Your POV:

Your alarm went off and your eyes shot open then you groaned and closed them again “I don’t wanna get up” you mumbled pouting. You sighed as you slowly started to climb out of your bed, you walked into your bathroom and towards the sink. You brushed your teeth and washed your face then went to your closet. You opened up your closet and stared at the clothes boredly before you took out your school uniform. You quickly dressed and then combed your hair, tying them into two ponies like you usually do then sprayed on some perfume, put on your shoes, grabbed your bag and then went downstairs.

You were half-way down the stairs when you could smell pancakes, you smiled going down the stairs faster. You saw your mom in front of the stove and went over to her, giving her a kiss on the cheek. “Morning mom” you greeted and sat down at the table placing your back next to you. “Hi honey, sleep well?” your mom asked placing the pancake onto a pile of pancakes on a plate. “Yea, but I still feel tired” you admitted drinking some of the guava juice in the glass. Your mom rolled her eyes as she walked over to you with the plate of pancakes “Honey… you’re always tired whenever you have to go to school” your mom pointed out and you just grinned. “Now eat, before Dante shows up” your mom ordered as she placed 3 pancakes into the plate in front of you.

Your eyes grew wide “Why would Dante be showing up here this early in the morning?” you said trying to sound innocent as you picked up the syrup. “Nice try, hun… I know Dante is picking you up this morning, I overheard him asking you if he could” your mom informed smirking. You narrowed your eyes at her “You were listening in on our conversation!” you accused cutting off a piece of your pancakes, “Well honey, you two weren’t exactly 20 meters away from the car nor were either of you really whispering” your mom pointed out. You opened your mouth to protest but you ended up sighing in defeat. “Now finish eating” your mom said pouring syrup over her pancakes, “Fine” you mumbled stuffing a piece of pancake into your mouth.

When you finished you picked up your bag and hanged it on your shoulder then walked towards the front door and stood in front of it. Your mom walked over to you then held something out to you “Did you forget something?” she asked smiling, you looked down at her hand and saw a packet of spearmint Beechies. You took them from her and smiled “Thanks mom” you said as you took out one and put it in your mouth. Just then the doorbell rang and you practically jumped through the door from shock. Your mom moved passed you and opened the door “Hello Dante” she greeted smirking, “Good morning Mrs. Lee” he replied. “Uhm.. I’m here to pick up Lilly to take her to school” he informed, your mom nodded “Yes, please make sure she gets there” your mom said smiling. “I will Mrs. Lee” he answered. You moved passed your mom and turned around to face her “Thanks mom and bye mom” you said quickly hugging her then you grabbed Dante’s hand and quickly walked towards his car in the driveway.

Dante chuckled “Good morning to you too Lilly” he mocked smiling, you came to a stop in front of his car. “I’m sorry, hello Dante” you apologized smiling. Dante’s eyes were going up and down and instantly your cheeks heat up. “Is this your school uniform?” he asked sounding uncertain, you nodded “Yea…” you replied looking down. “I think your school has incredible taste… this uniform is absolutely awesome, you look amazing Lilly!” he complemented smiling. Your cheeks flushed “Uhm.. thank you Dante” you said smiling. Dante unlocked his car and you two climbed in. He started the car and the two of you were off. There was silence for the first three minutes, neither of you saying anything. Dante took in a deep breath “Listen Lilly, I need to tell you” Dante started glancing at you, you blinked your eyes looking at him “Right, yea?” you said still looking at him. “This might be hard to believe but I promise you that what I’m about to tell you is not a lie” he reassured as he made a right turn. You nodded “Okay, I trust you anyways Dante” you reminded smiling, Dante looked at you surprised.

“You trust me?” Dante repeated, you nodded “Of course I do” you replied smiling. “But don’t you know us vampires can be unpredictable?” Dante asked smirking, you laughed “Yea, I do.. but I still trust you… besides if you were gonna do anything bad to me you would have given signs or have done it already” you pointed out grinning. Dante glanced at you astonished then smirked “I still could, you know” he stated “I know, but I know you won’t” you answered smiling at him. “Anyway what I was telling you about was that there is still something you do not know about vampires” Dante stated slowing down, you smiled widely “Really? Awesome” you said excitedly. Dante slowly let the car come to a stop, you looked to your right to see your school’s entrance. *Yay.. right in front of the entrance.. so everyone can see us* you mentally commented sarcastically then gulped. “I guess I gotta get going, sorry Dante” you apologized slightly smiling, he let out a small sigh “I’m not sure when I’ll be able to see you again… I can’t pick you up this afternoon because of a meeting I have to attend and tomorrow I have to go on some business trip with my dad” he informed frowning. “It’s okay, bye” you said smiling and climbed out of the car.

You walked a few steps then turned around to wave at Dante only to find him standing in front of you. You gasped and he grinned. “You didn’t think you would be getting rid of me that easily, did you?” he joked, you giggled “No of course not.. why would I wanna get rid of you?” you replied playfully smiling. Dante suddenly enveloped you in a tight hug, it took you a few seconds to get over the shock and hug him back. You two slowly pulled apart, you opened your mouth to say something but you were cut off when Dante’s lips collided with yours. Yours eyes grew twice their original size and your face turned crimson. A few seconds later Dante pulled away, smirking. “Goodbye, Lilly” he said letting go of you, you blinked your eyes rapidly “G-goodbye, Dante” you said staring at him with awe. He turned walking back to his car as you waved then walked off towards the entrance, going into the school, also noticing that some people were staring at you.

Dante’s POV:

I climbed into my car and watched as Lilly walked into the school. I sighed and took a hold of my car keys and was about to start my car when something out the corner of my eye caught my attention. I looked to my left to see what I did not expect at all. “Hello Dante” a voice I hated so much greeted, “Hey” the other voice I also despised said. I glared at both of them “Kyle and Kale… what the hell are you two doing here?” I hissed, Kyle made a fake hurt expression “Can’t we come say hello to our own cousin?” he asked. “No!” I spat narrowing my eyes at him. “Ouch! That hurts my feelings” Kyle responded jokingly, “Didn’t you miss us, Dante?” Kale asked a smirk spread across his face. “Never” I answered coldly, Kale frowned.

“You still hate us, don’t you?” Kyle asked smirking, “I will never stop hating you” I stated smirking. Kyle chuckled “I’m glad.. cause then we’re on the same page here” he said. I clenched my teeth for a few seconds then turned my attention back to my car and started it “I don’t know what the hell you two are doing back here, but I don’t care either just stay away from me and my family” I warned glancing at them with menacing eyes. “Do you consider that girl you were just with also family or can we have her for dinner?” Kale asked licking his lips, my eyes grew wide and a second later I was out of my car and standing in front of Kale looking him straight in the eyes. “Stay the fuck away from her” I growled glaring at him. Kale whistled slowly bringing his hands up beside his face “I was just asking, that’s all” he said grinning, “It seems that girl is important to you, Dante. Who is she?” Kyle asked smirking.

“Someone you’ll never get to meet” I answered narrowing my eyes at him, Kyle frowned “And why exactly not? Come on, we’re not that bad, are we?” he asked smiling evilly. I took a step closer to him “You two bloodsuckers are despicable… you do not have the right to be called damphirs… you’re way to low” I stated frowning. Kyle’s smile disappeared and was replaced by a frown “Be careful, Dante… you’re a bloodsucker too and I am older than you too” Kyle warned narrowing his eyes at me, “And we’re two and you’re just one” Kale added. “I may also be a bloodsucker, but I do not take the lives of innocent humans. It’s because of vampires like you that we have to hide to survive” I pointed out clenching my teeth. Kyle rolled his eyes “We’re dead already so we might as well have fun” he stated smirking.

“Tch” the sound escaped my mouth as I glared at them clenching my teeth. I turned around and climbed into my car. “Aww, leaving already? We still have so much to talk about” Kale joked “Stay away from my family and friends… or you will regret it” I warned then stepped on the gas pedal, heading home.

Your POV:

You were sitting in class.. bored to tears as the teacher rambled on about some story you didn’t even bother to read. You looked at the teacher then higher up to where the clock was, you watched as the timer went tick-tick-tick then sighed. *Man I hate school* you thought frowning.

The school bell finally rang which signified the end of the school day. You grabbed your bag and was out of the classroom heading down the long hall towards the school entrance doors. As you were walking you saw a red rose in a vase near a window, you kept staring at it and as you did something suddenly flashed through your mind.

*Flash*

You stood up and walked over to the dresser and bent forward a little bit then looked at the black rose, you could see that it was slowly starting to wither. *Aww the poor thing is dying* you thought looking at it *Maybe it needs some water* you mentally reckoned and moved your hand towards the rose. You took a hold of the rose but a thorn pricked your finger, you winced letting go of the rose.

*Flash end*

You shook your head holding it, blinking your eyes rapidly “What was that just now?” you mumbled shutting your eyes tightly then opening them again. You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion then shrugged and continued to walk. Since Dante couldn’t come pick you up and your mom was working you had to walk home. You eventually got home then undressed and made yourself something to snack on. You kept yourself busy by listening to music or watching DVD’s until it was time to take a bath then go to bed. You climbed into your bed and then you remembered that flash that went through your mind.

*I wonder what that was… a memory perhaps? I remember the rose, it’s Dante’s black rose that’s standing on his dresser… but why?...* you thought closing your eyes.
