Back home

"Finally I'm home" Risha said to herself as she pressed the calling bell.

Her mom opened the door complaining  " Why are you so late. You said that you got in the train by 9 and and now it's already 2. Go freshen up fast..I'll serve the lunch".

" What's the special today" asked Risha with a playful smile.

"I haven't prepared anything special, how on earth am I supposed  know that you are coming....you just informed me 2 hours back" said Risha's mom hoping that it would keep her daughter from forgetting to inform the next time she comes home.

" Seriously.." Risha opened the fridge just to find that even the ice trays were empty.

" Amma ....You could've aleast stored some cold water for me. You always do it when brother comes" asked Risha, her voice loud and stern.

"Don't you know that you will easily catch a cold " before her mom could finish the sentence Risha barged into her room as if her mom actually did a grave mistake.

Risha locked the room, threw the bag on the floor and sat on the bed checking her messages.

The message in the 'room group' caught her attention. It said that the anatomy results were out. Risha went through the list just to just find that she got successfully screwed in her general anatomy paper with a score of 16 out of 40. She wasn't surprised. But after a moment she stood thunder struck. Being a professional overthinker, Risha had her own ways on analyzing and imagining things. This time what she brought up, was the possibility of the marks being sent to her parents.

"Oh my God...I'll be thrown out of the house for sure".  Her heart sank. She went for a quick shower.

Risha got out of the room and went straight to the kitchen. "Actually warm water is fine....that's what the yogis say" grinned Risha as she poured her self a glass of water. Risha kept searching to find her mom's phone.

" what are you lingering around. Just go have lunch already"

" yaah I'm going....well where is your phone Amma" asked Risha with a shaky voice. "It's just nothing I just want to recharge my phone".

"Fine...what's with the unusual behavior. It's on the table and hope you know the password".

Risha checked the phone. This time she had a proud smile on her face. The results weren't sent to the parents. She sat on the dining table and started having lunch as; now the only thing that mattered to her was food.

Risha got up and filled a bottle full of water and kept it in the fridge. Her mom looked up in a puzzled manner not knowing what exactly happened to her child.
"What exactly is wrong with you. Feels like you inherited your dad's family trait".

" Whatever" said Risha as she shrugged her shoulder."Why should l listen to the yogis....they lived in the Himalayas.....but it's really hot in here".

Risha got out of the house and walked out of the gate on the way to her aunts house.

"Rithik....is that you?!" Risha kept staring at Rithik as if she has seen an alien.

" oooo....hi Risha , is this your house?" asked Rithik with his usual pleasant smile.

"Yes...but what are you doing here? Do you live nearby?" asked Risha with her forehead wrinkled and eye brows raised.

"That one over there is my aunts house. At times I stayed there during my school vacations" said Rithik as he pointed to a white colored two storied house.

"Oh...so I wasn't wrong...you looked kind of familiar to me. I must have seen you there." This time out of excitement Risha was on top of her voice.

"Probably not" Rithik chuckled and continued, "I guess it's because we went to the same coaching classes. If I'm not wrong u went to K01 right?"

"Yaah...!!, now don't tell me that you too are a re-repeater", Risha kept glaring at him.

"Yeah...I kind of happen to be one. I went to K03" chuckled Rithik.

"Dude I'm really sorry that, I was awkward the other day. It's just that I knew that you were familiar but couldn't recollect" said Risha in an apologetic tone.

"Well it's fine.... I'm aware that all people needn't be having a sharp memory power and observation skill as mine" said Rithik with a playful smile.

"Sure..I admit that you have a great deal of narcissistic skill too" said Risha with a proud smirk on her face.

"Fine I'll get going. See you later neighbour" said Rithik with a grin as he waved his hands.
