(Everyone is sitting in HQ laughing and having a good time.

Inkling, Barnacles, and Dashi sit at one side of the table, while Kwazii, Peso, and Shellington sit on the other. Tweak stands beside Shellington.)

Inkling while dabbing the tears from his eyes: Oh my, that was funny! That must have been a long time ago. I don't even remember that.

Kwazii: Oh yeah, it was just after NOERA hired us (Authors note: NOERA is the administration that funds "Operation Octonauts." Like NASA.) to work on the Octopod. So, three years ago now?

Dashi: Wow. Can you believe it's been three years already?

Tweak: I know; Time goes so fast. Doesn't it?

Everyone: Yeah...

Everyone: *sigh*

(Three years ago)

(Tweak and Inkling sit together at the HQ table while everyone else (except Barnacles) is scattered around the HQ.)

Tweak: Man, We must be the only people who didn't get replaced.

Inkling: Perhaps, though we haven't seen our captain yet. We may have to deal with Captain Zap another five years.

Tweak: I hope not! He was terrible.

Inkling: Oh, you shouldn't say such things. He was just very stressed out most of the time.

Tweak: Oh come on, didn't you think he was terrible?

Inkling: Well, of course. But Captain Shade before him was the worst.

(Peso stand next to the ladder into the HQ)

[V.O. Peso: I remember being really nervous when I first got there. I didn't even know what to do.]

{Peso: Flappity Flippers, there are so many people here. I don't think I can do this.

No Peso, you're in your twenties now; you have to act like an adult.

It's your first day, and you need to make a good first impression.}

(Barnacles comes up to Peso from behind)

Barnacles: *clears throat* Excuse me, do you have the time?

(Peso is startled and quickly turns around.)

Barnacles: Oh, I'm sorry. Did I startle you?

Peso: ...No, Señor. Está bien...
Uhh, it's...
(Peso checks his watch)

Barnacles: Thank you. Why don't we get started?

Peso: Oh... Si Señor.

[V.O. Barnacles: I noticed you spoke a lot more Spanish to us at the beginning.

Peso: Well, I guess when you live with English-speaking people. English becomes more natural to you, and you start using it more.

Kwazii: I suppose that makes sense.]

-Cuts to Kwazii running down the pier-

[V.O. Kwazii: Oh yeah, remember I was real late getting there?

Tweak: You know, if you came in on time like the rest of us, nothing bad would have ever happened.

Kwazii: Oh sure, but what's the fun in that?
Plus, I had to go to the toilet. And I don't care what you say; the toilet always comes first!]

(Simultaneously to V.O. Kwazii and Tweak's conversation, we are shown Kwazii diving into the ocean and swimming into the Octopod.

He emerges from the launch bay pool. He climbs out and dries himself off.)

*Kwazii deeply inhales*

(Kwazii notices the strong smell of motor oil)

Kwazii: Yuck. I hope the whole ship doesn't smell of motor oil.

-Cuts back to the HQ-

Barnacles: *Clears his throat* Excuse me, everyone. Can I have your attention, please?

(Everyone gathers)

Barnacles: Hello everyone. My name is Commander Barnacles. I'm the ships captain, and I find it very important that we get to know each other...

Tweak quietly says while Barnacles continues to speak: So far so good, right.m? He's already proving himself to be better than Captain Zap.

Inkling quietly responds: He does seem to be quite friendly.

Tweak says quietly: Let's hope he is.

-Cuts back to a distracted Kwazii exploring the launch bay.-

[V.O. Kwazii: 'member I got distracted? I guess I wasn't a very focused person then.

Barnacles: What do you mean then?

Kwazii: Oh, very funny.]

(Kwazii walks up to Tweak's bedroom and looks around)

Kwazii: Someone is living down here?
How can they stand the smell?- Ahh, maybe they're a species that can't smell. Still, it is a little shabby down here.

(Kwazii notices a blueprint that reads "GUP-A")

Kwazii: Huh...

(Kwazii looks around and sees a big angler fish-shaped figure with a grey tarp partially draped over it bobbing in the water.)

(Kwazii smirks)

Kwazii: Huh.

-Cuts back to the HQ-

Barnacles: -Well, it's nice to meet you, Peso. :)
All right, is that everyone?

Tweak: Actually, I think we're missin' our lieutenant...

{While Tweak continues to speak to Barnacles, Peso thinks to himself: Maybe if I help look for the lieutenant, I'd make a good first impression.}

Peso: Disculpe Capitán,
I can look for him if you want.

Barnacles: Oh, thank you, that would be wonderful.

-Cuts to Peso climbing down the launch bay ladder with a map in his flipper-

{Peso: I don't know what I was thinking. This is way out of my comfort zone.}

(Peso makes it down the ladder and turns around, only to bump into Kwazii)

(Peso is speechless. He found Kwazii was very attractive.)

Kwazii: Oh, sorry, matey. Are you alright?

Peso while blushing: Uhh... S- Si. I- Uh...
Are you the lieutenant?

Kwazii: Oh, yeah. Lieutenant Kwazii at your service!

(Kwazii puts his hand out to shake Peso's flipper.)

(Peso is still stunned by Kwazii's looks; Peso says nothing.)

...

Kwazii: Okay... We can work on that.

...

(Kwazii looks around during the silence and is reminded of the GUP-A)

A/N: Here comes younger Kwazii being a jerk, sorry.

(Kwazii smirks)

Kwazii: Hey listen- What's your name?

Peso: Uhh... Peso. I'm the ship's new medic...

Kwazii: Well, Peso. Do you by any chance know how to open the front hatch of the ship?

Peso: Oh, um...

(Peso looks at the map he was given of the Octopod.)

Peso: You just pull that lever.

(Peso points to the octo-hatch lever)

Kwazii: Great.

(Kwazii pulls the tarp off the GUP all the way and hops into the GUP.)

Kwazii: Alright, Matey. Open it up, then.

Peso: Oh Lt. (A/N is that the abbreviation for lieutenant?) ... I'm really not allowed to, only when the captain says so-

Kwazii: Yes, but you see, I am the lieutenant, and the lieutenant is second in charge to the captain.
And the captain's not here, is he?

Peso: I suppose not.

Kwazii: Right, so open it up.

Peso: B-but... Si señor...

(Peso opens the Octo-hatch.)

(Kwazii leaves the Octopod in the GUP-A)

Peso: Oh, Dear.

Barnacles: Peso. Did you find the lieutenant?

Tweak: Where is he then?

(Peso points out the window at Kwazii driving the GUP-A)
