Childhood Blues

Childhood Friend! Len X Reader

Heyyy! I actually really like this idea. If you didn't know, Childhood Blues is an actual song sung by Gumi. And I have been listening to it for 5 hours today- I mean, five times today. So, this will be in your POV and 2nd person's POV. I'll try to make this very much like the song. Heck, it might be even exactly like it, except for the characters...

I tried, LOL.

*I am making a short story about this now. I'll notify you if it's published! I just felt like making it more longer with more plot (that isn't actually from the song, just things I thought of) it may be for another character though...but whatever, just imagine it's Len!*

Your POV

"If from this hill, you watch the sky while the sun is setting for 51 days, your love will be reciprocated."

His skepticism at my excitement was obvious as Len looked up at the summer sky. I tried to walk faster than him.

"There's no way I'd believe in such a rumor, okay?! There's no way!"

"How desperate are you?" To hear him say that always annoys me.

"Could you stop looking at me like I'm an idiot? It's just a good luck charm, okay?! When I'm desperate, this kind of thing becomes necessary!"

"You never listen to what I say. You're such a kid."

"I don't wanna listen to you, since I've already decided!" I said, pumping my fist on the air.

He just chuckles. Len was my childhood friend. Whatever happens, he always sticks with me. But then, for five years...I've realized that I fell in love and fell for him more and more. I've become more sensitive, more curious and more of a crybaby.

'So by gathering these small pieces of courage over 51 days, please let my feelings reach that sky...!'

~ Another Day At The Hill ~

2nd Person's POV

Len sat at the stone. He looks pretty sour, it's almost like he's sulking.

"Honestly! If you hate it that much, you don't have to come with me every day! Seriously!"

"It's getting dark, so it's dangerous." He said, taking his bike and walking down the hill.

'Wha- I'm being treated like a kid?!' You thought, angry. But in truth, he just wanted to make sure you were okay.

"You're probably not going to keep it up, anyways."

"Yeah, yeah, just watch me!" You said, closing one of your eyes and sticking out your tongue.

'Is it because it's you, that I can be this relaxed?' You wonder, as you hide away that love you wish would be reciprocated.

'He's comforted me through so many heartbreaks, so I want these feelings to reach him...' Years ago, you only started to like guys to cover up your love for Len.

And you forgot about it, thinking you do like the guy you're liking. You both arrived to your house. He was going to help you study. After studying, you were taking a break. You crossed the days you watched the sunset so far.

'When we became teenagers, we grew apart. He grew tall, his line of sight became so much higher. So many things began to change,'

You walked across the small bridge (forgot what it was called), seeing Tsumiyo, a classmate of yours talking to Len. Both of them were smiling. You ran towards the building you were going to. Len thought he saw a glimpse of you, but shrugging it off once he saw you weren't there.

'I guess being childhood friends isn't that easy. It feels uneasy, it's kinda embarassing...'

You were talking to Seishirou, another classmate of yours. He was telling you about a new game coming out. You smiled, saying if you could buy the game together. He smiled back, nodding. Unknown to you, Len saw the whole thing and walked away, jealous. You thought you saw a glimpse of him, and looked the spot he was previously in.

You had unconciously slept on the desk, still holding the pencil you used to cross out in the calendar. Len went inside your room. "Are you done taking a break-" he stopped talking when he saw you were sleeping peacefully on the desk.

He silently walked towards you and sat on a chair just beside you. He twirled a lock of your hair. Noticing it was late, he picked up a small notepad, wrote something on it and left a small box on the desk before leaving.

You stirred when your pencil fell on the ground. You picked it up, noticing a small note next to it. It read: I left something for you on your desk. Make sure to read it. You looked on your desk. There was a box, indeed.

You took a peek inside. Inside was notebooks. You picked one and flipped through pages. 'Notes from class...? Wait, this is from Len?' Your face went hot.

'He does care about me, after all...' You read the notebooks with a smile on your face.

~ The 51st Day At The Hill ~

As the sun sets for the 51st time, two shadows stand side by side on the hill.

"Who'd you fall for this time? I'll help out." As he grumbled so, you grabbed his hand, your face flushed.

".....This is why I fell in love with you." You said, a warm smile on your face.

As he pouted, his face turned red.

"The way you hide your embarrassment never changes, huh..." You said.

"But I realized, I love this part of you, too." You continued. That only made his face much more redder.

"...You're really late." He pinched your cheeks.

"Oww! Wait, don't pinch me!" You said, grinning. Underneath the orange sky, the childhood friends laughed as they held each other's hand, reminiscing the old days.
