"Shinichi!" Yuji called, his pace not up to speed with Shinichi's. "Shinichi, Wait!" Yuji wasn't the fastest, but Shinichi wasn't either, which made them both the weakest. His sweat rained off his skin like a sprinkler with legs, the beating of his heart slowed him down to the point of heavy breathing and rasping. Shinichi ran off into the distance due to a bully pulling a prank on him, Yuji would always stand up for Shinichi, Yuji would even go as far as fighting for Shinichi. Yuji remembered all the times he would win some, and end up with only a black eye and a few bruises. The bully went too far this time though, he tripped Shinichi and made him fall into a girl who was getting her lunch, she dropped the food all over him.

The 6th graders at our school treat 4th graders like mincemeat, nothing more but something that keeps them going. Shinichi took off running and Yuji stood up for him by threatening to beat them up, he almost won, just ended up with a busted lip and some bruises on his arm. Yuji walked it off and ran after Shinichi.

After that incident, Yuji hasn't seen Shinichi until freshmen year of High School. They shared classes together and they've been talking about how many times Yuji would stand up to his friend since Kinder garden. 

But then after graduation, Shinichi was moving to another part of Japan, and going to a different high school. It made Yuji upset knowing that his childhood friend would be leaving him after reuniting for a year and a half. But they both knew that it wouldn't be long until they met again.

Yuji stayed at the high school originally and had plans on becoming an artist, he had skills drawing with his left hand, he could make the prettiest rose, the smuggest of mugs (faces), and even weird things. There was a time in his life where he would draw things unpleasant. The dark part of him drew up  weird creatures that had mouths for heads, spiky hands, and one of them he remembered famously as the recreation of Jesus Christ being crucified on the cross. But Yuji made these creatures were responsible for it, and Jesus himself was a monster, his head was an entire mouth with teeth, it was a dark time for Yuji.

Many years later, Yuji is now a Junior, He has a big life ahead of him, he was in many different art classes, studying the many ways of becoming a true artist. He would practice in his free time and would doodle on other class assignments. He had a talent for being left handed, he was actually ambidexter, but he was more comfortable using his left hand.

He won second place as best left handed painter, with the prize being a 11743.50 yen, he was popular enough to get a girlfriend, who is now learning how to animate.

She loves Yuji so much, she would draw with him, and even made pottery. They were happy together.

Then the time for graduation into seniors came, and Yuji found a similar name next to a girl named Murano, he recognized as his best friend's name. Shinichi Izumi. "We made it! I can't believe it!" a girl said, then afterwards, she asked a question that Yuji asked himself, "Are you... Shinichi Izumi?"
