a second.
"You okay?" Caroline asked concerned as Bonnie glanced from her to Stefan knowingly.

"Y-Yeah I'm fine, I'll be right back." Aurora informed the girls giving them a small smile before grabbing her bag and walking away from Stefan towards the bathroom. But Stefan was quicker and managed to stop her in the hallway.
"Rory, please just talk to me for a second." Stefan began.
"I'm sorry Stef, I didn't even see you there --" Aurora began to lie but Stefan gave her a look.

"You've been avoiding me, haven't you?" Stefan acknowledged making Aurora fall quiet.
"Honest truth? Yeah, I have been." Aurora muttered out.
"You don't have to feel guilty, Rory. I understand, if you aren't ready to talk to me yet. I just want to say... I'm sorry for what I did." Stefan apologized.
"It's okay Stef, really. I was just shaken up about it and needed some time to regather myself. But you weren't yourself and I understand that and I forgive you." Aurora confessed making Stefan smile thankfully.
"Was that all, or...." Aurora trailed off awkwardly making Stefan's face shift to realization.
"No, it's Ric. He wants to talk to us, to all of us." Stefan informed the girl causing Aurora to become confused but nevertheless she followed the boy to Alaric's classroom to see Elena standing there with Ric and in seconds Damon joined them.

"Damon, thanks for coming." Alaric greeted as he walked into the classroom and joined Aurora by her side.
"Sorry I'm late. My dog ate my uh... never mind." Damon began but based off Stefan and Elena's expressions he stopped. "What's with all the furrowed brows?"

"Yeah, I would like to know that too." Aurora chimed in making Alaric between her and Damon.
"I saw Isobel last night." Alaric confessed.
"Isobel is here?" Damon concluded causing Alaric to nod.
"In town?" Aurora finished just as surprised as she turns to Elena and looks at her concerned.

"Did you ask her about Uncle John? Are they working together?" Damon inquired.
"No," Alaric replied.
"No they're not?" Damon questioned confused.
"No, I didn't ask." Alaric clarified.
"What about the invention?" Damon wondered.
"Didn't ask." Alaric repeated.
"Did she know about the tomb vampires?" Aurora piped up curiously.
"I don't know," Alaric confessed.

"Did words completely escape you?" Damon remarked frustrated.
"No, I was a little too distracted by my dead vampire wife to ask any questions." Alaric admitted making Aurora turn to Elena.
"Did she say what she wanted?" Aurora asked the girl making Elena look at her.
"She wants to see me," Elena informs the duo causing them to exchange looks.
"Alaric is supposed to arrange a meeting. We don't know why or what she wants." Stefan informs them.

Damon turns to Elena and states, "You don't have to see her if you don't want to." Stefan and Aurora exchange confused looks both confused by this sudden sensitivity they then look at Damon and then at Elena.
"I don't really have a choice." Elena shrugged.
"She's threatened to go on killing spree." Alaric informed them.

"Oh! I take it that's not okay with you guys." Damon sarcastically comments making Aurora roll her eyes.
"I want to do it. I want to meet her. If I don't, I know I'll regret it." Elena states knowing causing Damon and Elena to look at each other making Aurora furrow her eyebrows in confusion wondering when the two had gotten closer.

Aurora waited impatiently for Elena to return home after meeting her birth mother, she wanted to go and support her but she was overpowered and the group decided it was best for her to stay at home.

Eventually, Elena came home rather upset. Apparently Isobel confirmed that she was after the invention and she even commented on her and Stefan's relationship. Overall, she was not who she was expecting and the woman didn't have her humanity anymore either. Bonnie then came and visited Elena, apologizing for the way she'd been acting and Elena tells her that she met Isobel and what happened.

An hour or so later they ended up getting a call from Bonnie to meet them at the school. The two girls made their way into the classroom to see Bonnie searching through Emily's spell book.
"Hey! Thanks for meeting me. I wanted you two to see this." Bonnie gestured towards the book.
"Is that Emily's spell book?" Elena questioned.
"I've been going through it since Grams died. Check this out." Bonnie gestured showing the girl the book.
"That's the vampire compass," Aurora recognized looking at the Grimoire.

"Yeah, according to Emily, Johnathan Gilbert never actually succeeded in inventing anything. Emily secretly spelled them all with magic. Compass, rings and the mystery device you guys told me about." Bonnie elaborated before showing them a different page from the book where the device is shown.
"Yeah that's it. Well, a part of it. Damon only has the one piece." Elena explained
"Emily pledged her loyalty to Katherine. But she couldn't stand by and watch innocent people get killed. This was the only way she could think of to help. To let Johnathan Gilbert believe that he'd actually invented these devices." Bonnie informed the girls.

"Does it say what it does?" Aurora inquired curiously causing Bonnie to read the page.
"Are you sure this is what Isobel wants?" Bonnie questioned Elena making her nod.
"Yeah, I'm sure. Why?" Elena wondered confused.
"This is a weapon. Against vampires," Bonnie explained resulting in Aurora and Elena to exchange surprised glances. The two bid Bonnie goodbye and went outside to head to update Stefan, when Jeremy spotted them and came over.

"Elena! Rory!" Jeremy called out.
"Hey, have you seen Stefan? We need to find him," Aurora asked.
"No, not lately. Listen, do you guys have a second?" Jeremy questioned making the two girls nod.
"Yeah. What's up? What's going on?" Elena pondered.
"Well, it's Anna. I've left her all this messages and she hasn't gotten back to me, not even a text." Jeremy informed them causing Elena to grow confused.
"Anna? I didn't know that you guys were still friends." Elena admitted.

"We're more than friends. Look, something could be seriously wrong and if you know anything you've got to tell me." Jeremy ordered.
"I haven't talked to her, Jer." Elena confessed.
"Rory?" Jeremy questioned the girl.
"I haven't seen her since Miss Mystic Falls." Aurora admitted.
"Are you guys lying to me right now?" Jeremy retorted.
"Why do you say that?" Elena asked hurt.
"'Cause that's what you do. Lying. You lie about everything. I know what Anna is and I know that you guys know. So tell me, do you have any idea where she is?" Jeremy inquired.
"No, but Jer...." Aurora began but Jeremy shook his head and started to walk away.
"Jeremy wait! Jeremy!" Elena called out after her brother. Without wasting a second Aurora went after Jeremy, grabbing his arm gently causing him to turn around and face her.

"Jer, I'm sorry. We should have told you. It was wrong to keep it from you. I promise, if you want to hear the truth, I'll tell you. But it's your choice." Aurora told the boy but he seemed hesitant, torn between his anger and the desire to know the truth.
"I don't care about that right now. I care about Anna. I really like her, and I'm worried. Do you have any idea where she is?" Jeremy stressed making Aurora's face soften, understanding the genuine concern in Jeremy's eyes.
"We'll figure it out together, Jer. I promise. You're not alone in this." Aurora reassured the younger boy causing Jeremy to nod, a mix of gratitude and uncertainty on his face.

Their moment got interrupted by a loud crash causing Aurora to look over confused to see Matt trapped under the trailer resulting in Aurora to run over.
"Get this trailer! Come on guys help me!" Matt cried out causing Aurora to join Tyler and some other friends to try and remove the trailer. Stefan arrives and with all of them they remove the trailer causing Matt to get free while Caroline rushes over.
"Caroline, call an ambulance." Stefan ordered making Caroline nod and do as she was told.

"The ambulance is saying in 15-20 minutes." Caroline informed the group
"I have my car. I can take him to the hospital," Tyler offered
"Caroline can take me," Matt concluded still upset with Tyler for kissing his mom.
"I didn't drive." Caroline admitted

"I'll wait. Its fine." Matt dismissed causing Aurora to roll her eyes.
"You will not wait okay?! You need to see a doctor, Tyler is driving. End of story." Caroline demanded
"Fine!" Matt exclaimed
"Go!" Caroline ordered
"I'll bring my car around," Tyler muttered as Matt looks at Caroline.

After reassuring that Matt got a lift to the hospital, Aurora and Stefan rush over to Elena who informs them that Isobel has Jeremy and is the reason Matt got his arm broken. She's hurting people they love for that device.

Aurora was shocked but determinedly stated that they needed to get that device from Damon. The other two agreed and with Bonnie they made their way quickly to the Salvatore house.

"Absolutely not!" Damon dismissed after hearing their plan on giving Isobel the device.
"Just hear me out -" Elena began only to be cut off by Damon.
"I'm not gonna give the device to Isobel so she could give it to John who is going to turn it to kill me. I like being a living dead person." Damon scoffed.

"But it'll be useless, Bonnie can take its power away." Aurora informed the boy
"I don't trust her," Damon gestured towards the witch.
"I can remove the original spell." Bonnie concluded
"John and Isobel will never know." Elena finished
"No, I'll get Jeremy in my own way," Damon huffed
"Really? How are you going to do that? Because Isobel is a vampire and Jeremy could be dead the second you walk in the door." Stefan reminded him.

"Are you even up for this? I mean no offense, you're no Emily Bennett. Emily knew what she was doing." Damon questioned Bonnie
"I've been practicing," Bonnie shrugged
"It's not piano lessons, honey." Damon remarked
"What's your favorite book?" Bonnie interrogated.
"What?" Damon inquired confused
"Name a book, any book." Bonnie continued
"Name a book...How about "Call of the wild", Jack London?" Damon suggested causing Bonnie to turn and look at the library. A book flies and lands in Damon's hands. Damon looks at the book.
"Jack London. Great parlor trick." Damon rolled his eyes.

"We're doing this, Damon. And we're doing it my way. Now give me the device. We're wasting time!" Elena demanded.
"I don't trust you, I tried to kill you." Damon admitted to Bonnie.
"You're right, you can't trust me." Bonnie replied dryly.
"But you can trust me." Elena added on making Damon look at her before giving her the device.
"Thank you," Elena replied taking it from him.

Shortly after Bonnie completed the spell Damon, Stefan and Elena went to give Isobel the device. Aurora reluctantly went home to wait for Jeremy to be returned to them safe and sound. Eventually he did and the two talked and Aurora explained everything that she knew from her being adopted to Damon and Stefan being vampires. Jeremy took the moment to listen and told her that she didn't blame her for what happened. Aurora was thankful for this and told Jeremy that if he ever needed to talk she was there. She then made him swear not to tell anyone and he agreed. Aurora went to her bed that night feeling conflicted like this was just the beginning of the chaos and she didn't like it.
