IV. DANCING ROUGE

paintbrushes coated with red oil paint as i sit next to you, breathing in the strawberry scent of your being.

Dark green strands fell back onto a tanned tear-stained face as soon as Taehyung had raked his hand through, gripping his black paintbrush tight as the rouge danced across the rough canvas. His breaths were at a normal pace but his heart was erratic from his anxiety attack a mere half an hour earlier, graphite smashed on the floor and chalk smudged across dusty rose walls.

This studio wasn't all that nice considering it was the one Namjoon let him borrow, Taehyung preferring his own little home where he could paint with any colour and let fresh air in by opening the floaty curtains. But here, he couldn't paint with yellow brushes nor open windows because they were all locked. So obviously, he was stressed and art wasn't working because he couldn't do it good enough.

Yoongi was supposed to pick him up two hours ago, and of course, there was no sign of the mint-haired artist. Taehyung groaned in frustration, flinging the paintbrush across the room and kicking the cheap easel down, palette chucked carelessly onto the linoleum flooring.

Stupid cabbage head's probably drinking again.

"Jin hyung, what do you think of this? I bought it when I went out with Jimin today." Jeongguk nervously asked a cooking Jin, motioning to the choker around his neck. The elder smiled and put down his kitchen knife, walking round the island to grasp his shoulders.

Jin studied the top half of the younger, noticing how the saturn charm caught in the artificial light and the black band didn't look too tight or loose. "You look very attractive, Jeonggukie. What's with the accessory anyway honey?"

He's such a parent, it's ridiculous...but nice.

"Jimin's going to take me to a party, even helped me buy new clothes just for it." Jeongguk remembered the leather pants and floaty v-neck in the shopping bags in his room, eager to go but anxious about his appearance.

"Just be careful," Jin lets go of the younger, not before patting the freshly-dyed head of honey hair, going back to cutting vegetables and now meat. "The last party you went to didn't exactly end well, and I don't want a repeat of that."

Jeongguk nodded and fully understood, running back to his room giggling with excitement bubbling in his stomach. Jimin texted him to say they were going to come for him in an hour, so naturally the younger (with hardly any experience with parties) panicked.

Resulting in him falling into an empty bathtub.
