Harry darted into the dingy bathroom of the leaky cauldron to put on his glamours. He scowled as he shrank back down, he lost the muscle on his arms and his face went from stunning to mildly off-putting. His hair became an inch shorter, exposing his scar. And lastly, the feather crown and little row of horns receded. There he stood, plain little Potter who looked about fourteen instead of nearly sixteen. He sighed. He swung his invisibility cloak around himself and went to the front door, then walked in without the cloak on so as to appear as though he'd just arrived. All eyes were on him once more, but in the way he greatly disliked. He went up to the bar and ordered two butterbeers, before sitting down with his drink. he watched the minutes ticking by. knowing Hermione, she'd be dead on time.

Five, four, three, two, one-

The door of the pub swung open and there she stood, looking rather nervous as she made her way over. As she took her seat opposite him he pushed the second bottle he'd bought towards her. She wrapped her hand around the neck and muttered her thanks. He spent a moment or two simply studying her body language. The way her eyes nervously darted around the room, the way she rubbed her arm, the way she picked at the skin around her nail. She coughed awkwardly and attempted to start a conversation.

"Hhm, it's- great to see you, how's your summer bee-" Harry cut her off.

"Look, let me get straight to the point.." He cast a muffliato under the table. He then reached into his pocket, pulling out the records of his vaults. He laid it out on the table. Hermione's eyes widened. "What do you know about this?" She began talking immediately.

"Harry, please know that whatever you know, I never personally had the intention to hurt you. There are precautions in place preventing me from talking directly about things, and my parents' lives are potentially on the line-" He shushed her.

"You were the only one paying money back in, right?" She nodded tensely. Harry brought out the parchment detailing all of the now broken blocks. When she spotted the '(BROKEN)' at the end of every line, she gasped. Her eyes lit up and she grinned.

"Oh Harry, thank god you worked it out! There's charms that trigger when I say certain words, and until my birthday Dumbledore had complete control over me if I got too close to helping you- oh god, I'm so sorry that all of this has happened to you, I wish I hadn't been a part of this-" she paused, and her eyes widened. "Wait. It says here, that-" She pointed to the line detailing the blocks on his inheritances. "-you mean - have you- are you-" Harry didn't bother explaining. He just let his newly abnormally long tongue fall from his mouth. She shrieked.

"But this- this is wonderful! I didn't even know you had... those! I've never met another!" Harry was dumbfounded.

"Another? You mean you-" Hermione nodded eagerly. "But Hermione, aren't you a muggleborn?" Hermione was suddenly checking left and right again. "Do you wanna come back to my house? We could talk privately," he offered. Hermione seemed relieved that he'd offered.

"Yes. that would be... appropriate. Lead the way." They left through a public floo, landing in the magnificent library of Potter manor. Hermione let out a huge gasp. The shelves were vast and packed with knowledge. Harry enjoyed her reaction, and with a jolt realised he could remove the glamours on him. He let out a deep sigh of relief as he felt himself grow several inches once more. The feathers, horns, wings and tail sprouted out of him and he stretched his wings out above his head like he would his arms. Hermione gasped at the sight of him, the blue and red wings fanned out around him like a feathery halo. He grinned.

"Harry, you look so... different!"

"Yeah, this is what i'm meant to look like, instead of a scrawny fourteen year-old." He heard a crinkle and remembered the address card in his pocket. He took it out to show Hermione. "This guy at the ice cream parlour gave me his address and everything." Ahe chuckled.

"Well, Harry, if you didn't notice, you're really quite attractive. Like, unnaturally so. You sure you aren't part-veela?" She joked. Harry scoffed.

"Oh shush, know-it-all. C'mon, spill. What kind of creature are you?" She seemed suddenly nervous.

"-I don't know. it happened when I turned sixteen last September, and I had to work so hard to hide it from Dumbledore. He had Pince breathing down my neck so I couldn't check any books, and all letters were monitored anyway so I couldn't possibly order one. I've been trying to work it out for ages." She perked up. "We're in the Potter manor library right now, though..." she sighed. "Seeing as you've done so, I might as well take the glamours off." And she let the glamours fall.

Pointed grey cat ears edged with black and with little tufts of black fur at the tips grew from her bushy mane of hair, which itself became a shimmering purple towards the lower half. A short furry tail sprouted from behind her, remaining slightly raised. The back of her hands and the sides of her face grew a small layer of the same silvery grey fur, with darker patches scattered throughout, and her face became more sculpted. Her eyes became slanted, and her pupils became slits. Whiskers sprouted from her cheeks and her canines grew to protrude over her lower lip slightly. Harry gasped.

"I have just the book for you, 'Mione," he said, digging around in the little leather pouch at his hip. He pulled the hefty stack of books out and slammed them down on the table before shuffling through the pile until he saw the title he was looking for. He proudly presented her a faded blue book with the words "inheritances of the feline" embroidered in gold thread across the cover. She squealed and snatched the book from his hands.

"Thankyouthankyouthankyou! Thank you so much, Harry!" She skimmed through, shocked at the value of this book. "Where did you get a book like this?" She looked over the pile. "Any of these?"

"I took a trip to the potter vaults. My family were infamous for having all sorts of creature blood in the bloodlines, so there's a library with books on every known inheritance in the family." Hermione's eyes widened as she looked down the pile.

"That's a lot, wow. some are pretty obscure, too - I mean, who last heard of naiad - I can't say the word - or wyverns?" Harry coughed awkwardly.

"You can chalk me up for the wyvern club, actually." Hermione was even more surprised.

"Wow, what kind? I know there's different needs for each..."

"Forest."

"You got lucky there. Those are the easiest to accommodate for." He nodded thoughtfully. Hermione was interested now, though.

"What are the other inheritances, then?" Harry suddenly grinned.
