Liam P.O.V.

There are sirons in the distance but all I hear is the crunching of my shoes against the recked house.

Gratefully.....The tornado only hit the kitchen and my parents' room....but not my room. Ungratefully....there was nothing we could find in there. I stand in the middle of my partly torn down house thinking, what did I do wrong? But maybe the answer is nothing.

I didn't know who I really was and I might never know. But the real question is.....Who's Keys?

And what did they have to do with my family? I laid in my room near the door staring at the giant whole the tornado left. I opened the book we found in the safe below the house. I flip through the book and look at the different creatures.

Dragons, Cyclops', Werewolves. Why does this matter? Why are they so obsessed with the supernatural? And what the hell is a Jed? I flip to the diary and start reading.

Day 17:

It's been the worst journey I've ever experienced. Horrible monsters, traps, people, everything. I'm in the ship now. But I don't think I'll be able to make it any farther. It's too dangerous. But.....I want my son to know....that I tried to tell him the truth. But I just couldn't. The first Jed, it's in the wall.

I read it over and over again, making sense of it in my head. What does it mean wall? What wall? Then it clicked. I rush downstairs and to the wall in my living room.

I stand on the couch and look at the plain wall. I reach my hand out to it. I press my hand to the wall and an electrical current connects my hand and the wall together.

I pull my hand back quickly. I start to do it again when a voice comes from behind me.

"Liam?"

I turn around to see Lydia standing by the door looking at me curiously.

"Oh hey,"

"What are you doing?" She walks toward me.

I turn back to the wall. "Oh well...." I grab the book off of the couch and open it to the page. "...I was looking through the book and I found this," I handed her the book and she stands on the couch and reads it over.

"So what it's in this wall?" She points to the wall in front of me.

"I'm not sure," I reach my hand out to touch the wall again and the electricity came between it again. This time I pressed my whole hand to the wall and closed my eyes. I breathed in and out slowly, trying to calm my nerves.

I'm halfway to calm when Lydia starts talking.

"Um....Liam,"

I open my eyes and look down at the ground annoyed. "What....Lydia,"

"Look," I look up at the wall. It has the symbol engraved with what looks like fire. I can see it. I back away slightly.

"I can see it," I whisper.

"Oh my god Liam," I turn to her worried as she looks freaked out. "What?"

She points at my hand and I look down. "That,"

I look at my hand to see it's a bright red like the rods in an oven. I stare at it and turn it around over and over like it's gonna do anything.

Lydia grabs it but quickly drops it again pulling her hand away. "Ow," I grab her hand with my non-heat resistant one and see it's burned. "You're like fire Liam,"

I look up at her with a look of worry when I hear a sound behind me. We both turn around and see the wall split open to reveal a dark room.

I pop my head inside but I still can't see anything. But what I did know was that it looked pretty long. I turned my head around and I looked at Lydia.

"I think it's a tunnel," She looks in too and nods her head.

"Or a cave," She says.

"Or both,"

"Come on," I climb into the tunnel and Lydia looks at me like I'm insane.

"Are you crazy!? We don't know what's in there!"

"Exactly why we need to find out so are you coming or not?" I look at her questionably and she sighs and reaches her hand out. I grab it and help her up and we walk farther into the tunnel. We keep walking slowly as the air is thick and our breathing is shallow.

"Is there even anything down here?" Lydia asks. I roll my eyes. "I'm sure there I-" Suddenly a wall hits my face and I stumble backwards but Lydia catches me. I straighten up and look at the wall that broke my nose. I reach out and touch it.

Even the slightest touch caused electricity. I kept my hand there long enough to where the wall slid aside revealing a cave. I look inside to see a spacious cave. It looks like it was naturally developed, yet still in pretty amazing shape. I walk inside cautiously and gesture Lydia inside too.

"What is it?" She asks.

"A cave,"

"I know I mean that,"

"What?"

"That," She points to the sharp crystal in the middle of the cave. I squint at it to see the gem plainly stuck inside the crystal. I walk forward and walk up to the jem.

"Jed," I turn around and look at Lydia curiously.

"What?"

"That's the Jed,"

"How do you know?"

"I don't know. A feeling I guess. I just.....know,"

"You seriously scare me sometimes just so you know,"

"Says the boy who cried werewolf," I roll my eyes and look at the Jed.

It looks different than the picture. The black almost smokyness and the glossiness is the same but it's a different color. And it's a necklace. It's red laced with black and shines brighter than the sun. Pretty amazing I'd say. I reach out for it slowly.

I can feel the tension radiating off of Lydia staring at it behind me. I gently grab the necklace and somehow, it slips out of the rock easily and I release it. Suddenly a random breeze flows over my face as I hold up the necklace. I look at Lydia confused.

"You felt the breeze to right?" She nods at me in agreement. I put the necklace on and....I'm not sure what it is....but this overwhelming feeling engulfed me in a cocoon of power. It was the best feeling I've ever felt before. Besides the day I met Stiles of course. I could tell Lydia was looking at me curiously.

"Woah,"

"Woah? What does 'woah' mean?"

"I don't.....I mean.....I have no idea,"

"Of course you don't," She looks at the charm and holds it in her hand. I'm at a loss of words and.....I don't know what to really do now.

While I'm thinking Lydia's voice interrupts me.

"Liam,"

"Yeah?" I turn to her.

"This is half a heart," I look down at the charm in her hands. It is. Cracked right down the middle. "Woah. It is,"

"So that must mean....the other half of it...." She looks up at me.

".....Is the other Jed,"

I think about where the other Jed could be. I think of all the clues. The hints. The Journal. The code. The necklace. The Jed. The half heart. The- Wait! The code. The Journal. This feeling I'm getting I don't......get it. But then.....it clicked. I smiled deviously.

"Come on," I grab her hand and pull her up.

"Key what?" Stiles looks at me like I'm just a little bit paranoid. Which don't get me wrong was totally true.

"Key West. Just look it up,"

"Why? What is it?" Stiles turns to the computer in Stiles' room and starts typing. "I don't know. I just got this feeling that.....told me the answer,"

"Because of what the necklace?" Malia says laying on Stiles' bed staring at the ceiling.

"I guess, maybe, I don't know,"

"So basically you know everything but you don't know how you know what you know," Stiles says still staring at the computer.

"Y-yes? No? I don't know,"

"Of course you don't," Malia says.

"How does this help us get to Seven?" Derek says standing by the computer.

I stop pacing the room and look at him. "I......don't know. But I hope it will,"

Derek rolls his eyes and walks over to the chair in the room. "Oh how helpful this is," I rolled my eyes at his sarcastic tone.

"Wonder how many times you've been on that chair Derek," I shoot back.

"It's not really the chair but more the bed," I spin my head around and he winks at me. I shoot him daggers and growl.

"Ouch," Malia says still facing the ceiling.

"Well how many times has he said my name instead of yours?" I say back and smile at Derek who growls at me and flashes his blue eyes.

"Wounded," Malia snickers at what her own comment.

"Don't go there," Derek warned.

"So it's true,"

"Don't make me rip your throat out....With. My. Teeth,"

"Don't make me pull your head off.....With. My. Claws,"

"As long as you leave the lower accessories alone,"

"Bite me Wolfy,"

"I would but Scott beat me to it,"

"I got something," Stiles says interrupting the conversation. I turn to him and pull up a seat and Malia jumps off the bed and leans over Stiles' shoulder along with Derek.

"So who is it?"

"It's not a who it's a what,"

"What?" Malia says.

"Exactly. Key West. An island off the coast of Florida. But still the southern most point of the U.S. And apparently at that point your closer to Cuba than you are to Miami.....whatever that means,"

"I went there once. With my family....What about the history of it?" Derek asks.

"Let me see..." Stiles searches through the computer until he comes across what he needs. "Ah ha! Here we go. Um....Well the motto is one human family. Kind of weird I'd say,"

"Why just human family? I mean, even if they do prefer humans then it wouldn't have to be implied," I say.

"What you think they.....know about supernatural?" Derek says.

"It's a possibility," I say.

"Maybe ancestors?" Malia suggests.

"For who me?" I point to myself.

Malia shrugs. "Could be,"

"I guess. Stiles keep reading," He nods and stares back at the screen.

"Okay well....Apparently Key West is part of the many, many, many, many Keys of the Florida Keys,"

"How many?" I ask.

"Too many of them to count. There. Are. Dozens. There's the Indian Key, the Fiesta Key, the Long Key, the Duck Key, the Little Duck Key, the Conch Key and many, many more,"

"What's the point of all these keys?" Malia says.

"Not sure. But some of them can't be reached by car or bus. Over the 7-mile bridge is how you get to Key West,"

"7 miles?" Malia asks.

"7 miles. Keep reading Stiles," Derek says.

"Okay then. History wise. Well.....let's see....here. On Sunday May 15th, 1513, Ponce de Leon and fellow Spanish Chronicler Antonio de Herrera went searching for the fountain of youth but instead found the Florida Keys. It was in the same time Christopher Columbus found out the world wasn't flat. Apparently the Florida Keys was the closest they could find to the fountain of youth," Stiles read.

I skimmed it over. "Wait. Leon? Herrera? That's.....the last name of great great grandpa. Leon was his best friend," Stiles, Derek, and Malia turn to me.

"Called it! Ancestors! Boom!" Malia says. I roll my eyes.

"So then, they found the place so what?" I say looking around.

"Well is no one seeing the pattern here? His ancestors made this place what it is. And they were searching for the fountain of youth. But the motto is one human family. Something's telling me their not big supernatural fans," Stiles says.

"Hunters," Derek mutters. "Probably a family of them. Past down,"

Stiles leans back in his chair. "Exactly,"

"But.....how could my family be hunters? If they were don't you think they'd believe in like....supernatural stuff isn't doing any good for the human race? Cause if that's true then they wouldn't be looking for the fountain of youth,"

"Well......maybe their hunters with powers?" Stiles suggests.

In stare at him. "What?"

"I've actually heard of that before. Supernatural hunters. They often don't turn into anything. It's more magic I guess you could say. With them they only hunt 'were' something and kitsunai's. Ya know, werejaguars, werecoyote, Werewolves.....Kitsunai," Derek says.

"So.....what does that have to do with Seven?"

"Maybe his family was killed by yours. Avenging,"

"Seriously!?"

"It's a possibility," Derek shrugs.

I roll my eyes. "But we don't know anything about his family,"

Derek smiles. "Then find out,"

I growl at him. This isn't gonna end well. Derek leans into Stiles and kisses him. My blood boiles and clench my fists.

"Uh.....Liam?" I hear Malia's voice and it pisses me off.

"What!?" I spin around and a ring of fire inches from her face wizzes by her and she backs away staring in fear. My eyes open wide as I stare at my hand that was red but slowly fading in color.

"I was gonna say your hand is glowing," Malia says breathing heavily. I snap my hand down and Derek and Stiles stare at me in shock.

What the hell did I just do?
