Chapter 1: 121045

Grace Field House...

A symmetrical flat-hexagonal complex used to raise children.

She is for all intents and purposes, their mother, though they have no blood relation.

They spend most of their waking time together, but they are not siblings.

...

...

...

In the inside of a metal bar gate, a small orange haired toddler with bright green eyes grabbed onto the metal gate while looking into the black abyss behind the bar she had grabbed onto.

"Hey guys..." She said in her young and petite voice. "What is this?"

"A gate. It connects the inside and outside." Said a young boy with black hair.

"Outside?" Questioned the young orange haired girl. "We've never been outside."

"That's because we haven't left here since being born." Said a second boy with white hair.

"So is this what mom always tells us about?" The young orange haired girl smiled while looking back at the dark abyss. "Never go near the gate or fence in the back of the forest, 'cause it's dangerous." She quoted.

"She says that, but it's not true." Said the black haired boy.

"It's not?" Asked the white haired boy.

"Hey, Ray, what would you do outside, huh?" Asked the orange haired girl curiously.

"I don't know. You, Emma?" Said the black haired boy, supposed to be named Ray.

"I'd ride a giraffe!" She quickly answered with stars in her eyes.

Ray turned around and scoffed. "Good luck."

Young Emma then turned to her left and said, "What about you, Marianna?"

A young girl, looking like their age, had short moonlight hair with shiny sunny eyes and a pink and white bow adorned on her head just kept looking out passed the gate and she answered...

"I want to go see the stars."

The two young boys gasped while young Emma, once again, had stars in her eyes and just kept looking at her friend.

She then said, "One day..."

The three of them just continued to stare at her as she began to finish, "I'll take you all there and we can look at the stars... together." She gently smiled.

Marianna then turned to her three friends, she raised up her pinkie, and she then said, "I pinky promise."

The three of them looked at each other and then smiled, as they too, raised their pinkie fingers and interlocked pinkies with each other, keeping a great promise with each other.

Six Years Later:

The sun started to awaken and the birds morning chirping has begun as the clock stroke 6 am and the bell started to toll.

As the sounds of the bell went off, a young girl with scruffy brown hair started to open her matching brown eyes, and to her surprise, a familiar face of a long moonlight haired locking with golden sunny eyes.

"AGGGHHHHHHH!!!!"

The brown haired girl jumped right out of her bed and landed hard on the wooden floor, aching from the fall she just took.

"Good morning Zara." Said the young girl nonchalantly.

"MARIANNA!" Yelled Zara with a scare. "Geez! Don't scare me like that! And why do you always have to hover over my bed like that!"

"How else am I supposed to wake you up?" She questioned expressionless.

"Uh-never mind..." She said while disregarding her last statement.

Marianna got down from the ground as she started to walk past Zara.

As she walked past her, Zara saw that Marianna had no shoes on... again.

"You still going to walk around barefoot?" She asked.

Marianna's eyes looked at Zara and then looked away as she replied, "Shoes are a hassle. It doesn't really bother me."

Zara just looked at Marianna's dirty feet that she's been doing for the last five years.

"Zara." She said, gaining her attention. "Hurry up and get dressed. You're going to miss breakfast."

When Zara finally got dressed into her white uniform, overlapping chatter of children started go around the halls:

"I'm gonna get you!" Said a black haired boy named Thoma.

"Yeah, right!" Said a slicked up blonde boy named Lannion.

As Marianna and Zara were walking past the running younger children, they were greeted by a young lightly pigtailed blonde six-year-old with blue eyes and accompanied by a white stuffed rabbit.

"Onee-chan!" She greeted Marianna.

"Good morning, Conny". She greeted.

Not a while later, a orange haired 11-year-old girl named Emma came by while holding the four-year-old Phil in her arms.

"Good Morning, Marianna and Zara!" She greeted.

"Good Morning Emma!" The two greeted at the same time.

"Good Morning, Don! Morning, Conny! You, too, Little Bunny!" Emma greeted.

"Good Morning!" Said Don.

"Good Morning, Emma!" Said Conny.

Emma looked back at Marianna. "Wow Marianna! Your hair is getting longer!" She exclaimed. Emma clapped her hands together and said, "Please tell me your not going to cut it! Pretty please!!!"

Marianna looked up at her bangs and just intertwined the strands of hair between her fingers.

"Okay."

"Huh?"

"I won't cut it." Said Marianna.

Emma clapped her hands in happiness and ran up to Marianna and gave her a big hug.

Marianna just stood there with a nonchalant expression on her face.

The six-year-old girl named Conny came up to Marianna and asked her, "Hey Onee-Chan. Can you give me a piggyback ride, please?"

Marianna sweetly smiled at Conny and said, "Of course, Conny."

Conny excitedly hopped onto Marianna's back and the two started to make their way towards Emma.

"Hey! How come you don't give me a piggyback ride?!" Exclaimed Zara while pointing to herself.

Marianna stopped as she turned to Zara and said nonchalantly, "Because you're too heavy."

"Eh?!"

As Zara was in shock by Mariana's response, Phil immediately hopped onto Emma back as he grabbed her right cheek and started to squeeze it.

As Phil was squeezing Emma's cheek and as soon as Marianna, Conny, and Zara caught up to Emma, their, just walking by were Ray and Norman.

"Hey, gwuys! Gweod Mhwornningg!" Emma greeted.

"Hi, Emma. Morning Marianna, Conny, and Zara." Said Norman while pushing on the rolling tray table.

"Good morning." Said Ray.

"You're so full of energy, and you haven't even had your breakfast yet." Said Norman.

"Come on. How old are you, five?" Scolded Ray.

Emma put Phil down while she pouted, "I'm 11, same as you guys and one of the oldest kids here!"

In the background, a young women laughs, which caught the attention of Emma.

When Emma turned around, a young women with black hair tied up in a bun with deep purple eyes and wearing sort of a maid uniform.

"You're laughing, too, Mom?" Exclaimed Emma.

The young women turned to Emma with a genuine smile. "Emma, come help me out."

Emma ran into Mom's arms while still having her pouty face. "In a minute!" She said. "I wanna redo my entrance, 'cause Ray teased me!"

Mom continued to smile, as she opened her deep purple eyes and said to Emma, "Why change it? It showed just what I love about you."

"That I'm five years old at heart?" She asked while looking up at Mom's deep purple eyes.

Mom shook her head. "That isn't what I meant. I love how deeply you care about your family."

Emma just stared at Mom's eyes as Mom cupped Emma's cheeks.

Emma sweetly smiled at Mom and giggles. "Thank you, Mom. I'm glad."

Meanwhile at the dinner table...

"And here we are." Sang Marianna as she layed Conny down on her wooden chair.

"Thanks, Onee-Chan!" Thanked Conny with a cute smile on her face.

"Oh, but aren't you forgetting something?"

"Huh?" Conny questioned.

Marianna started to dig the inside of her buttoned up white blouse.

"Abracadabra POOF!"

And just like a magician she pulled out Little Bunny.

Conny's eyes sparkled at Marianna's magic trick as she cuddled her arms onto Little Bunny's fluffy stuffed body.

Mom giggled at Marianna's trick. "You are so amazing at your little magic tricks, Marianna. That's what we love about your little mischievous side."

Marianna smiled as she hugged Mom and said, "Thanks, Mom."

Mom pointed her index finger as she said, "Now you better sit down before all the food is gone."

Marianna nodded as she took her seat and Mom grabbed her little bell and rang it and all the children's chatter had quieted down.

"Good Morning to you, my darling children." She announced. "Now let us appreciate that all 40 of you are able to live happy lives under this roof."

Mom cupped her hands together and formed it into a prayer and all of the remaining 40 children followed her and did the same.

"We are thankful."

"Thank you for our breakfast."

63194, Emma...

22194, Norman...

34394, Phil...

81194, Ray...

71481, Marianna...

11413, Zara...

And lastly, 48294, Conny...

Mom grabbed a forkful of Conny's food and said, "Now open wide."

Conny opened her mouth wide, making a "ahh" sound effect and gulping into her food.

"Yummy!" She said with a smile.

Mom grabbed a napkin and washed the leftovers off Conny's cheeks. "You're acting like a little baby, aren't you, Conny?"

"It's okay, right? Especially today!"

"Of course."

I love them all. My beloved mother and siblings. Who gives a crap if we're not blood related? There's nothing I hold more dear. That entire house... is my family.

They are... my everything. In our run-of-the-mill. We just live ordinary, normal days.

The plush beds, foods that tasted gourmet, our snow white uniforms, the identification numbers on our necks, and...

The litany of daily exams.

"Age 11, Type One. Answer each question within ten seconds. When you hear the tone, begin."

*Beep*

The timer started to tick as the digital lights of each screen started to go off and the only thing in their hands was a plugged in technological like pen or scanner and on their screens were shapes and a barcode that each child scanned when they were ready.

Each time the children scanned the barcode, the scanner would make a whirring sound.

Every child's eyes were glowing and some of them had determined faces, some had saddened faces, focused faces, and some had very calm faces.

Once their ten seconds were up, the buzzer from their headphones went off and they all put their scanners down.

"Well, I think I got at least half." Said Thoma with confidence.

"That many? Wow!" Complimented a boy.

"I'm jealous. I didn't get most of the questions." Said Conny.

"Let's quiet down and go through the results." Announced Mom.

Mom took out a stack full of paper and looked down at the results and read, "Norman, Ray, Emma, Marianna, perfect scores again! Fantastic! I'm so proud! But Zara, you were only one step behind Marianna."

"Darn it!" Zara began to scruff her hair in frustration.

"I told you to study but you didn't listen to me." Scolded Marianna.

"I thought I could remember it all!!!"

"You can't remember everything you've learned. That's why you study."

"Aw!!" She exclaimed and face planted herself onto the digital screen.

"It's okay. You'll get it next time, Zara!" Supported Emma.

"Yeah. None of us even come close to those four." Added a boy. "Norman alone's smarter than all of us combined, and then there's Ray, who's good at solving any problem he's faced with. Marianna's like a human calculator. She can solve any problem without even trying. And to top it off, Emma learns really fast, so she can keep up with them, easy."

"They say the house has never had four kids at this level together before." Said a young girl.

"Then, no wonder Mom's proud of the-

"Norman!" Roars Don.

"Hmm?" Said Norman.

"I'm challenging you to tag!"

To that response Norman only smiled and chuckled.

Meanwhile Outside...

All the children began to cheer and run into different directions and onward into the depths of the forest.

Once all the children were out of sight, Norman looked over to Ray. Ray looked up towards Norman and checked the time on his stopwatch.

Ray looked up at Norman and he nodded and started running towards the forest.

Ray sighs as he puts down his stopwatch and continues to read his book.

Meanwhile In The Forest...

All the younger children under the age of nine, we're hiding in the green leaves of the bushes while looking out for the seeker, Norman.

A young boy with red eyes and short, neatly-kept red hair styled in a bowl cut and bangs was looking out to see if Norman was their. To the left, to the right, and in front.

However, coming from behind, a hand had patted on the red headed boy, causing him to yelp, along with the other children.

Meanwhile Where Don and Conny are...

"Come get us, Norman! We'll outrun you this time for sure!" Taunted Don. "Right, Conny?"

Conny cuddled Little Bunny as she spoke, "Don, thanks for always being there to help me."

Don smiled and started to run over to Conny's side. "Nah, you don't have to thank me. I'll always help anytime, anywhere you need me."

Conny happily smiled and giggled. She put her index finger up to her mouth and said, "Shh."

Don gasps and immediately covered his mouth, but immediately saw foot prints in the muddy ground.

"Eh? Oh."

Conny groans as she started to get scared.

"Judging from the size of these footprints...

Don smiled and chuckled. "You let your guard down, Norman."

As Don was being confident, Conny looked behind her and giggled, causing Don to turn around and be started by someone being behind him.

When Don looked behind him, he saw that Norman was one step ahead of him.

"No, Don. You did." Said Norman with a smile.

Norman walked towards Don and patted on his shoulder. "I tell you this every time. Your weakness is that you make a judgement too quickly and then lose your cool."

Norman chuckled and waved Conny goodbye and started to make his way to his next targets.

With that, Don only sighed in defeat as he and Conny started to make their way to the base.

Later...

When Don and Conny made it to their base, they saw all of the children their nervously laughing of being found by Norman.

"What the heck? He got practically everyone!" Exclaimed Don.

"That happens when Norman's it." Said the red headed boy.

A young girl with long light braided blonde and light blue eyes faces another young girl with a big pair of circular-lensed glasses over her grey eyes and has short, straight olive drab hair kept in a Chinese bob hairstyle.

"There's only three survivor's left." Said the braided hair girl.

"Yeah." Nodded the bobbed hair girl. "Emma, Zara, and Mariana are still going!"

Emma P.O.V:

Tree climbing, hide-and-seek, tag... we've been playing these games in this forest since we were little.

The forest which surrounds the house from all our sides... is the garden that all of us siblings know like the back of our hands.

The house grounds stretch far and wide, but despite all that expansive terrain, there were just two places we were told never to go near.

"Oh."

I chuckle as I saw Norman running right beside me, chasing me and trying to catch up.

I heard him chuckle and saw him smile, but all that caused me was to run even faster!

As I ran faster, I saw a cliff right by and I immediately jumped through it no problem and just kept running.

As I kept running, I found the perfect hiding place where Norman couldn't find me. I climbed onto the tree layed on all fours on a very thick tree trunk.

Just as soon as I relaxed I saw Norman from below the tree and accidentally, the leaves started to fall probably making it obvious, but I won't give in just yet! Just you wait, Norman.

As I only watched from above, the next thing I knew is that I saw Norman walking away and suddenly he tripped over a big layer of rock and landed face first.

I immediately gasped and aimlessly got off the huge tree and hurriedly ran over to Norman's side.

"Norman!" I said.

When I checked to see if he was okay, he only turned around and had a smile on his face.

"Just pretending." He said.

"What?!" I exclaimed. "You had me worried about you!"

"Emma, your weakness is that you're too nice." He said as he patted on shoulder.

I gasped in surprise about what he said and just stood their when suddenly...

"Ahhhhh!!!"

We turned around and saw that Zara had fallen out of the exact tree that I was hiding from. I didn't even see her right by me, she must be very good at hiding.

"Zara!" We both said in worried tones and immediately ran over to Zara's side.

"Ow, ow, ow!" She mumbled while putting her palm on her back.

"Are you okay?" Norman asked.

"Yeah. I'm fine. I just lost my balance, that's all." She said.

"That's good." I said. "Wait... where's Marianna."

And just as soon as I asked, Marianna popped out of the tree while hanging upside down and we just looked at her amazed of her hiding spot.

Meanwhile back at the house...

Original POV:

"I can't believe we caught me again! Why do I keep losing?! So frustrating!!" Exclaimed Emma while laying down on the grass throwing her fists onto the ground.

Norman, Marianna, Zara, and Ray just sat their and watching Emma having her temper tantrum.

"Question. What's Norman good at that you're not?" Asked Ray.

Emma just stared at Ray and started to think about what he said. "Hmm. Uh, planning ahead... and staying calm? I guess he's also good at being smart."

"It's strategy." Said Ray.

Emma looked back up at Ray with her eyes widened.

"Just think. If it's about simple physical ability, then you have the upper hand, but it's more than that. Norman has brains like no other, and tag is a game where you compete with strategy." Said Ray.

"In a game of tag?" Questioned Emma.

"Way I see it, tag's like chess, but using your whole body. Don't you think so, Norman?" Said Ray.

"Yeah, sure. But I'd say that you're more of a tactician than I am, Ray." Said Norman.

"I don't know about that." Said Ray.

"So try to anticipate the enemy's moves." Mumbled Emma.

"But still, we can't compare to Mom's ability to read a situation." Said Norman.

"That's true." Said both Zara and Emma while Marianna just nodded in agreement.

"Come to think of it, none of us have ever been able to beat her at chess, huh? Even Marianna and she's the master of board games." Emma said with a smile.

Norman chuckles while Ray sighed.

"Norman!" Yelled Don. "Rematch! Next game, everyone is gonna be it but you!"

"Calm down!" Scolded Emma.

"Don's all worked up again." Sighed the glasses girl.

Norman got up and accepted Don's request and was up for the challenge.

***

The second game had began and every child started to spread out and find Norman.

Meanwhile in the forest...

Phil started to run and find Norman, while the long braided haired girl and the glasses one just peacefully walked.

Meanwhile with Emma...

Emma continued to walk straight ahead into the forest as she can hear the bird's singing voices and their wings flapping along the way.

While she heard those noises, she then gasps as she sees a very familiar outlook ahead of her.

As she started to walk up the hill and her feet making its way through the grass, she saw a very small fence, child sized like, and she just stared at it.

She then looked to her right and saw Marianna and Zara standing there with her. Then she looked to her left, and their she saw Norman standing by her and he too, was staring at the child sized fence.

Emma started to walk to Norman and once she was close enough, she patted on his shoulder and to her, it was like he awoke from a trance.

Norman smiled at Emma. "Guess you caught me."

Emma let go of his shoulder and looked back at the child sized fence. "Never go near the gate or fence." She repeated.

"Yeah, Mom always tells us that, because going near there can be very dangerous." Said Norman.

"No matter how many times, she always said that to us no matter what." Added Marianna.

"She's says that, but it's not even true."

Emma was started by the sudden voice and they all turned to their right and magically saw Ray right beside them.

"What do you mean by that?" Asked Norman.

"Well, look at it. What part of this do you find dangerous? The fence is low and I don't see anything remotely threatening." Said Ray.

Emma turned to Ray. "But we should do what Mom told us."

"Uh-huh. You really love Mom, don't you?" Said Ray.

"Sure! Everybody does!"

"Hey!" Yelled Don. "What are you guys doing way back here?"

Everyone one playing the game started to catch up to Emma, Zara, Marianna, Norman, and Ray.

"Oh, us the game over?" Asked the glasses girl.

"We should call it a day. If we're out too late, Mom will be worried about us." Said Norman.

Everyone nodded while Don just looked out past the child sized fence.

"Someday..." He spoke. "We'll have to leave here, won't we?"

"This is an orphanage. Of course we'll leave one day, by the time we turn twelve." Said the boy with the neatly cut red hair.

"You know, it's weird." Began the glasses girl. "None of us have ever gotten any letters."

"Letters?" Questioned Emma.

"Now that I think about it, none of our siblings who got adopted had sent letters to us." Said Marianna.

"Yeah." Agreed the glasses girl.

"Oh, that? I'm sure they're just being considerate to their foster parents." Said Norman.

"But, still, we were brought here as babies. We're the only family we know. Even if we aren't blood-related, we're truer siblings than most!" Don argued.

The glasses girl crossed her arms and started to think a little. "Maybe... the outside world is so incredible that they've forgotten all about life at the house."

Emma smiled. "Well, in that case, let's be happy for them."

The glasses girl groans and started to wave her arms up and down. "I want to go outside soon, too!"

"And what would you do out there?" Mocked the red haired boy.

"Isn't it obvious?! Try out new clothes!" Replied the glasses girl.

Don groaned. "This again."

The glasses girl got close to Don's face. "I deserve to! We only have this one uniform! I read a book one time. It said the outside world has hundreds of clothing designs and patterns, and I want to wear them all!"

"I wanna eat all the yummy food." Said one boy.

"I can't wait to find a cute girl to date." Said Don.

"You realize that's an insult, don't you?" Said the glasses girl unamused.

"Oh, I didn't mean it like that." Don said bashfully.

Phil raised his hand as he had a joyous smile on his face. "I want to see a train!"

"Hmm, that's a good one." Complimented Don.

"I know I want to go in a Golden field and stay there forever." Said Zara.

Emma turned to Norman with a smile on her face. "And what about you?"

"Oh, well, I want to travel, to see places I've never been to before." Said Norman.

"Nice! And you, Ray?" She asked.

"Once outside... I'd have to learn to survive first." Said Ray.

Don frowned. "You're such a downer. And you?"

"Who, me?" Questioned Emma.

"You want to ride a giraffe, right?" Said Ray.

"I said that?" Emma jokingly smiled.
"I guess I don't really want to leave, so I'd stay forever."

"Come on. That's not a real answer!" Said Don.

"Why not? We're all happy here, right?" Asked Emma.

Marianna went up to Emma. "Emma, you didn't forget about our promise, did you?"

"Oh, yeah! Sorry I forgot!" Exclaimed Emma as she started to apologize to Marianna.

"Wait what promise?" Asked the glasses girl.

The gang of five all smiled at their siblings as Emma said, "Marianna wants to take all of us to the stars!"

"Whoa!" All of them exclaimed.

"Can you take all of us with you, Onee-chan?" Asked Phil with puppy dog eyes as he hugged onto Marianna's legs.

Marianna just stared at Phil and then sweetly smiled at him as she rubbed his short brown hair.

"Of course, Phil. I'll take all of you there. I promise." She promised all of her siblings which they all happily smiled at each other.

Conny started to walk towards Marianna with Little Bunny in her hands and with a bright smile on her face. "I promise to write you. I'll write you stacks of letters! I won't forget! You mean too much to me, everyone and you Onee-chan!"

Marianna sweetly smiled at Conny as she patted on Conny's head.

"When I grow up, I want to become a Mother just like Mom, and I'd never even think about abandoning my children!"

"You love Mom very much, don't you, Conny?" Asked Emma.

"Mm." Nodded Conny with a very bright and happy smile on her face as she later giggles and the wind started to blow through her adorable pigtails.

Later that night...

"I couldn't run fast, and I wasn't as clever as the rest of you are, but once I leave, I'll do my best! And I can, with Little Bunny's help!"

Some of the other kids had sadder looks on their faces of their younger sibling leaving them for good.

"Conny." Said Don.

As Conny looked up at her siblings again, she frowned as she started to whimper and her eyes started to get all watery. "I don't want to leave you! I want to stay right here! I wanna be with you forever, Onee-chan!"

Conny immediately let go of Little Bunny and ran up towards Marianna and gave her a big hug.

Marianna just stared at Conny for a minute and then later smiled as she patted her head and started to stroke it.

"Conny, I'll miss you!" Don said as he too started crying and then later everyone else.

"Conny." Said Marianna.

Conny looked up and Marianna started to go down Conny's level as she grabbed her handkerchief and wiped Conny's tears.

"Do you remember what I told you last night?" She asked.

Conny nodded.

"Good." Smiled Marianna. "Always remember that every time you miss us, okay?"

Conny smiled as Mom started to grab her hand and led her outside the door, leaving the door to immediately shut closed.

Everyone just stood their by the door and just staring at it as many thoughts in their heads of Conny's new life outside of Grace Field House.

Meanwhile outside of the house...

As the two were walking through the air of the night, Mom held Conny's hand and on her other hand she held a lantern to guide her way through night, but then she started to sing a melody.

Out of curiosity, Conny turned to Mom and asked, "Um, Mom, what song is that?"

Mom slightly turned to Conny, but she didn't answer Conny's question and just kept humming that tune and just kept walking.

Meanwhile inside the house...

After Marianna was done sweeping the hallway, she went inside the dinning hall and just as she was about to grab a washcloth to clean the tables, she gasped and her eyes widened as, there she saw Little Bunny just laying their

She grabbed Little Bunny and went to the hallway and there she saw Emma happily sweeping away.

Marianna went up to Emma and said, "Hey, Emma."

"What's up." She said.

As Emma asked that question, Marianna pulled out Little Bunny from her back and Emma responded with,

"Connnnny?!" She exclaimed with a very started and shocked expression on her face. "You left Little Bunny?!"

Just as Marianna showed Emma Little Bunny, the glasses girl and Norman walked by the hallway just in time.

"Let's hurry and get the cleaning done." Said the glasses girl.

Both Emma and Marianna started to run past them as the glasses girl and Norman saw Little Bunny in Emma's hands.

"Oh, Little Bunny? But Conny's gone!" Exclaimed the glasses girl.

Emma and Marianna stopped in their tracks as Emma looked back at the two and asked, "What should we do?"

"There's still time." Said Ray as he came in with Zara by his side.

"Huh?" Mumbled Emma.

"Yeah, I could see from the window that the lights at the gate were still on. Mom hasn't come back yet either, so I don't think Conny's left just yet." Said Ray.

"Let's Hurry, Emma, Marianna." Said Norman.

Both Emma and Marianna nodded as the two started to make their way to the door.

"Wait!" Called out Zara.

The three of them stopped and looked back at Zara who started to follow them.

"I'm coming too." She said.

"No." Said Marianna sternly.

"What! Why not?!" She asked.

"It's past your bedtime. You stay here with Ray." Said Marianna.

"Your not my mom. Plus I don't want to be around this jerk." Argued Zara while pointing at Ray who turned his head away.

Marianna started to get closer to Zara, patted her shoulders, and then suddenly squeezed Zara's cheeks really hard as she had a very creepy expression on her face.

"Good children are well behaved." She said with a deeper voice.

"Y-Yes ma'am." Stuttered Zara.

Marianna let go of Zara as the three of them started to make a quick run for it to deliver Conny's previous Little Bunny.

Later...

As the two of them made it close to the gate where Mom explicitly told them not to go past, they saw that the gate was opened, signaling for the three of them to go inside.

"Never go near the gate or the fence." Repeated Emma.

"Yeah, I know. We'll both get in trouble later." Said Norman.

The three of them leaned against the wall as Marianna was on the lookout to see if their was anyone there.

Marianna turned to Emma and Norman and gave an all clear sign and all three of them went inside the forbidden gate.

Once inside, their was no sign of Conny or Mom, so Emma whispered, "Conny?"

The three of them started to walk in closer in the forbidden gate, leaving their footsteps to echo through the erie and dark tunnel.

To make it even more creepier, drops of liquid started to fall down on the ground, making a small puddle on the cement ground.

Just as they were walking, right in front of them was a big black carrier truck that immediately caught all of their attention.

"Is that the truck that's gonna take Conny to her new home?" Asked Emma full with curiosity. "I've never seen a vehicle in real life."

"It looks kind of creepy." Added Marianna.

"You think so?" Asked Emma, to which Marianna only nodded.

Norman began to look in the through the inside of the rear, checking what was inside of this truck, as they have never seen a truck before.

Marianna and Emma began to walk around and, once again, heard a small droplet of a puddle so they looked down and saw a very small puddle of droplets on the cement ground.

The two looked up at the ceiling and saw thousands and thousands of pipes going in many different directions. They also saw little bits water coming out of the pipes and landing on the exact spot where the puddle was.

They also looked ahead of them where their was a brick wall and also saw strands of water on the wall, but Marianna wondered how the stream of water got on the bricked wall.

"No one's here." Said Norman.

"Maybe she'll find it if we leave it in here." Said Emma as she and Marianna walked behind the black truck and Emma pointed to the back of the truck where there was a curtain of cloth blocking the entrance of the back.

"Yeah, maybe." Said Norman.

Marianna and Emma started to open up the clothed curtain while Norman began to look around some more.

Suddenly...

A big heavy drop of a stuffed plushy fell on the ground, gaining Norman's attention as he looked back at where Emma and Marianna were.

Emma just stood there as she began to shudder in absolute fear as she began to slowly walk away. Her eyes happy green eyes turned into fearlessly frightened as she pointed inside the back of the truck.

"N-Norman..." She stuttered.

As Norman saw Emma's frightened face, he began to walk towards them, and he saw that Marianna just stood their with the same exact expression that Emma had on right now.

As Norman got closer and once he looked inside, his eyes widened out of complete utter fear and disgust as he breathily gasped at what we had just saw.

Right there, was the blooded corpse of Conny's feeble body. Her skin was inhumanly grey, her eyes were as dead as a fish, her blond pigtailed hair was ragged, she had scattered try blooded marks all over her grey face and clothes, and lastly and most importantly, there was a single red flower piercing through her lifeless heart.

"Oh my god..." Mumbled Marianna out of complete utter fear and disgust of seeing her younger sibling dead corpse right before her eyes.

"Is someone there?" Said a man's dark and low voice.

All three of them gasped in utter fear after hearing this dark and low voice from the other side of the bricked wall.

"Hey, did you hear voices just now?" Said the same man.

"It's just your imagination." Said another man.

Both Marianna and Norman quickly ran to the left side of the black truck, while Emma squabbled a little bit and then immediately grabbed Little Bunny and hid along with Marianna and Norman.

All three of them crawled under the black truck and started to hide there.

Once there, an old and creaky door quickly opened and the sounds of shuffling echoed through the tunnel, causing Marianna, Emma, and Norman to sweat and breath heavily.

"If it was a stray cat, I would have caught it for dinner." Said the man.

"You eat those disgusting things?" Asked the other man in a disgusted tone.

While under the truck, all three of them started to hear the two men's voices heavy footsteps and as they were walking by, Emma got the courage to look above her head.

Once she did, she silently gasps as her eyes showed fear and distress of horrifying thing that she saw of the two men's voices.

They were the opposite of men, they were terrifying, monstrous, and very much inhuman. Scratch that, they were the complete opposite of a complete human being.

They had bulging eyes with animal like skulls over their eyes. Slender like bodies that almost reach over the ceiling. Inhumanly, long, skeleton claws that could stab you any second now.

Norman gasps as he looks like he was about to throw up, but kept in swallowed inside of him while Marianna had the most fearful expression that any little kid could ever have. She put her index finger up to her mouth as she began to bite it out of her internal fear, while Emma immediately gasped, but cupped her lips silent with her left palm and shaking her head in disbelief that these monsters are real.

One of the monsters tears the cloth of the back van and carefully grabbed Conny's petite body. The monsters took off his skull mask and his agonizing teeth opened wide as his long and slightly tongue started to sliver all around Conny's body.

The monster laughs evilly. "It looks so delicious. Human flesh is definitely the tastiest."

All three of them looked at each other with fear and disgust in their eyes as Norman mumbled, "No."

The monsters gnarly long and piecing claws of feet showed while he smashed down a container glowing blue liquid, stripped down of Conny's clothes, and smashed her whole bare body, causing the liquid to slosh.

"Damn!" Cursed the demon. "I wish I could have just a fingertip."

"Don't joke. It's valuable merchandise, definitely not something we are meant to enjoy." Scolded the other demon. "The human flesh from this farm is the highest quality. Only the rich can afford it."

Emma shakily turned to Marianna and Norman as she whispered, "Where's Mom?"

"Shh." Hushed Norman.

When Norman shushed Emma, another demon came in the room and asked his comrades, "How's the gupna?"

"It's mostly done, sir." Informed the other demon.

Emma took another peek, and saw the third demon appear while holding a stamped list of some sort.

"Another six-year-old." Said the third demon in a disappointed tone. "We've only been shipping out average ones lately, but we'll be harvesting some of the high-grade stock soon enough. Right, Isabella?"

"Yes." Said a very familiar young women's voice.

After hearing this familiar voice, all three of their mouths were agape and their eyes widened even further in disbelief.

"These five with full marks are to be prepared for plucking." Said the third demon.

"Yes, sir. I understand." Said the women's voice.

"Hold on." Began the third demon. "I smell something."

The third demon gave the stacked paperwork to the women named Isabella and started to inch closer to the black truck.

It's two inhumanly eyes started to wander all over its head until, in the corner of its eye saw something at the very bottom of that black truck.

It kneeled all the way to the ground, bending its head and found its target.

Meanwhile outside...

Both Marianna, Emma, and Norman rashly ran through the night horizon and began to pant rashly of what the hell they just saw.

Emma suddenly tripped over her own two feet causing Marianna to yell, "Emma!" while Norman said, "You okay?"

Emma continued to look at the grassy ground as she began to huff and puff, loosing her breath, and nearly hyperventilating herself.

Emma could barely control her breath, until she suddenly breathed out, "This place... is a farm. We're all just food?"

After saying the word "food", Marianna's yellow orbs began to tear up as she couldn't hold it in anymore and lowered her head in despair.

"It can't be." Huffed Emma. "Didn't everyone go to foster homes? And Mom is a normal, loving mother, right?"

Emma looked up at Marianna and Norman as she had a crazed look in her green eyes and a deranged smile planted on her face.

"This is all a mistake! W-What we saw wasn't Conny! How could it be?!" She stuttered.

Norman looked down at Emma and only stared at the distress in her eyes as he later gulped and admitted to Emma, "I'm afraid it was Conny."

After hearing Norman's admitted tone, Emma just stared and later droplets of tears started to swell up. She looked down at the ground, reminiscing the times that her and their siblings spent together with Conny, and then with complete heartache and couldn't hold in her tears anymore, Emma wailed as loud as she can while stomping her fists and face to the grassy floor.

Meanwhile in the house...

"Welcome home. How'd it go?" Asked Ray as he held his lantern.

Emma and Norman just looked to the ground and Norman just said, "We didn't make it in time."

Marianna went up to Ray as she asked, "How's Zara?"

"I sang her a lullaby, so she's fast asleep." Said Ray.

Marianna only nodded and went upstairs with Emma and Norman as she went to put on her pajamas and just went to her room.

Later...

"Have we been living here this whole time just to end up as food?" Asked Emma in a very teary and distressed tone.

"Let's escape, Emma. We'll get out of here. That's right. We can do it. Between you, me, Marianna, Zara, and Ray...

"And the others, what about them?" Asked Emma as she began to sob in between her voice. "I can't leave them. If we do, they'll all be killed for sure. I don't want to lose any more family. When I looked in Marianna's room, I saw that she was crying. I can't take it."

Norman shudders as he began to crawl next to Emma's side and patted her shoulder and began to comfort her.

"And you won't have to." Said Norman.

Emma gasps and looks at Norman with tear stains on her red cheeks.

"Try not to worry. We'll flee, all of us." Said Norman.

"Really?" She said in disbelief. "But how? How can a bunch of kids run away from those monsters?"

Emma looked ahead of her trying to think of a way to escape this slaughter house, but then... she gasps in realization and said, "Strategy, like when we played tag."

Norman nodded. "Right. We will find a way, one that ensures all of us survive."

After hearing Norman's explanation, Emma nodded to his suggestion and had a very determined look on her face.
