Michael Clifford

Michael stood quietly by Allisons bedside, smiling softly at her as she slept peacefully. The nurse came in, checking on Allisons heart rate before she left, allowing the visitors to come in.

"Dad, I don't think she has much longer." Scarlett whispered, and Luke moved so he was sitting beside his wife. Luke and Allison had been married sixty-two years, getting married nearly two years after her accident.

"She'll be alright, Scarlett. I'm sure of it." Luke said quietly, his voice cracking as he stared at the woman that he was still madly in love with. He gave a smile to his family before they left, and he shut the door after them, returning to Allisons side once again.

"I love you Allison. I know you've been struggling for so long, but I'm okay with it. You can let go now. I love you so much." Luke whispered, his eyes stinging as tears formed and he looked down, blinking rapidly.

Allison opened her eyes, weakly lifting her arm to brush Luke's cheek gently, giving him a soft smile. He captured her hand in his own, kissing the inside of it gently.

"I love you Luke." Allison whispered, and Michael felt his throat tighten as he watched Allison let go, too weak to even hold her hand up.

Michael stepped forward, placing his ring into her hand and she gasped as she saw him once again. He smiled weakly, his wings unfolding as he moved beside her.

"Allison." He breathed out, and Allison let out a shaky breath as she watched Luke excuse himself, her heart breaking as she heard him sob.

"Michael." Allison said, her voice cracking and he smiled as he sat beside her, tucking in his wings. He kissed her forehead gently, careful not to touch anything and she smiled.

"All these years Michael. I thought you were dead. I thought you gave your life up for me, and it killed me." Allison said, and Michael frowned as he looked down at his feet.

"I'm sorry Allison." He said, honesty in his voice and Allison nodded her head weakly.

"You still look as beautiful as ever." Michael said, causing Allison to laugh, until she started coughing and Michael grimaced.

"I'm eighty-eight years old Michael, I haven't looked beautiful for fifty years." She said, her voice shaky and Michael shook his head.

"I still love you Allison. I always have, and I always will." Michael said, and Allison reached out for Michael's hand, which he softly held in his own.

"And I love you Michael." And with her last words, she gladly let Death take her.

Allison Raina Hemmings passed away at eighty-eight years old, leaving her family behind as well as her husband, but it wasn't for long.

Luke passed away shortly after Allison, and the two were buried together as they promised each other even into the afterlife.

When Allison was first supposed to die due to the car accident, Michael instead sacrificed his own immortality so Allison could live the rest of her life happily.

However, Celeste rewarded Michael and allowed him to stay immortal, just he wouldn't be a Shinigami anymore, (which didn't bother Michael too much).

It allowed him to watch over and protect Allison for the rest of her life, despite not being able to see her or talk to her until the time came for her to die.

What many didn't know though, was that there wasn't a normal Heaven or Hell as so many believed, but there was an afterlife.

Allison spent the rest of her immortal life by Michael's side. Both Michael and Celeste had somehow convinced Ashton to allow her to live with Michael, because Celeste believed in a happily ever after.

And for once, Michael found his happily ever after.

omg I can't believe this is over :(( I had so much fun writing this and I hope you loved reading it!!! Stay tuned, there may be a prequel that features more of Celeste and Ashton, and the story of how the Inochi goddess of life came to fall for the King of Death. Don't know yet but for sure I have another book coming out!!!
