Reese's P.O.V

I am  so late for class. Suddenly I'm falling before I hit the ground  hand grabs mine pulling back up. "I am so sorry. I wasn't-"

"It's fine. I'm Aiden Kingsleigh." Oh, no. "This fell out of your bag." I grab the sketch book and put it away.

          "Reese Hearts."

"So you're the girl that told up Audrey. Twice was it?"

"No only once. I was just defending my friend. Thank you so much, but I am so late." I slip in to remedial goodness unnoticed.

"If someone hands you a crying baby, do you, A, curse it? B, lock it in a tower? C, give it a bottle? Or D, carve out its heart? Evie."

"What was the second one?" I snicker.

          "Oh, okay. Anyone else? Reese?"

"Well, it would depend on what's in the bottle. Hades had Pain and Panic give Herles a formula that made him mortal..."

"Milk normal warm milk." She says realizing her mistake.

"In that case the answer is C, give it a bottle."

          "Correct."

"How'd you two do that?" Carlos asks

"Just pick the one that doesn't sound like any fun." Mal explains.

"I just looked at options and thought about it like a normal person. Which is really hard." They chuckle

          "Oh."

          "That makes so much sense."

"Oh..." A girl walks in towards fairy godmother.

          "Oh. Hello, dear one.

"Hi. You need to sign off on early dismissal for the coronation."

"Everyone here remembers my daughter, Jane?"

          "Mom, no!" She squeaks.

"It's okay. Jane, this is everyone."

"Hi. That's okay, don't mind me. As you were."

"Ahem. Let's continue. You find a vial of poison. Do you, A, put it in the king's wine? B, paint it on an apple? Or C, turn it over to the proper authorities?"

          "Oh! Ooh... get off."

          "Jay."

"C. You turn it over to the proper authorities."

          "I was gonna say that."

"But I said it first. Come here!"

          "Ow!"

"Come on, who said it first? Who said it first?"

          "Ow! Stop! Ah!"

"Boys. Boys!" I roll my eyes.

"OW." I shout annoyed. They immediately stop fighting. "There."

"I am gonna encourage you to use that energy on the tourney field.

"Oh, no. That's okay. Whatever that is, We'll... We'll pass." Jay and Carlos drag me to watch them play this Turney game.

"Jay, Ben, offense. Chad, you're defense. Taylor, you're the shooter."

          "Right, coach!"

"Hey. Hey! Hey, you. Lost boy! Put your helmet on. Get out of the kill zone! Come on."

          "Kill zone? Wha...

"Pick it up. Put it on! Two hands."

          "Ahh!"

"Jay, It's me! It's Carlos! Wait, stop, Jay. Stop! No, no, no, no. No!"

"Ahh! Oh, yeah! Come on, let's go! Oh! Whoo! Whoo, whoo! Oh! Oh!" Jay manages to get the wining goal. I jump up and cheer, along with the other girls. Audrey glares at me.

"What just happened? Who is this guy?"

"You! Get over here! What do you call that? I call that raw talent. Come find me later. I'll show you something you haven't seen before. It's called a rule book. Welcome to the team, son. You ever thought about band?" I snicker stepping beside them.

"Carlos band that would be entertaining."

           "I'll work with him, coach."

"All right. Let's run that again."

"What are you doing on my field?"

"I like bossing my brother around, so I wanna help you. I can put this game in to terms Jay will understand."

"Listen as much as I'd like that, I can't hae a Twelve-year-old girl as my assistant."

"Why not? I could make these prissy princesses tougher."

          "How?"

          "Is that a yes?"

          "NO!"

          "Whoo!"

          "Ow."

"It's not fair. Just because I'm twelve, he won't let me help!"

          "Those kids are trouble."

"Bye, Mal. Good luck with your thing Ree."

          "Bye."

"Come on, Chad. Give them a chance."

"I agree. I bumped in to Reese early, and she's pretty cool." Aiden says. I look up from my book to see him smiling at me.

"Oh. No offense, Bennybear other, but you're both just too trusting. Look, I know your mom fell in love with a big nasty beast who turned out to be a prince. But with my mom, the evil fairy was just the evil fairy. That girl's mother. And with your mom Aiden the evil queen turned out just to be the evil queen. That girl's mother." Audrey points at me.

"I think you're wrong about them. I'll see you later. Hey!"

"Hey." Mal gives me a look that says go away.

"Find me when you're going to train Carlos, I can help."

"Will do." Jane walks past us and I quickly follow her.

          "Hi. Jane right?"

"Yeah." SHe goes to walk away.

"Don't go. SOrry. I was just hoping to mak a friend." I lean against one of the sinks. "But, you probably have all the friends you need."

"Not really." I look at her genuinely surprised.

"Why not? You seem like a great girl. You're pretty, you seem smart, kind."

          "I love your hair."

"Thank you." An idea pops in to my head. "Do you want me to do your hair?"

"Can you? Do you have magic?"

          "Sort of. Come with me."

Third Person's P.O.V

"What's going on in here?" Mal asks walking in to their dorm to see her bed and Reese's cover with her hair styling stuff.

"Oh, good, you're back. I"m styling Jane's hair." Mal rolls her eyes and pull out her mom's spell book.

"Beware, forswear, replace the old with brand-new hair."

"That's cheating." Reese states grabbing the scissors.

          "Want me to do yours?"

"I'm good." Mal says watching her work. Once she's done, Jane's hair is shoulder-length with layers and a few lighter brown and highlights bringing out her blue eyes more.

          "So, what do you think?"

"I love it. I look amazing. How much do you?"

          "Owe me?" Reese asks confused.

          "To pay for this?"

"It's friends do no payment needed." Reese tenses as Jane hugs her.

          "Thank you so much."

"That as really nice of you." Mal says once Jane's gone.

Reese's P.O.V

"Okay. Carlos, we're gonna do some sprints. You ready?"

"Remember like on the Isle." I call from next to Ben.

          "Oh! Ah! No, wait!"

"Sweet!" I look to see a dog chasing him.

          "No! Ah!"

"Crap." I bolt after him without telling Ben.

          "Carlos? Carlos!"

          "No, stop!"

"Carlos!" I pick up the dog and stroke his fur.

          "You're not so scary."

"Ben, help me! This thing is a killer! He's gonna chase me down and rip out my throat. This is a vicious, rabid pack animal!

          "Hey, who told you that?"

          "My mother."

          "Cruella?"

"She's a dog expert. A dog yellerer. Why are you holding him, Reese? He's gonna attack you!"

"Carlos, you've never actually met a dog, have you?"

"Of course not." He gets down from the tree and I hand him the dog.

"Dude, meet Carlos and Reese. Carlos, Reese, this is dude. He's the campus mutt."

"He doesn't look like a vicious, rabid pack animal. Jeez. You're a good boy, aren't you? You're a good boy."

"I guess you guys have it pretty rough on the island." Tears sting my eyes.

"Yeah. Let's just say we don't get a lot of belly rubs."

"Good boy. I mean, you're a good runner. You're... you're fast, you know."

          "Oh. Yeah. Thank you."

"Yeah. Listen, I'm gonna give you guys some space, yeah? You guys get to know each other and just, you know, come find me when you're done, okay?"

          "Okay."

          "I'll see you later."

"See you out there. Hi. Hi. Oh! Thank you." I chase after Ben.

"Where can I get a dog?" I ask him.

          "The pound."

          "Where's that?"

"I'll have someone show you." It turns out that someone is Aiden. Ug, why does life hate me?

"I heard you were the one that did Jane's hair. F.G's not happy about you using magic to that."

"I didn't use magic." I state. "Mal did. I used to help out Drizzella's daughter at Lady Tremaine's beauty shop. And I picked up a thing or two. Most of what I did came from her natural hair."

Aiden's P.O.V

"How can I help you today?"

"We're looking for a dog." I tell her. I look at Reese to see her looking around in amazement.

"Right this way." There are a lot of dogs. But one in particular seems to catch Reese's eye. It's a three headed dog like Cerberus.

"What about this one?" She asks bending down in front of the cage. It's hard to believe she's the daughter of The red queen.

"That's Rose, if we don't sell her soon, then I'm afraid we'll have to put her down. She's a little rough around the edges."

          "I'll take her."

          "How much?" I ask.
