Elena made her way through Lafayette cemetery. She had the yearn close by her side. She realized that if Elijah wouldn't help the Gilbert girl, then Elena would take matters into her own hands. She would raise Esther on her own. Though Rebekah wouldn't let Elena do it by herself completely. The Gilbert girl had earned the blonde originals trust enough for her to help Elena distract Davina.

Elena snuck into the spot Davina had prepared to resurrect Kol. Elena had tried her best to hurry and switch out the ashes. She gently placed the yearn with Esther's ashes inside. She slid Kol's into her bag and snuck out of the cemetery just in time.

The Gilbert girl strolled down the street, hurrying back to Elijah. Elena knew that even the slightest, he'd be disappointed in her but she had to do something. It wasn't like Elena to sit back and do nothing when Klaus had asked her to help.

She had to do anything in her power to protect the ones she loves. Elena knew just the plan. Elena stepped through the front door of the mansion, only to be thrown against the wall by Elijah. As soon as he had realized who it was, Elijah had quickly rushed to the brunettes side.

"Elena, my apologies. It appears I'm still a bit paranoid." He apologized as he helped the girl to her feet. "I need you to come with me, we're going to save your brother. But you have to trust me?" Elena mutters to the original who shook his head in response.

"Rebekah will be arriving shortly, with your mother. I'll explain on the way." She frantically replies as the two rushed out to Elena's car.

Elena and Elijah quickly drove through the streets of New Orleans, running at least five stop lights. Though the brunette didn't care much for stop lights, she had much more important things on her mind. Elena began explaining to Elijah about what they would plan to do. Both Elena and Elijah would distract Klaus and Dahlia enough for Rebekah and Freya to arrive with Esther along with the weapon to kill Dahlia.

Elena knew it was risky, but she had to do what ever it takes to save the ones she loves and cares for and the man she had truly wanted to be with. She would do it in the name of family.
