Part 2

Yuuri was exhausted by the time they were mounting horses next morning, the reason was not because of a sleepless night, in fact he had slept unexpectedly good, nor a hurting wrist. What had consumed all of his energi this morning was none other than a pretty blond in the form of his fiance. There hadn't been even a second when Wolfram wasn't with Yuuri since the incident and he had made sure to make his presence known to the king by constantly clinging to him. He had been there when Yuuri woke up, he was even the one who helped put on Yuuri's clothes since using one hand didn't prove to be very effective in that matter, not even for the maoh. Yuuri let him help despite feeling like a little kid while doing so, reason being mostly because wolfram's big emerald eyes were something the king found himself having a hard time saying no to as of late.

Wolfram had seated himself close to Yuuri during breakfast - not very surprising as he did that quite often - what did come as a surprise though, was when the prince had tried to feed him by extending a spoon in front of the double-blacks mouth and waited for a response with wide eyes.

He had been taken aback by the offer and needless to say declined, though a part of the king regretted that decision for some reason. Maybe because Wolfram was a close friend, so in reality it wouldn't be that weird right? NO WAIT A MINUTE?? What was he thinking? Of course it's odd if a guy feeds another guy like that...

His train of thought had been interrupted by Conrad coming to inform them to finish up, what's more that he was going to accompany Conrad on his horse today instead of riding Ao. Apparently it would be safer if the king was riding behind someone, only while his wrist was still healing.

Some complaining from Wolfram about Yuuri not riding with him were nearly bullets he couldn't avoid had it not been for Conrad, his knight in shining armour, swooping in with a "I'll just borrow our heika's attention for today considering you've been keeping him all to yourself since yesterday" which was met with a snort and nothing else.

Yuuri thought the overwhelming prince would be backing off a bit for the day based on the response he'd given but as one would expect, Wolfram did no such thing. He did however keep a distance yet stayed close enough that Yuuri could feel the glares bore holes in his neck whenever he and Conrad were talking, not to mention when they laughed.

The prolonged trip would be lasting at least one more day if the soldiers had predicted it right. Apparently it would take until nightfall before they'd reach the area, so searching for the love rose was something for the day coming. Nothing in particular disturbed them all day, in fact it was a surprisingly uneventful day and even after thinking that it still went on like smooth sailing. Though there seemed to be nothing called an uneventful day in this world as a pack of wolves had decided to pay their camp a visit that evening. This wasn't much of an issue for all the soldiers nor Conrad and Wolfram, in fact the wolves should be the ones afraid. Yuuri was sure he saw the frightened looks of one wolf when they chose to retreat.

With victory over the ferocious beasts the campfire was surrounded by song all night long, unfortunately Yuuri's tent wasn't soundproof not that he minded listening to the happiness of the people around him. Besides, there was an even more soundly noise coming from inside his tent, more specifically from the blonde prince snoozing at the other end. If he was completely honest with himself Wolfram's loud snores were kind of comforting at this point, it felt safe hearing the other boy through the night.

Daybreak soon arrived.

Since the camp was already set up within the search area for the rose, they'd decided that leaving it up for now would be the easiest choice if it came to not finding the rose today. Yuuri doubted that finding a single rose could be that difficult but many hours went by without news of the flower being found.

The double-black himself had been forbidden by his fiance to partake due to his injuries even though it was only his wrist that hurt. But Yuuri managed to argue that his legs were fine and so joined after lunch time passed, though he quickly realised that a rose hiding in the greenery of a forest was no easy task to locate. They were divided into teams of two in order to cover a larger area and thus increase their chances of success. Yuuri aimed to partner up with his godfather until Wolfram came and dragged him to explore the southern area.

"You're obviously going to be with me... or is there someone else you'd prefer?" The blonde looked at him with a clear look of 'there's only one answer and you'll want to get it right'.

Yuuri gulped while trying to find some steady ground beneath his feet so he could break free from the dominating grip Wolfram had on his arm. He didn't answer the other boy's question, instead he went over to a tree to inspect it. There was some silence between them until Wolfram reminded him to stay close and be careful with his wrist.

Wolfram's words of concern did however leave a warm feeling in the centre of his chest, he got lost within his mind and didn't notice that he was moving further and further away from the blonde.

Yuuri reached a cute stream of crystal water surrounded by some sleek dark grey stones. He continued his search following the flowing water until he stepped on a wet stone. The feeling of losing to gravity took over him as the foot once standing sturdy on the ground rose to be up in the air instead. He landed on his back, the damp grass inflicted cold into his cores but luckily the pain wasn't as bad as when he sprained his wrist. Though he was very unhappy being the only one falling twice within the span of a few days, so humiliating. Thank the Great one that nobody was around to see that. Or so he thought...

"YUURI! Are you okay?!" Wolfram came running, concerned about his fiance sitting on the ground.

The maoh felt a small sting on the side of his left leg, he was about to check what it was when Wolfram pulled him up from the grass covered earth. Yuuri felt a rush of blood run through his entire body, the spot where Wolfram had touched him felt warm, it was similar to the warmth he'd felt in his chest not too long ago. He looked up at the worried prince, meeting his enchanting emerald gaze before falling into the arms of said prince. His vision went dark and all Yuuri could hear now were the deafening sounds of his name being called as it became more faint.

Wolfram watched with horror when the double-black closed his eyes and leaned into his arms. He had been trying to wake up the suddenly collapsed king for who knows how long before Conrad came running. Equally worried but keeping his features calm, Conrad had picked up Yuuri and carried him back to camp where they'd placed him in his tent.

Yuuri felt his hand being hugged by a familiar warmth, he sat up, a headache rushing through his temple's side. The darkness of his surroundings made it difficult to see but soon enough his eyes got used to it and he could make out the contours of items around him and that he was in his tent.

What caught his interest first were the golden locks on his lap and the cold hand squeezing his own tightly. He was used to Wolfram sleeping next to him but right now the other boy was sitting next to him with his head using Yuuri's legs as a pillow. Wolfram's worried face made Yuuri's heart clench as his grip of the cold hand became tighter, he didn't like seeing anyone have bad dreams but this was different.. He wanted to see Wolfram's smiling face more than ever right now. The double-black leaned forward to embrace the other one's warmth, in the moment he also got a whiff of the sweet strawberry allure from the fluffy blond hair in front of him.

"Hm..?"

Wolfram opened his heavy eyelids to see his fiance's arms around him, the hand he had held so desperately was responding in the same way, in fact it was holding on to him with more force. The dark strands of hair hanging down tickled Wolfram's face as he rose up, breaking the hug but continued to grasp on to the other boy sitting in bed.

"Yuuri? What are you doing? Are you feeling alright?"

Their gazes met yet Yuuri didn't manage to say anything, he was staring at Wolfram's hair sticking in all directions. "Cute..." he whispered under his breath, though he quickly looked down the second he realised that he had expressed his thoughts out loud but luckily the new woken Wolfram didn't seem to have comprehended what he'd said. Right before Yuuri was about to answer the question from earlier, Conrad came in. The evening sun shone brightly in through the small gaps between the tall brunette and the tents fabric surrounding them. His espresso orbs shifted from looking at the maoh to down at the two hands connected with interlocked fingers, the boy's let go of each other as they noticed where his interest had gone.

"How are you feeling, your Majesty?" The half mazoku asked with genuine concern but a subtle smile was building up from having accidentally interrupted an intimate moment. "You had us all quite worried there for a second" he added.

Yuuri felt so embarrassed that he couldn't even look his godfather in the eye, instead he kept his head down looking at the grey blanket covering his lower body and muttered, "Don't call me your Majesty when you're the one that named me..."

"Of course, are you hurting anywhere, Yuuri?" Conrad noticed while observing the young king, that he was hiding a blush and rather than answer the question he just shaked his head. His own younger brother on the other hand kept his head up high and proud despite the pinkness overcoming his cheeks. The atmosphere was still awkward but Conrad made sure to tell them to eat something and then get some more rest.

The outside smelled like smoke mixed with a delicious scent of meat sizzling which made Yuuri mouth water and stomach respond with a loud growl. He turned around, Wolfram was right behind him coming out of the tent. He grabbed the other boy by the hand and dragged him all the way to the fire where the food was being prepared.

Wolfram had been so taken aback by Yuuri's gesture that he didn't even pay attention to where they were heading, though he didn't need to wonder for long as they sat down next to each other by the burning fire. The flames burning with a hissing sound, like the one's a snake would make, complemented Yuuri's skin as the king's face was lit up by the moving light.

The moon's gracious presence made itself known by shining the brightest on the black canvas where it was rising. Yuuri felt exhausted but there was a conflict within him fighting the urge to go to bed and rest or stay up sitting next to Wolfram by the fire for a little while more. He'd been thinking about it so much that a headache grew and his vision slowly turned blurry, he excused himself from the company of others to get some water in hopes that it would clear up his mind.

He had a hard time finding the water in the dark tent where most of the food as well as the supplies were gathered. He couldn't really taste the water once he found it either, but since the same thing happened when he was eating, the taste of meat had been rather faint, so he didn't think much of it. He would come to regret not carefully making sure that what he was drinking was actually the clear liquid he was looking for as he rubbed his eyes from being tired which made galaxy's appear before him. Only once his sight sharpened up could he tell that the bewarage in his hand was not water but something entirely else.

He was going to make his way back to Wolfram but with each step he took, he felt himself losing control over his legs as he started to more or less wobble his way back. He already spotted the golden prince from a distance but that was not all he saw. Wolfram was talking to someone else, some tall guy with dark hair. He felt an overwhelming wave of insecurity overcome him before it rapidly changed into anger as he stomped with determent steps towards his fiance.

Conrad had indulged in a conversation with Wolfram during the absence of the king that practically glued himself to the prince's side all afternoon. When Wolfram intended to retrieve the double-black maoh, Conrad said something that caught his attention in an instant as he stopped in his step and turned around and faced his older brother.

"What did you say?" Wolfram's features were turning sour at what the swordsman had asked.

"I said, your Majesty has been all over you for the past few hours now. Did you do something to him? Or did something happen?" He smirked. Conrad, like any other sibling took pleasure in agitating his younger brother, though he was actually curious over the sudden development in Yuuri's and Wolfram's relationship.

"What exactly are you referring to? I haven't done anything." Wolfram could feel the veins on his forehead pulsate with anger. The comment on Yuuri spending time with him was one thing but what really got his blood to boil was that Conrad had the audacity to imply that something must've happened to Yuuri for him to show affection towards his own fiance.

"You two held hands earlier, didn't you? Are you sure nothing happened for such a drastic change of heart?" This came out harsher than intended. Conrad wasn't out to break them up or anything but it was his duty to protect the king and the unexpected behaviour that Yuuri was exhibiting needed to be further looked into even if it hurt the pride of his sibling when doing so.

"That wa-" Wolfram was about to defend himself against this ruthless brother of his when a certain double-black walked straight towards him, visible fury in his gaze. Yuuri reached out his hand grabbing ahold of Wolfram's and pulled them both up in the air in front of Conrad.

"He's mine"
