Margaret and I sat against the wheel of the truck. It took her half an hour before she could calm down. Now we sat quietly, I leaned against the wheel and she sat in between my legs leaned against me.
I kissed her neck, it always made her calm when I did that.

"Maggie why don't we go into town and go get some food for them?" I asked her, she nodded and stood up. I got up and went over to winters.

"Sir can me and Protch take a Jeep to get food for them?" I asked him.

"Yeah, alert Sink and make sure they get water and any kind of food they can get their hands on." He set the keys in my hands and I nodded. Maggie and I walked to the Jeep. I got in and so did she, I started it up as we drove back into town.
Maggie staid silent the whole time.

We stood on the back of the trucks handing out the food that we brought with them.
I sighed putting pieces of bread into hands begging for it. I watched as Maggie handed out canteens to the people. She walked over to the truck and pulled herself up by me.
Nix walked over and called me down. I got down and went over to talk to them.

"Sink said that we need to lock them back up so we can control their food intake and monitor medical treatment. so they don't eat themselves to death. Because they're starving, you need to get back up there and explain that to them." Winters explained to me. I sighed looking at him.

"You can't tell them that sir," I shook my head.

"You've got to Joe," he sighed.

"Yes sir," I nodded and climbed back on the truck.
I called to them in German to get there attention. I sighed talking loudly to them explaining what Winters had just explained to me.
I sighed as they all looked angered and distressed. I sighed and glanced at Maggie. They started to heard them back into the camp them pleading to not put them back in there. I sighed and chewed on my lip I sat down next to Maggie and put my head in my hands. I felt the tears start to fall from my face.
These were just normal people put through mass genocide.
I sniffed and continued to cry I felt Maggie pull me into her embrace. It was her turn now to calm me down. She ran her hands through my hair as I cried into her chest. I was thinking about my family, Maggie's family. That easily could've been us.

Maggie and I found a queen size bed for us to share in the emptied out houses. We had been sharing a twin size for about a year now.
Maggie laid on her back staring at the ceiling.

"Maggie?" I spoke up to her for the first time since we were at the camp.

"Yeah?" She sighed propping herself up.

"Let's forget today and start over," I sighed and sat on the end of the bed untied my boots. I pulled them off then untied Maggie's and pulled them off for her. I set our socks out to dry, she laid there motionless for a few minutes.

"Do you wanna change out of your uniform?" I asked her, she nodded. She sat up and took her pants off changing into her shorts and grabbed one of my spare shirts from my bag. It was big on her and made it that much cuter. I changed and laid down next to her.

"I'm sorry Joe," she sighed looking at me.

"No don't apologize." I sighed looking at her. She nodded and leaned into me as she fell asleep.
