"leen, you see that kid with the brown hair? sitting by nate?" jack asked a few minutes later.

"the cute one with the nice jawline and eyes?" i questioned, looking outside.

"yeah, him."

"what about him?"

"he thinks you're cute." he explained.

i hummed, "he's too cute to think i'm cute." i replied.

"well sucks that you think that, because he does. his name is wes, go talk to him." he said, pushing me outside.

"rude." i stuck my tongue out at him as he pushed me out the glass door.

i went out and walked awkwardly towards the circle of people. i slowed and sat next to wes, which was the seat across from shawn.

wes turned and smiled at me as i sat and i returned it.

"hey, i'm wes." he introduced himself.

"i know, i'm leena. since when do you hang out with these losers? i didn't see you last time i visited." i asked.

"kinda recently. but they're cool."

"no, they're not!" i joked, and he laughed.

"so, where are you from? how do you know these guys?" he asked.

"i'm from texas. how i know them is a long story, i'm kinda surprised you don't already know it."

"i don't keep up with that stuff, it's usually fake. i'd rather learn it for myself."

"you're a smart cookie." i laughed, bumping my shoulder with his. at the same time i looked up to see shawn staring. well, more like glaring.

wes followed my line of sight as shawn stood up and walked away.

"looks like he's pissed."

"it sounds like a personal problem, but i'll deal with it later. anyway, tell me about yourself." i replied, continuing the conversation.

after about an hour of sitting and talking to wes and the other guys, shawn still hadn't come back, and i started to feel guilty.

i excused myself with the guys and went in search of shawn.

"what's wrong with you?" i asked when i finally found him sitting on a bed in one of the guest rooms.

"nothing." he mumbled in reply.

"you don't have the right to act the way you are."

"i know. that's why i walked away."

"what's the problem, anyway?"

"i don't know, wes isn't your type."

"wes isn't my type? my type is guys i like; not guys you say are my type." i rolled my eyes.

"you need to suck it up," i continued, "you messed it up, not me. so, you need to get over whatever is going on in that head of yours. especially if you still want this whole 'let's be friends' thing to work out." i told him.

"listen, let's restart. and this time you should try not being an asshole?"

he cracked a little smile and nodded.

"okay well, hi. i'm leena and i like rainbows." i started.

"hi, i'm shawn and i like harry potter." he replied, holding his hand out for me to shake.

"yeah? me too, i graduate from hogwarts soon."

he grinned and looked at me.

"i'm sorry, again."

"yeah, whatever. things are never really easy with you, are they? atleast we have a clean slate. now, let's go. our friends are waiting." i said, standing and holding my hand out for him.

he grabbed it and we headed back outside.

as we went and sat jack looked at me and raised his eyebrows and i shook my head no at him.

"so, what did i miss?" i asked as i sat down.

"sammy being an idiot!" nate replied.

i grinned in reply, and listened to the conversations around me; savoring every second of it.

after a little more time sitting with the rest, i was ready to call it a night. i told all the guys goodnight and started to make my way inside.

"hey, leena! wait up." i heard someone say from behind me.

i turned as i felt a hand on my back.

"yeah, wes?" i asked.

he waited until we were inside the house to continue, "are you busy tomorrow?" he asked, finally.

"not that i know of." i smiled.

"well, would you uh...like to..maybe go to lunch with me tomorrow?" he asked, looking at his feet and blushing.

"a date? yeah, i'd like that." i replied, still smiling.

"okay, great! i'll pick you up tomorrow at like one."

"okay!"

"well, i'll let you go to sleep. goodnight."

"goodnight, wes." i replied and started walking to my room, with a grin still on my face.
